CH. 70 I need a break
(Kassie POV)
I was still in the hospital when Chris told me he was on his way. I felt relief; having Chris near me always made me feel ease and relax.
It was like there was always a storm running inside of me, and I finally was able to see the sunshine or rainbow that came after the storm.
I never felt like I would ever come across someone who would make me feel anything like this, especially in the situation that I happened to find myself in.
You just never expect any of this to happen, I must admit that I never believed in any of this.
Finding someone who can make you feel that way is something that everyone should hold onto, I believe.
"Hello, everyone. How are you all feeling?" The Surgeon who operated on us came in.
She was a stunning black woman; I love seeing my ethnicity of women flourishing in different careers.
"I'm doing okay, thank you so much for asking. Did you operate on us?" I asked her.
"Oh, yes, I did. I'm Doctor Akila Corazon. I've removed the chip from each of you and made sure nothing would disturb you. Your neck will feel tense, and you all will feel a little soreness." She said.
"Thank you so much for doing that on short notice," Tiara said, and She smiled.
"It's okay really, Chris gave me a call, and I was already following up with the case, but I want to make sure you all are doing good well in a week, so I will call you all to ask so." She said, and my eyes widened, on her mentioning that she knew Chris.
"Thank you, Akila," Melanie said.
The Doctor smiled.
"It's no problem, Melanie, now you all enjoy your stay for the next couple hours. You will all be discharged today, as I'm sure you all are tired of the hospital." She said and laughed as we all nodded our heads in agreement that we all were.
"I'll go check on the others; please contact me whenever you need me. We'll be in touch." She said, giving us each a smile.
"Thank you." We all said. Smiling to her as well.
She left the room.
"Melanie, you know the Doctor?" Tiara asked.
"Yes, we both do actually," Dalton answered for Melanie.
"Small world," Tiara said.
Melanie laughed; the room seemed less tense now.
"She's pretty much in our circle, she's a good person, but oh, I'm glad we get to leave the hospital. " Melanie said.
"Oh yeah me too, It's just frustrating that we've been to them a lot," I said.
As soon as I finished my sentence, Chris came in.
He smiled softly as he saw me.
"How are you all feeling?" Chris asked us.
"Glad that the chip is out," Tiara said.
"Relieved that this is over," Melanie said.
"I need a vacation," I said, and everyone laughed.
"Yeah, I think we all need one right now," Tiara said.
"Agree," Melanie said, and Chris laughed as he walked up to me.
He pulled a chair next to my bed and sat down.
Everyone in the hospital room went talking amongst themselves.
Melanie was talking to her husband, Tiara talking to Dalton, Chris and I were talking.
I looked at Chris, already knowing.
I didn't want to say it out loud, so I mind linked him instead.
"Did you kill him?" I asked him in the mind link.
He looked at me, trying to search my face.
"Yes. Are you upset?" He asked me.
"No," I said, shaking my head.
I let out a sigh.
"He deserved it, I know he would take a chance of him getting out, and that's not something any of us wanted. So no, I'm not upset that he's dead. The fact that he was one of many sick sociopaths amongst was scary; it's good that he's gone, it's good that he can't hurt anyone else." I said to him.
Chris filled me in on what happened to the sociopath in prison, and my eyes widened when he told me how he found him in his cell.
"Wow, serves him right," I said, and he nodded his head.
I grabbed his hand ad squeezed it.
"How are you doing?" I asked him, his eyes widened.
"I want to know how you're doing, especially on the fact of what you did. You told me your story and the things that happened to you in the past. This is something that could affect you." I said, being concerned with his well being.
He smiled softly at me.
"Thank you, baby. I am fine." He said, bringing my hand up and kissing it.
"Let's go on vacation." He said.
I chuckled.
"I know, we've been talking about it," I said.
"Well, we are going to one." He said.
"Oh yeah? Where?" I asked him.
He smiled and shook his head.
"It's a surprise, can't tell you." He said.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him, a smile never leaving my face.
"Fine, I'm sure I'll love it, though," I said, staring at him.
"Every moment with you has been amazing," I said.
"Is that so?" He asked, and I nodded my head.
"Yes, you're my person," I said, staring at him with the amount of love I know was showing on my face.
"You're my person too." He said.
We spent the time talking to each other, and then before we knew it, it was time to leave.
I did ask him how he knew the surgeon, and he filled me in that she's a family friend and how they met.
He also told me something that happened to her that left my eyes widened.
"That's fucking horrible." He said, and he nodded his head.
"Everyone was upset over it. I can't wait for us to go on vacation." He said, smiling as we reach the house.
He parked the car, came to open my door for me, which made my heart leap that he was still behaving this way.
As we walked to the front door of the house and got in.
I asked him.
"So, when do we go on this vacation?" I let out a chuckle as he smiled at me.
"Tomorrow, so go pack." He said,
My eyes widened, causing him to laugh.
"I'm serious, let's go pack." He said, pulling my arm and rushing up the stairs.
I rushed up the stairs with him.
I was letting out giggles.
"It's going to be so much fun; we deserve it." He said as we reach the bedroom to pack.
"We do," I said.
He pulled me into a hug and kissed me.
"I'm so happy to have this vacation with you. I'll make it the best vacation. I promise." He said.
"It'll be the best because we'll be together," I said, smiling at him.
"Being with you makes me happy," I said, and he hugged me tighter.
"You're stuck with me for life, you know." He said, laughing.
"Well, that means you're stuck with me too."

Wow, these two have come so far, I can't wait to complete their story and give them their happily ever after.
Trust me; they're going to enjoy their vacation ;)
