Cassia P.O.V.
His eyes, his hair, literally everything on this man.
No doubt did he seem familiar.
It was killing me that I didn't know who he was.
"Have we met before?" we both asked at the same time.
We continued observing each other, trying to find anything that would catch one another's eye and make them suddenly remember.
But no, not for me.
Unfortunately, all this man showed was undeniable beauty.
Slightly messy, light brown curls sprung out of his head.
Golden tan skin covered his structured face, letting all the rest of his unique features be displayed.
I could identify a vague number of freckles on his cheeks and nose.
Surprisingly, the man had a somewhat of a petite nose, but that wouldn't distract anyone.
At least not me.
I was focused on something way more distinctive.
His eyes.
Green orbs with splashes of yellow and blue appeared right at a perfect view for me.
I couldn't look away from them.
Thankfully though, the man did.
He looked up tapping his chin, taking glances at me.
But that, unfortunately, revealed the sharp line of his jaw.
My mouth slightly gaped in disbelief.
A Greek God is in my presence.
Suddenly, I heard a loud vibration that snapped me out of my thoughts.
I checked my pockets if it was me but then heard,
"Oh wassup Jaii."
Jai?
As in Sahana's Jai?
I shot my head up to see the man continue to speak on his phone, this time with a huge smile on his face.
My knees felt weak.
I quickly bent down behind the counter and got a hold of them.
"How can a man possess such powers of attraction?" I sighed.
"Come on Cassia get yourself together." I whispered lightly slapping my cheeks and got up.
The man was sliding his phone back into his pocket, completely unaware of me disappearing.
Thank god.
Wait, didn't he mention Jai?
Then it hit me.
I snapped my finger in realization, catching his attention and pointed at him,
"You're Jai's friend, right? We met at the café a long time ago!"
His mouth opened and covered his face with his hands nodding, "Ohhh my god, YEAA! You're Sahana's friend!"
I rapidly nodded, "Yeah, I'm Cassia Menon if you don't remember."
The man removed his hands from his face, "I'm Kai Adair, if you don't remember either." He extended his hand out.
As calm and cool as possible I shook his hand.
Then he smiled again.
Fuck.
I felt my knees become weak.
No no no THIS IS NOT THE TIME.
My lower body started to feel numb.
I was going down.
But suddenly I felt his grasp on my hand become tighter, as he leaned over the counter, grabbing my shoulder.
"Woah there, are you ok Cassia?" Kai brought me back up, and I just continued to stare.
He loosened his grip on my hand, and placed it on my other shoulder,
"Cassia, can you hear me? Are you ok?"
I was stuck in my own Lalaland until he snapped his fingers in front of my face, bringing me back to reality.
"Huh, what? Oh y-yeah I'm fine." I laughed awkwardly.
I could see those plump rose-filled lips slowly stretch,
but before it could finish into that masterpiece of a smile,
I covered my eyes, subtly trying to act as if they were itching.
"Is something in your eye, Cassia? Do you need help, I can blow on it."
"NO NO I'M PERFECTLY FINE. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TO ME. THANK YOU THOUGH, KAI." I put a hand out, shaking my head.
"O-ok then. How much is the medicine?" he asked taking out his wallet.
I stopped "itching" but still acted like it was bothering me.
All so I don't see him smile.
Oh my god what is wrong with me.
I scanned the bottle, "$6.95."
Kai's eyes widened, "Really, that's it?!"
"All the other pharmacies charge so much?!"
"Oh my god I'm coming here every time now."
I chuckled, "We will look forward to it."
Kai looked around, "Yeah, this pharmacy is really nice. Do you know the owner of it?"
I smiled,
"You're looking right at her."
Kai's gasped then bowed his head, "I feel so honored."
He raised his head.
Then I could see it coming from a mile away,
"Oh my god what the hell is in my eye??" I turned around, rubbing it.
"It's been bothering you for a while now, are you sure it's ok?" I heard from behind me.
"Oh yeah don't worry, it's probably an eyelash or something."
"Ok well thanks for the medicine, it's nice seeing you again Cassia."
I waved my hand, "Of course, nice meeting you again Jai!" I could hear the clicks of his shoes travel further and further.
Then I heard the bell ring as the door opened,
"Wait, Cassia?"
I turned around, and stopped "itching" my eye,
"Yea?"
Kai closed the door behind him, entering back in,
"Do you want to have lunch with me?"
I was startled by his question.
Literally Apollo here, is asking the Walmart version of Shrek, for lunch.
"Ah, sorry I already have lunch from home, sorry."
I'm going to regret saying that for the rest of my fucking life.
He nodded, understanding, "Oh ok, that's fine," as he started leaving once again, "Maybe another time?"
I quickly nodded, "Yep, for sure."
"OK COOL! Well, I'm gonna actually leave now. Bye Cassia." I waved, smiling.
But then my worst nightmare came.
It came out of nowhere.
Those lips stretched as far as they could,
revealing shiny white perfectly straight teeth,
with dimples forming on the sides.
My heart stopped.
Kai closed the door behind him and left.
I froze with my hand still up.
Then before I could even think to bring it back down,
I felt my lower body wobble and lose balance.
Well it was nice living for this long.
I'll see you up there in about 2 seconds God.
