Wrapped Around Your Finger
Luke:
You were mine for a night, I was out of my mind
"Whatcha doin here, y/n?" your best friend, Ashton asks you as you walk down the stairs of the 5SOS house at 9 am.
"Oh I slept on the couch last night, I got tired, but I was looking for a phone charger."
"Oh. Do you want mine? It's in the kitchen."
"Yeah, thanks." you say, jogging into the kitchen and plugging in your phone.
You walk back out and sit next to Ashton on the couch. You see Luke walking down the stairs and he tiredly smiles at you. You try to shyly smile so Ashton doesn't notice, and thankfully, he doesn't. Luke walks into the kitchen to presumably get some food. You and Ashton sit silently, watching some boring morning talk show. You lean your head on his shoulder, as you're still pretty tired from the night before. You hear footsteps and you turn and see Luke running up the stairs. You think nothing of it until it's 30 minutes later and he's still there. You excuse yourself to go to the bathroom and you sprint up the stairs into his room.
"Hey." you smile.
He's sitting on his bed, looking at his phone. He looks up at you.
"What's up?" you try to casually ask.
He shrugs.
You look at his phone and realize the phone is off.
"Are you okay?" you say, taking a step closer to you.
"I don't know." he mumbles.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't..."
"If you say I don't know, I swear to God, Luke."
He sighs.
"Luke." you whisper.
"It's just that, like, when I went into the kitchen, I saw your phone and you were getting texting notifications from a guy asking if you were free tonight and he had a smiling emoji next to his name, so I figured that you maybe really liked him. And I know that you were mine only for tonight, but I guess I was out of my mind when I thought it could be anything more than a one-night stand."
"Luke, I would never just up and ditch you like that. I only have one person in my contacts with a smiling emoji, and it's this dude I met a few weeks ago who put his number in like that and keeps texting me over and over again asking if I'm free. I tell him that I'm hanging out with you every single time he's asked."
"Why? He seems like a nice lad." he mumbles and sets his phone on his bedside table.
"Because... he isn't... you..." you mutter.
"So?"
"Luke, I really like you. I wouldn't just have a random one-night stand with one of my closest friends if I didn't like him a lot."
"You do?"
"Yes, Luke, I really like you."
"Well I like you too." he smiles.
Calum:
I don't know how to say goodbye
"Bye, Calum." you say, leaning up on your toes and pecking his lips. You're currently at the Hood household and you're the last to say goodbye. He pulls you in for a big hug and you hug him back. You don't want to let go, but you know that if you let your emotions show, then he'll get emotional, and you know that wouldn't be a good way to send him off around the world. You finally let go of him and he lets go of you seconds after.
"Bye Calum!" everyone seems to scream at once.
"Bye!" you chime in and start waving. He gets into the van and they pull out of the driveway. It's currently 11:30 pm and you decide to go home and get some sleep. You say your goodbyes to the family and head home. Just as you're about to start changing, you get a call from your best friend.
"Hey! I know you just went through a lot and I'm at your house. I brought the girls and we're gonna go to a club."
"I don't know if I'm ready for that..." you try to come up with an excuse as fast as possible, but she's faster.
"C'mon, y/n, we're all waiting for you. Just put on that black dress and come downstairs!"
You don't think you have any choice but to accept, because she isn't one to take no for an answer. You quickly put on the black dress and black heels. You grab your purse and phone and run out the door. You hop in shotgun and your best friend drives you and two of your other friends to the nearest club. You hop out and you smile a little bit. It was where you and Calum had met. You were both the designated drivers for the night and you ended up exchanging numbers. You see a paparazzi in the bushes, but you ignore it. You walk into the club with three of your closest friends and you try to enjoy the night without Calum. You take a few shots then order a beer. You start dancing around in your drunken state and you just forget about everything. You had been sad for so long that Calum was leaving that you knew you needed a little break from being sad. You decided that tonight was your only crazy night while he was gone. Eventually, your friends decide it's time to head home and they all crash at your house. You wake up to the sound of your phone ringing and you roll over and groan. You have a massive headache and everything seems quite bright. You answer the call without looking at the screen and you smile when you hear Calum's voice on the other end.
"Hey babe." he says. You can tell he's sad but you ignore it. You know he doesn't want it pointed out.
"Hey." you say, then realize how loud you sound.
"What's up?" he says, a little too casually.
"Not much." you whisper.
"What are you hiding?" he whispers back.
"My hangover." you giggle back.
"Did you get drunk last night? Please tell me it wasn't with my family."
"No, Y/BFF/N took me out to the club last night."
"Oh." he says, obviously hurt.
"Is that okay?"
"Yeah, I guess, I just thought it was our thing."
"Well that doesn't mean I can't go there with my best friends."
"Yeah." he says, emotionless.
"Calum, tell me if there's something bothering you. If you say there isn't, I'm hanging up." you say bluntly.
"I just... I don't know, I just didn't really think we had a good chance to say goodbye yesterday."
"What are you talking about? We said our goodbyes." you say, your throat clamming up.
"Yeah, I just wished it was something more."
"Like what we did like three nights ago?"
"No, not like that, but I don't know, just more than what we did."
"You know we can't go back in time right? I'm seeing you in three months in LA and you know we can do stuff then."
"Yeah, but I just really miss you." he says, pleading for something more.
"Calum. I know how you feel. But you also know that I'm horrible at goodbyes. I just don't know how to properly say goodbye. You know I hate saying it, no matter the circumstance, and I don't like the inevitability of it. Can we please drop it?"
"I guess."
"Calum, I swear..." you start.
"No, no. You're right. I promise. I won't bring it up again. I love you, y/n."
"I love you too, Calum."
Ashton:
Making all our plans in that Santa Cruz sand that night
You lay there in the sand in the moonlight in the arms of your fiancee, Ashton, who in fact, as of three hours earlier, was only your boyfriend. He's keeping you warm and you're keeping him warm. It's perfect. You lay there in silence, just watching the stars.
"Hey y/n." he whispers, breaking the quietness.
"Yeah?" you say, looking at him.
"Have you ever thought of our future?"
"Well yeah, of course, we're gonna get married soon."
"How soon?"
"I'm thinking sometime around November."
"Me too." he sighs and the silence comes back.
"How about kids?"
"What about them."
"How many do you want?"
"I was thinking three."
"What would you name them?"
"I was thinking something like Luca."
"And the others?"
"I haven't thought that far ahead."
"I've always liked the name Sophia." he smiles.
"I like that too."
"Would you want to move somewhere else?"
"Maybe. I like our house here, though. I've always wanted to travel though."
"What colors are the flowers going to be at the wedding?"
"Well my favorite color is yellow."
"I like yellow." he sighs.
"Ashton?"
"Yeah?"
"Why are you asking me all these questions?"
"Because I love to hear your answers. And I love knowing that this will be my future."
Michael:
Screaming at the top of my lungs till my chest felt tight
You loved that he had taken you to an amusement park. You had told him a few months back that you loved them, and while on tour, he finally had time to take you to one. For the very last ride of the day, you drag your best friend to the biggest roller coaster and he reluctantly agrees. The line doesn't take too long and you take the front row seat. The ride starts and takes an immediate drop. He screams loudly and you giggle. You grab his hand and hold it in the air so he can't hold on. You look at the terrified expression on his face, but doing so causes you not to see the next drop. You scream just as loud as Michael does and the rest of the ride is spent screaming. You get off and he looks paler than usual. You walk out to the car and he still looks a little scared, so you silently agree to drive home and he gets into the passenger's seat. You get to the hotel and you both sit down on the bed. You turn on spongebob to cool down until his phone rings.
"Hey babe." he answers.
Of course, his girlfriend calls when you're finally catching up with your best friend. She was easily the most jealous person on earth, but Michael was yours for the tour. Not in that way but you got to hang out with him all the time and she hated it. Suddenly, he stands up and steps outside the room. You sigh and lay down on the bed dramatically. You hear muffled screaming and you stand up and look out the peephole and see Michael pacing around and screaming into the phone. You watch his facial expression get sadder and sadder until he finally stops yelling and hangs up the phone. He runs his hand through his hair, then knocks on the door. You wait a second then open it. He falls into your arms and you hold him. He begins crying into your shoulder. After enough time has past, you decide to help him figure out whatever's going on.
"What happened?"
"She... broke up... with me." he stutters out.
"I'm so sorry, Michael." you say, sitting him down on the bed and grabbing his hands to show your support.
"She, she said she thought I wasn't being faithful, but that's all I've ever been."
"I'm sorry." you repeat.
"No, I'm sorry." he finally states.
"Why?"
"Because there's only one reason I was faithful to her."
"Why's that?"
"Because I always thought I'd never have a chance with you. I tried to move on and that's when I started dating her. I just always knew you were too good for me. But now that reality's sinking in, you're really the only person I know I can go out with. I've always loved you."
"Michael..." you start.
"No, just spare me the disappointment, I know you're answer."
"Michael."
"No, I don't want to hear it, I'm sorry I said anything." he stands up to walk out of the room but you grab his hand and pull him towards you. You grab his face and lean in for a kiss. He seems shocked at first, but leans more into the kiss, making it more special.
"I've felt the same way the whole time." you whisper.
