Chapter 13 - Party Disaster, Broken Heart
Cassidy's P.O.V.
I was already awake the next morning, earlier than the alarm clock that I had set last night. I got up and got out of bed, while gathering my clothes that were set out, and walked into the bathroom. After my morning routine, I walked downstairs. On the coffee table, was the bag of items I sent Lucas out to buy yesterday. I sighed and grabbed the bag, walking back up to my room. In the bag was the contact lenses along with the substance that I needed to use to mix before dripping some of it onto the contacts. I quickly got to work before the rest of the crew woke up. I set up the four contact lenses cases on the table. I looked at my alarm clock and saw I only have about an hour and 20 minutes before everyone else woke up. I sat down and started working. Thanks, mum; for leaving the journal behind for me...and everything else. Without it, we would've been hopeless...or dead by now.
When the four of us got to school, we had the contact lenses on perfectly. Even though the four of us had perfect vision, we just bought regular contacts that had no prescription, I remember the eye doctor looking at us weirdly, but he let it go. I opened my locker and a note slipped out. May, Keith, and Lucas stopped talking as I bent down and grabbed it. I stood back up and opened it.
It read:
Cass! Hey there, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I'm in your Art class, anyways it's Kevin. I'm having a party tomorrow night and I wondered if you could come. Bring anyone you want, including Keith, Lucas, and May.
When: 8:00 pm; Saturday, December 1st
Keith knows where I live, so ask him for my address! Hope you can make it!
I looked up at the rest of the crew, who were looking at the note curiously. I sighed and grabbed my textbooks I needed for class. As we walked into homeroom, Saxon and the guys were already there. I tried hard to ignore them...which wasn't easy...since I was hanging on a very thin thread...it doesn't make it any easier since my seat is behind him. I sat down and looked through my agenda.
"What did the note say?" asked Lucas. His seat was next to me. He sat on the table and looked down at me. I just shrugged.
"Kevin-," I started, but was rudely cut off...by Keith.
"Kevin? From our Art class?" he asked.
"Yes," I scowled, " as I was saying, before I was interrupted, Kevin invited all four of us to his party tomorrow. Do you guys want to go?"
"Hell yes!" exclaimed Keith, while fist pumping the air.
"His parties are legendary, even college people go to them," said Keith.
May squealed. "I definitely want to go, Cass, we should go shopping after school for a dress!" I should've remembered...May loved parties.
"Sounds fun," said Lucas while smirking. I raised an eyebrow at him. He just nodded his head towards Peter and Saxon. I looked over at them and saw them tense...very tense. I shook my head with a smile creeping on my face, oh Lucas, what are we goin' to do with you?
"Then it's decided, we're all going to the party. Oh Keith, Kevin says that you know his address?" I said, even though it sounded like a question.
"Yeah, remember that day when I had to stay after school?" he asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Well, Kevin ended up staying after too, and so we got along pretty well, so I went over to his place to hang out," he said.
"Oh, okay," I said. Keith grinned when he looked over at Saxon and Peter. I shook my head, with silent laughter. Keith and Lucas could be like brothers almost, it's just, they're not.
"Okay class, settle down -- Lucas, get off the table!" scolded to teacher. I laughed as Lucas jumped off and sat in his chair. He shot me a 'shut up' look as I continued to snicker. I heard Keith and May snickering too. I looked back and saw them shaking since they were holding in their laughter.
"Will ya' stop laughing at me?!" screeched Lucas. That did it. Keith, May, and I burst out laughing. Oh God. He sounded like a little girl.
"D-Dude! Not...e-even...M-May o-or...C-C-Cass...screeches...l-like that!" exclaimed Keith, managing to choke out those words. I saw the teacher biting his lip, obviously trying hard not to laugh.
"O-Oh God!" I exclaimed while laughing, I was clutching my stomach, since it was hurting so bad from all the laughing. Lucas flushed pink and looked away, that only made me laugh harder.
"O-Oh...my G-God! L-Lucas is...blushing!" I said. Lucas sneered at me.
"You know, you're the worst cousin ever," he stated. I laughed and shook my head.
"Y-You know y-you love me," I said, pretending to wipe the tears away.
"Yeah...but I'm reconsidering that," he mumbled. I chuckled and leaned my head on his shoulder. His arm came around my waist, giving me a sideways hug. I noticed Saxon was tense...again. When he turned around, his eyes locked with mine, but I quickly looked away. I heard his wolf whine, but I tried to ignore it.
Oh man, today was going to be a long day.
~~Saxon's P.O.V.~~
Today was Saturday. Yesterday went by, slowly I might add. I was currently getting ready for Kevin's party, of course I was invited, just this time I was only going because Cass was going, and I had one plan on mind.
~~Cassidy's P.O.V.~~
I was getting ready with May in my room, for Kevin's party. I don't know why, but I had an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, like something bad was bound to happen, I quickly dismissed it. May and I went to Forever 21 and found a dress for the both of us. Mine was a spaghetti strap dress. It was cream colored with a sweetheart neckline. The sweetheart neckline was studded with gold colored gems. May's dress was exactly like mine, but in black. I completed my look with curled hair, simple make-up, and light pink toe-pumps. May completed her look with straight hair, simple make-up, and black toe-pumps. We exited my room, and steadily made our way downstairs. When we made it downstairs, Keith and Lucas whistled as we made a small circle for them. I looked over Keith and Lucas. They looked pretty good too. They both had on dark wash jeans, white button up shirts, and white nike's. Their hair was style messily, like a bed head kind.
"Damn, we look hot!" I exclaimed. Everyone laughed and agreed. We all made our way into Keith's car and took off to Kevin's house.
A couple minutes later, we made it. The house was already full and the party seemed to be in full swing. The house was literally shaking with the booms of the music escalating out. The door was wide open, people were out on the lawn either trying to cool down, or just talking with friends. There were red cups everywhere, also drunk people laying on the grass, knocked out. When we stepped out of the car, everyone looked over towards us, but I also noticed a familiar car across from us. Saxon's car. Oh Lord, hopefully nothing happens tonight.
May squealed and dragged Lucas inside. Well, there goes two people, who are obviously going to get drunk tonight. Keith was swarmed with girls immediately. All desperate girls asking him to dance. I chuckled lightly and moved around the house.
"Cass! Damn, you look hot!" said a familiar voice. I looked over at where the voice was and saw Kevin grinning at me. I walked up to him and hugged him.,
"Thanks, and thanks for inviting me. This party is amazing," I said.
"No problem, and isn't it?! Enjoy yourself!" he shouted before walking away. I chuckled and went to the dance floor. I was dancing with some girls who were nice to me, who were also in my English class.
It was currently midnight, and I was desperately looking for Lucas, Keith, or May. I continued searching. When I was dancing with the girls, I saw Saxon sitting in the corner, talking to some girls who were desperately trying to get his attention, but even though he was talking to the girls, he was watching me dance. I walked up the stairs and walked into the bedroom...where May, Keith, and Lucas was...along with Saxon and the guys, who were also with Kevin and some other people. May looked up and squealed.
"Come play Cass!" she said. Well...she's drunk. I walked over to her and sat down next to her on the couch, crossing my legs, don't need to give the guys in this room a show...
"What are you playing?" I asked.
"Never Have I Ever," said Keith. I nodded.
"Hand me a cup," I said. Keith handed me a cup and poured Vodka in it. My first alcohol tonight.
"Alright, Never Have I Ever..." started Keith.
"been caught naked," Keith finished. Kevin, Leo, Peter, Saxon, and some other people sipped their cup, but when Saxon took a drank, he looked over at me. I remember clearly. It was when he was in the forest, doing those three girls. Since I was next to Keith, it was my turn.
"Never Have I Ever...lied when I told someone my secrets," I said. I watched as no one took a sip, although my eyes were trained on Saxon. Next was May.
"Never Have I Ever...gotten so drunk that I needed someone to come pick me up." said May. I watched as everyone took a sip but me. Yup, I don't drink alcohol that much. It was Lucas' turn.
"Never Have I Ever...been in an uncomfortable silence," he said. Everyone took a sip.
"Never Have I Ever...murdered someone," said Saxon. May, Keith, and Lucas tensed up as I stared straight into Saxon's eyes, not showing any of my emotions. None of us took a sip, although Keith, Lucas, May, and I lied. Since we've killed a-lot of people, but for a reasonable reason.
We were 20 minutes into the game, all the questions Saxon seemed to ask, were pointed towards me. I knew he wanted to try and to get some reaction out of me, but I had to say, the things he asked were hurtful. He asked things like if I've ever cheated on someone, broke someone's heart, and all that crap, does he really think I've done those things?
It was my turn and I had one question I had to ask. "Never Have I Ever...lied when I said I love you."
I stared straight into Saxon's eyes, he knew this question was aimed at him. I watched he brought the cup up to his lips and drink all the Vodka in it. All while he stared me straight in the eyes, no emotion flickering through his eyes. That's when I realized, he lied every time he said I love you...to me.
Ouch. That hurts.
