As I push the door of the conference room a masculine smell hits my nostrils. Manik Malhotra is sitting in the empty room. I look at him rather try to check him out. He is looking dapper in a well fitted faded blue jeans teaming up with a spotless milk-white shirt. More precisely he is looking amorous. I glance at my clothes. Oh God...unknowingly we are twining. Trying to divert my concentration I apologise to him for this unplanned and uninformed meeting. What to do? My work is like that only. We are to fulfil the demand of our whimsical clients at any time of our life. Manik tries to stand up in respect while I wave him to sit. Ayesha places my laptop on the table and inserts the Pendrive. Within a minute a video flashes on the Led screen.
"Mr Malhotra, this is a video of one of our clients' house. Now, she wants to change the entire upholstery of her home. However, she doesn't want to change her room colours."
I point out the wall colours.
"Hmmm.... Ms Murthy, it seems that this client is very vibrant in her life. I mean who chooses so dark colour for a bedroom. Her living room is no less than this. She has used almost all sheds in this room."
Manik opines while observing every detail minutely. I look at him. This man is blunt but honest. Just like I wanted.
"Mr Malhotra, we are not here to criticise people's aesthetic sense but to provide them with our best solution. We are here to execute their imagination, though they are weird."
Manik turns to me. A nonchalant smile creeps on his lips.
"Of course, I too think so. If every person had the aesthetic sense then might be your company would have run in the loss. Thanks to their weird choice. So what do I have to do?"
I look at him for a while.
"Is this his attitude which makes him more desirable?"
I again glare at my inner Goddess. She is behaving like a nymphomaniac.
"You have to suggest me the best way out. But you have very less time for this. Because by the second half of the office hour I will have to instruct my suppliers to deliver all the materials as she needs this by day after tomorrow. I know it's a very short time but this is not the first time I am facing this."
I shrug in acceptance.
"Okay, No problem...That means I have nearly 3 hours for this. Enough for me. I will get back to you when I am done."
He sounds confident. I sag in relief.
"Ayesha will help and assist you."
Saying this I turn to Ayesha and then only I notice that she is lost in her la la land. The poor girl is gawking at Manik. She is so engrossed in her work that she doesn't even hear my second call.
"AYESHA..."
I yell this time which startles her. Manik bites his lips clears that he is very much aware of his charm and how it affects others. Suddenly I feel a pang in my heart and my all annoyance diverts to Manik from Ayasha.
"Mr Malhotra...that I will get to know when you will be as good as your words. You know...action is louder than words and only words never impress me."
I don't know why I sound so rude. But I feel a weird kind of possessiveness towards this guy whom I know only for a few days.
Manik scrunches his eyes to grok when I storm out of the room.
...........................................
What happened to this mercurial girl? She was polite and cordial since she entered the room. Then why did she behave so rudely just a few seconds before her exit? My eyes itch with rage. I close them to control my temper.
"Manik, tell me what kind of help you want? I am at your service."
The girl.. Ayesha..that clingy bimbo rests her hand on my shoulder ignites my anger more. I jerk her hand and leap up from my seat.
"I don't need your service. You better to serve your CEO."
I almost chide leaving Ayesha in shock. Before leaving the room I say again,
"One more advice. Please don't be so desperate for the next time. You look cheap. And Manik Malhotra is allergic to cheapness."
I vent out my frustration on this poor girl rather I want to grab Nandini's nape and kiss the living shit out of her. I thrust my fists to the pockets and depart.
........................................
"For how many times do I have to tell you Ruhi that I don't like disturbance during my works? Couldn't you wait for half an hour to take my signs?"
I raise my pitch unnecessarily. I don't know why am I behaving like this? But I am feeling very restless. I thought this complicated PPT will help me to be oblivious but I can't resist myself but continuously thinking about Manik. His mannerism, his body smell and of course his smirk when Ayesha was ogling him. My head again starts throbbing.
"Ma'am, these cheques have to be dispatched by today. That's why I thought to...."
Ruhi meeks out making me realise that I am overreacting. I beckon her to give me the bundle and start to sign.
"Ruhi, what's the time?"
I ask without glancing at the wall clock.
"2:30 pm, Ma'am."
Her information startles me. It's almost 3 hours since I had the meeting with Manik. That means his deadline is over and he is still not present with his works. My skin tightens across my forehead.
"Connect me to Mr Malhotra."
I say with clear annoyance. Within a minute, she connects the line.
"Mr Malhotra...your time limit is over and you didn't finish the work yet."
My voice is not so patient. But his reply makes me more agitated. I cut the call and open my mail. The screen turns my ears red and hot in embarrassment. I ask Ruhi to leave and recline on my seat. His words are still resonating in my ears.
"Ms Murthy, I think you should check your mail before counting my time limit."
He was rude. And he should get a lesson. I press the intercom button.
"Send Mr Manik Malhotra."
.............................................
"Mr Malhotra, Nandini Ma'am is calling you in her cabin."
The operator says in a robotic voice. I smile as my prediction becomes accurate. She is vexed what I exactly wanted. Okay Ms Murthy, today you will see a different Manik Malhotra. I pick the mobile up and head to her cabin.
"Come in..."
Her sweet voice rings as I knock.
I enter with a confident stride. She gestures me to sit without looking at me. I smile at her cute anger and take the seat.
"Mr Malhotra...I have checked your designs but sorry to say they failed to impress me."
She still doesn't meet my eyes. It is a clear indication that she is lying. She is just venting her anger.
"I will be happy if you repeat the line looking at me."
I say tranquilly. She immediately meets my eyes. Her black doe eyes are slightly reddish but still attractive.
"Mr Malhotra, I think you are being overconfident. And I don't like overconfident people."
She hisses and I smile to look her frustration which she is trying to hide with anger. My smile makes her fume more and she springs from her seat.
"Mr Malhotra, do you think I am kidding you?"
She is now in front of me.... very close to my body. I slowly quit my seat and face her straight.
"I am not overconfident. You are lying. You liked my designs rather you loved my designs but your ego is not letting you admit it."
I flat out while looking through her eyes. Her eyes spark for a second and in a blink of an eye her palm contacts my left cheek.
"You are lying because you are insecure."
My words again hit. Again I am rewarded with a slap.
"You are an insecure, egoistic, frustrated woman who can't tolerate anyone more talented than her."
She again raises her hands to grab my collar but this time I grip and twist them behind her back. She tries to free when I yank her closer. Now her chest is pressing on mine. I can feel the soft mounds. Our hot breath is fanning each other's face. We are looking at each other fuming. After that, I can't remember what I did. When I gain my conscience I find myself sucking her lips like a famished lion. Her soft juicy lips are melting against my rough ones. I thrust my restless tongue inside her warm mouth. I explore every nook and corner and taste that divine nectar. She also shuns her struggle to be free and acquiesces. I slowly free her hands and travel mine towards her nape. Our eyes are closed. It seems that the whole world dwindles into this room. Nandini's hands are crawling on my back showing her passion. The silence of the surrounding is echoing with our soft moans. Suddenly a knock on the door brings us back to reality. Nandini opens her eyes with a jerk and abruptly pushes me.
"Stay away from me."
Her words are still not supporting her eyes.
"Nandini Murthy, it's hard to go against your heart. But it's harder to avoid my desire."
My inner God smirks.
