"Here," Evan said putting the plate of pancakes drizzling with maple syrup and whipped cream in front of Connor.
As much as he appreciated and loved the caring gesture of bringing the breakfast to his bed sadly coffee, toasts and boiled eggs wouldn't do enough for him. He needs a proper breakfast that can keep them both going till lunch and seeing how excited Connor is getting about the planning he has done for the day Evan could contemplate that they would be kept busy.
He took a trip back to the kitchen to get his own plate. Settling on the sofa in the living room he looked outside at the grey clouds. It has been raining a lot lately even though summer is still bidding its last days. He checked on his phone that he configured last night before going to sleep. The weather forecast shows a light shower in the late afternoon.
He looked at Connor to tell him about this small problem but the mini smile that couldn't seem to leave his lips at all had him holding himself back. Connor is really excited for this and since it is a working day so Evan knows that Connor has taken off especially for today. This little gesture from the other male makes small butterflies flutter in his stomach.
Guess he could manage a light rain if it means to not disappoint Connor.
"So, are you going tell me what have you planned or should I keep guessing?" Evan asked after swallowing a mouthful of sweet goodness. He moaned internally... that's a good pancake.
"You can keep guessing. I am not telling you anything, it would ruin the surprise." Connor said pointing his fork at him.
"What surprise?" Evan asked narrowing his eyes. He is not good with surprises as most of the time he is left more in shock than surprised.
"You'll know when you'll see it. It's nothing much though so don't need to worry about it." Evan was still not convinced with Connor's nonchalant tone but he knows there is no use in forcing it out. If Connor says that he wouldn't tell than very little could be done to change that. Living with him for the past few days has made Evan learn a lot about Connor, most of them are little things that he has learnt all by himself just by observing the other male.
For example, Connor has a habit of flaring his nose occasionally and it is so random that he does it anytime without any reason or how his left eyebrow is pointed at the end like a correct tick mark and he often raises it when giving a look with his left eye. Connor has a weird habit of rubbing his face or touching his features often times. He can be sitting doing nothing and his hands would move on their own to his face or some part of it.
One thing that is obvious to anyone who stays even a little time with him is his habit of shaking both his legs. He does it all the time no matter if he is sitting, standing or lying down. At first, it was so annoying that Evan had a hard time concentrating on anything else when his leg would start shaking suddenly, he tried to stop it but just after three days, he gave up when the hand he would put on Connor's leg to stop the shaking would also start moving with it.
So, now he has given up on it but sometimes advises Connor to see a doctor about this bad habit.
There are many other things he had noticed too but they are all random like above few. However, it is also true that it is these small things that makeup one whole Connor. Evan has a tiny fetish for beauty marks and Connor has a bunch of them. Some of them are on places that are hard to see until you are really paying attention to that specific place. Like one below his left eye that is so close to his eyelashes that you have to be really close to him to see it. Another is on his right thigh near the groin that he only got to see when they were having sex. One is right below the heart and double-A tattoo on his left arm appearing as if a drop is falling of the heart when it is a beauty mark instead. There are few others that he recently noticed and made a point in his mind to give each of them special attention when they engage in intercourse next time.
A loud thundering sound caught both the men's attention as they looked outside the window. It wasn't raining but the sky was so heavy with tiny water drops that it seems anytime there will be tears of clouds wetting everyone on the crawling ground.
Connor was the first to finish his breakfast soon followed by Evan. Washing and cleaning the plates both the men agreed to meet ten minutes later as they parted ways to change into something better than pyjamas.
Connor dressed into a full-sleeved white t-shirt with horizontal blue parallel stripes in middle and red chinos fitting quite snugly to his muscular legs. On top of the t-shirt, he completed the look with a sleeveless denim jacket and pair of black and white sneakers. He was looking a few years younger than his actual age and it sure added to his already enough sex appeal. At the other side, Evan went with a pink turtleneck and a white sleeveless jacket that was also waterproof. Faded dark blue washed jeans and brown boots that made a sound like when walking on marble floor he finished by adding a silver chained watch on his left wrist.
As agreed ten minutes later both the men were standing in the living room complementing each other looks more in their mind than in their words. Evan thought Connor looked boyishly handsome while Connor liked Evan as some cute teddy bear who acts all rough but is cuddly and plush from inside. Simple to say both of them were successful in their mission to attract the others attention.
Moving down to the ground floor Evan greeted the new guard sitting there who was on shift right now and then moved outside to wait for Connor to arrive from the parking lot. Minutes later the blue Porsche made its appearance again to Evan in all its glory and power.
Settling inside the comfortable and expensive car Evan breathed the familiar ocean breeze scent of the car freshener making his nerve settle down slightly.
"Ready?" Connor asked flashing him a small smile.
Evan felt awestruck for a moment stupefied by the raw beauty of the handsome man in front of him. The sunlight reflecting off his blue eyes did nothing to help but increased the beauty of those two deep blue pools even more. When Connor got no answer seeing Evan's faraway look he snapped his fingers in front of his face catching Evans attention.
"You alright?" he asked frowning a little.
"Yeah, yeah sorry I got spaced out a little. I am ready." Evan answered the last part with a pause.
"Okay, then. I hope you enjoy it today." Connor said while roaring the engine once before accelerating forward.
Somewhere between the ride, Evan started the radio and soon enough both of them were humming to it. The roads were busy with the traffic and the people were in even more hurry due to the darkening weather. It could rain any moment and everyone wanted to reach their destination clean and dry.
It was half an hour journey before Connor gave an indicator and their car slowed down moving to the side of the road. Evan looked out and saw the board of the local zoo.
He stared at the sign stupidly and then turned his gaze back to Connor. Is he serious? He wondered.
Evan has no problem with visiting the zoo and all but it would rain cats and dogs any minute now and he is taken them here in out open? Connor got out and quickly moved to his side to open the gate but Evan beat him to it coming out by himself. Connor pouted feeling disappointed with it he really wanted to open the gate and then grab Evan's hand helping him to step out. It was adorable and cute in his eyes but humiliating and cheesy in Evan's.
Evan so much wanted to voice his doubt about this destination but kept quiet for some reason. They moved to the entrance and bought two tickets. Entering the place Evan tried to cheer up his mood and enjoy the time here no matter how short it is however instead of moving towards the Deer Park which was next to the entrance and first enclosure Connor kept walking straight.
Evan stood there confused with this until Connor turned to look at him with a grin and asked if he is going to come or not?
Evan quickly jogged closer to him and started walking beside him. Even though he was stopping himself but his curiosity got the better of him "Are we not going to see the animals here?" he asked looking at Connor who smiled wider hearing it.
"We will but not here." He replied a moment later. Evan was completely lost as they kept walking for another ten minutes or so, passing all the open grounds and cages now they were entering the area of the park with buildings and closed enclosures. Taking a turn near the small canteen and walking down a stony pathway soon Evan found himself standing in front of a blue and yellow building.
He remembers this one. He sure does from the few times he has visited the zoo before. It is his favourite attraction in the entire animal park and the most crowded one too 'The Water World'. He loves sea life and the different creatures that live in that wet air always fascinated him to no end. He always wanted to become a scuba diver or a marine biologist as a child and if it weren't for his inability to swim and fear of deep he would have surely pursued his dream.
When he moved to this city the first time he visited the zoo with Steven the part that most excited him was this building that had a small sea world inside. Unfortunately, the place is always crawling with miniature human pups to enjoy it properly. They are so small that they always stand in the front close to the glass walls and it becomes increasingly difficult for him to see things properly.
A quite ecstatic Evan passed Connor who stood there and moved to the entrance of the place when his eyes fell on the closed doors and a 'reserved' written board hanging on it. His mood took a complete 360-degree turn as he stood there feeling hopeless and sad.
"Why are you standing here? Don't you wanna go inside?" Connor's voice from his side took his attention as he looked at the taller male with sad eyes.
He pointed to the paper hanging on the door "It says reserved here. Some hotshot billionaire must have bribed the zoo authority to reserve it for their family or date. It's a pity, I wanted to see the place you know I love sea life."
Connor frowned at the first part not liking it one bit but the later had him smiling.
"It is alright. I am sure they wouldn't mind if we took a quick look around and don't disturb anything." He said pushing the door slightly open and peeking inside.
"Are you sure? What if they threw us out or fine us?" Evan asked worried and excited both and even though he was concerned about the results yet a part of him wanted to go in at any cost.
"Yes, I am sure. Now come on." Connor didn't wait for him to say anything and pulled Evan inside.
"Con- wait- Oh My God! It's so beautiful in here! they have made it even better than the last time I visited" Evan exclaimed looking around at the majestically painted and arranged walls and glass aquariums of fishes and other sea creatures.
Forgetting Connor and the blocking sign outside his attention was caught by the exotic sea animals. A few minutes later a zoo employee was disturbing them. Connor quick to his feet gave Evan a look as if to say he'll deal with it and took the employee away from him. Evan stared at them talking for a moment before his attention was attracted by a weird blue-red fish.
Moments later, Connor joined him back and the employee was nowhere in sight.
"What happened? Do we have to leave?" Evan asked unable to hide the disappointment in his voice. It is not every day you get the chance to see a place like this without those little creatures running around, squirming their way to the front and blocking all the view.
"No, I talked to them and they said it is alright to look around as long as we don't break anything. Plus the guy that booked this place is coming late in the evening so we have plenty of time for ourselves to enjoy." Connor said smiling wide.
"That's awesome, and I promise I wouldn't break anything. I'll just look around." Evan said to Connor as if assuring him he will help him to keep his word and Connor couldn't help but smile and reply with a shrug.
Outside the employee removed the reserved card and replaced it with booked and engaged while closing the door.
