Jai P.O.V.
"Thank you."
"For everything."
"I'm happy that the person my dad saved,"
"was you." I said while embracing Sahana in my arms.
Her arms wrap around my waist, "Thank you for everything too."
"I'm happy that the person that saved me was your dad."
"Or else I wouldn't have been comfortable doing this,"
she pulled out of the hug and went slightly up on her toes, giving me a kiss on the cheek.
She then looked up and blew a kiss,
"That one was for your dad."
Last night I wasn't sure about it.
Not 100%.
Maybe it was in that moment,
I felt that way.
But now,
I know for sure.
It was always like that ever since the day we became friends.
Ever since the first time you hugged me.
Ever since the first time you held my hand.
"I love you."
A soft smile displayed on Sahana,
"Aw, I love you too Jai."
She ruffled my hair.
Friendzoned to the max.
"Ok I'm gonna go now." she pointed at the open door. I nodded and waved as she and Monty left.
I closed the door and sighed, hanging my head low,
"Is it better to just be friends?" Amiga walked and looked up at me. I stared into her big eyes.
I brought my head up, "No, I have to tell her," I looked back down at Amiga and picked her up,
"But I don't know whenn." I whined.
Suddenly I heard my phone buzz.
I grabbed it out of my pocket and checked the notification.
Ashley: Hey can we talk?
Please?
Sahana P.O.V.
I entered into my apartment with a big smile on my face.
"He said 'I love you.' I have no idea in which way he meant it, but he said it regardless,"
I crouched down and pet Monty,
"That's good enough for me."
Jai P.O.V.
Ashley: Hey can we talk? Please?
I rolled my eyes at the message.
At times like this, I really wish I had things to do.
I sighed.
Me: When.
She responded in seconds
Ashley: 5
Me: ok
I checked the time: 12:30 p.m.
"Holy shit it's this late?!" I gasped. "Wait but I have nothing to do, so it's fine." I shrugged and jumped onto the couch. I scrolled through movies while thinking.
How am I going to tell Sahana?
When am I going to tell her?
Will I even be able to tell her?
Do you even have the balls Jai?
I shook my head brushing all the thoughts away.
I laid on my back and smiled to myself,
"I love her."
Amiga laid down at the end of the couch. I picked her up and held her up in front of my face,
"I love Sahana."
Almost instantly my door swung open. I shot myself up, startled, holding Amiga close to me.
"Well speak of the devil." I mumbled to myself.
"Hey, I'm gonna go hang out with Cassia and Sami so can Monty be here?"
I rapidly nodded.
She was wearing a graphic white tee, tucked into some mom jeans with converse, and a messy bun.
Gorgeous.
"Thank uu I'm heading out now byee."
"Bye." I responded, trying to keep my cool. She smiled and closed the door.
I groaned putting my hands over my face,
"AGHH HOW THE HELL AM I GONNA TELL HERR!!"
Sahana P.O.V.
I giggled to myself as I headed down to the garage. I'm meeting up with Cassia and Sami at Choco's, as usual.
I sighed, "I don't even know how I'm supposed to tell those 2 about all that's happened last night."
"Well, the best way is to just rip it off like a band-aid, so let's go with that."
I reached the café and opened the door to see them already at our usual spot.
"Hii." I smiled and sat down.
"OH MY GOD YESTERDAY WAS SO MUCH FUNN!!" Sami exclaimed.
Cassia nodded, "We HAVE TO do that again."
"It was a lot of fun, until Ashley interrupted it all," I gave an annoyed expression, "She's just giving Jai a hard time at this point. Why doesn't she just leave him alone?!"
Sami extended her hand and laid it over mine, "Hey, she's trying to fix something that she broke in the past.
"She's trying to make up for running away from her problems."
I sighed, understanding.
I turned to Cassia, "Did something happen with Kai? You guys seemed extremely close while we were leaving."
She became silent.
Her lips then stretched into a shy smile,
"Well,"
Sami and I looked at each other in confusion.
"We kissed."
Sami and I shot our heads to Cassia,
"YOU GUYS K-"
Cassia stood up covering both our mouths.
"Can you guys shut up?!" she hissed, "YES, we KISSED."
She sat back down and let out a breath.
Our mouths were still wide open.
"Well, so did Sidharth and I." Sami giggled.
They both then looked at me, expecting something.
I shook my head, "Nope, nothing happened."
They groaned in annoyance.
"But that's not even the important part," I spoke,
"You guys know what happened 9 years ago."
Both their expressions immediately became serious.
I let out a breath.
Just rip it off like a band-aid Sahana.
3 three of us were silent after I finished speaking.
They couldn't believe what they were hearing.
"So you're telling me Jai's father saved you, but died while trying to kill the kidnapper?" Sami asked.
"Yes. I finally find out who Jai's father was."
"Who that man was, in all the photos Jai had of his family."
I smiled, "It's only brought him and I closer."
Sami sat back on her chair, trying to comprehend everything.
"It's fate."
We shifted our attention to Cassia.
I laughed, "Pfft stop being cheesy."
She rolled her eyes, " But you can't deny that the two of you were meant for each other, Sahana," she said.
"Is there even a sliver of any sort of feelings towards Jai?"
I was silent.
They waited for my response.
Slowly my lips formed a smile.
"HELL YEA." Sami and Cassia yelled high fiving each other.
I laughed and rested my chin on my hand.
I think I do like Jai.
Jai P.O.V. 5:00 p.m.
I dreaded leaving my apartment to meet her.
She texted me the location of where she wanted to meet.
A tiny park with a big fountain in the middle of it.
I sat on a nearby bench, and waited for her.
Meanwhile, I tried thinking of different ways I can confess to Sahana.
Should I say it tonight?
Should I call her to my apartment or go to hers?
How should I even start the conversation?
Oh hi Sahana! I'm madly in love with you. Ok, bye! Like what the actual-
"Jai!"
I turned to the voice.
There she was.
Walking towards me.
She sat down next to me on the bench.
I looked away from her at the fountain, "Why'd you want to talk? I already said everything that was on my mind yesterday."
"I wanted to talk to you because of what happened yesterday.
"I still haven't had the chance to say everything."
I stayed silent.
"Yes, I didn't deserve you, right when I had the tiniest feelings for Jailen."
"I'm a terrible person. I know that. And again, I'm sorry."
"Are you just saying this for me to pity you." I scoffed.
"Just listen to me." she had a serious tone in her voice.
Just like how I remembered, when she used to get mad.
"You are an amazing, caring, hardworking human being."
"You and I know both know, that you deserve someone better."
"You and I know that she's is out there."
"You and I, in fact, know that someone."
I looked at her confused, "What are you talking about?"
She rolled her eyes, "You know what and who I'm talking about."
"That woman who was holding hands with you yesterday. At the amusement park."
"She's that someone."
"And if you have any sort of feelings toward her, what are you waiting for?"
"I mean, you never know what she's thinking."
Sahana P.O.V.
I sat on my couch just staring at myself through the mirror of the T.V.
I like Jai.
But do I just like him?
It just doesn't sound right.
Something inside me feels like I'm lying to myself.
I rubbed my temples, "Do I just like him? Or is it something more?"
I opened my laptop and read an article.
"Love is not just an emotion or a feeling."
"It's a gesture."
"An act."
"You DO love."
"You're the one that DECIDES to do it."
The truth is a part of me was scared to get intimate with any man.
I've rejected several men because of my fear.
It's all because of one man, who was able to cause so much trauma in my life.
And because of that,
9 years later,
I was still afraid.
I was alone in that abandoned place.
It was just me who was getting tortured and almost raped.
Just the thought of any man touching my body in an intimate way, brought shivers down my spine.
But things slowly started to change.
And this is also because of only one man.
Jai Leonis.
Before at times, the little things such as when he grabbed my wrist, was triggering.
But now that time has passed,
and I've spent so much time just next to him,
it felt nice when HE SPOONED ME.
LIKE TALK ABOUT A CRAZY ASS IMPROVEMENT.
He's made me comfortable around him.
I'm able to do things to him,
that I wouldn't have been able to with other guys,
all without being so tense about it.
He cared for me,
like no man I've met before,
ever did.
I mean, besides my dad.
He was right there when I had my nightmare.
He was beside me for the whole night.
He held my hand close to him, never letting go.
The things Jai and I have done for each other,
brought us to a level beyond being just friends.
But neither of us realized.
At least I didn't.
For this long, I was too blind to even realize my feelings toward him.
It was the time.
He waited patiently.
He knew when to give me space.
And with that,
steadily I became more open.
And there he stood.
Welcoming me into his arms.
Ready to take me in.
My vision became blurry.
A tear fell to the floor.
The memories of all our moments together flew through my mind.
The good ones.
The sad ones.
The quiet ones.
The loud ones.
The awkward ones.
The crazy ones.
The ones where I made it my top priority just to see a smile on his face.
The ones where he showed me affection in the most random times, yet those were when I somehow really needed it the most.
It's because he knew.
We don't need to tell each other, when we want one another's presence in our eyes.
I've always wanted him to be next to me.
I hate myself for not realizing it any sooner.
When I said 'I love you' to him, I didn't fully know what feeling it had behind it.
It was lost.
It rolled off my tongue like it was nothing.
It didn't give any sign of actual intimate love, or friendly love.
But those were the first times I ever said it to him.
I was confused.
Both at myself and at the question of what love is.
"Love is not just an emotion or feeling."
"It's a gesture."
"An act."
"You DO love."
"You're the one that DECIDES to do it."
I decided to do it.
It's clear now.
I love him.
"I'm in love with Jai Leonis."
"See now THAT sounds right."
"I need to tell him."
"I don't even care if he doesn't feel the same way.
"I have to tell him."
I grabbed the keys to his apartment and opened the door.
Only to see Amiga wagging her tail at me.
"Where is he?" I brought her back to my apartment and took my phone out.
Me: Hey where are u? Can we talk?
Me: I need to tell you something.
A/N P.O.V
"I mean, you never know what she's thinking."
Suddenly Jai felt a buzz from his phone.
His eyes slightly widened
Sahana: Hey where are u? Can we talk?
Sahana: I need to tell you something
He looked at Ashley,
"It's her."
A smile formed through her lips,
"Then what are you doing, sitting here?
"Go."
Jai hated to admit it, but Ashley was right.
After stressing out all day,
finally,
this is the perfect opportunity.
He stood up and took a deep breath.
Ashley gave him a nod, before he ran to his car. Jai drove as fast as he could. He continued taking deep breaths in and out, to calm his sudden adrenaline rush.
He finally reached the garage, leaping out of his car. He ran to the elevator, ramming the button repeatedly until the doors opened. Moments later, he entered and tried to patiently wait as he went up.
The doors opened once again.
He headed to Sahana's apartment.
There he stood.
Right in front of her door.
He closed his eyes and released his last breath before knocking.
Almost instantly, the door swung open.
His eyes landed on the person he was looking for.
The person he was longing for.
The tears forming in her eyes gave a sparkle to them.
"Hi," a laugh escaped her,
"I just suddenly thought about you,"
"and wanted to see you."
Jai stared at her from outside the entrance.
He knew he couldn't hold back anymore.
He knew he couldn't control himself anymore.
His heart raced.
In seconds he walked up to Sahana, holding her face in his hands,
tilting it up,
and smashed his lips against hers.
He's been waiting for this moment ever since he can remember.
All he did was look at them for the longest time.
He finally got to feel the softness of her plump lips.
But he suddenly pulled away and walked a couple of steps back,
"Oh my god."
"I'm so sorry."
"I didn't mean to just suddenly do that without a reason."
He looked down, not even able to keep eye contact with her, but eventually spoke.
"Sahana."
"I wish I realized this sooner but,"
"I'm in love with you."
"I have been in love with you ever since I can remember."
"When I said it to you this morning I didn't mean it as a friend, I meant it as something el-"
Jai was interrupted when he felt a pair of hands bring up his face, and press lips with his.
Sahana passionately kissed him back.
Jai was surprised to say the least by her action.
Sahana brought her face back and looked up at Jai smiling,
"I'm in love with you too."
"For the longest time, I hadn't realized it either."
"But then it all literally slapped me in the face."
"All the memories that we have together."
"Everything that's happened."
"Ever since I laid eyes on you."
"Even when,"
"I tied you to my chair," she laughed.
"I love you Jai."
"So much."
"To the point where I can't even put it to words."
Jai couldn't describe the emotions he felt, when he heard those words come out of her.
He wrapped his arms around Sahana's waist, pulling her closer to his body.
Slowly again, he connected his lips with hers.
Sparks flew.
They both felt a sudden rush of excitement and energy in their bodies.
Sahana longed for this moment.
The feeling of his lips against hers.
The way they moved along with hers.
The way he held her tightly against him.
She slid her hands and held his face.
Her fingertips crept into his hair.
A tear slipped down her cheek in happiness.
Both of them didn't want this moment to end.
