Clint and I weren't always like we are now, we actually were the complete opposite a few years ago.
I never hated him I don't want to be rivals with the men I love, but I'm already too deep into this shitty situation to fix it again.
It all started about a year ago, Clint asked me to be a little more flirty with him because he wanted to make Natasha jealous.
It was always about Nat he liked her and not me and at first I didn't have a problem with it I just shamelessly flirted with him like there was no tomorrow.
Until about a month into this whole deal I noticed that every time he flirted with me or flirted back I got this weird feeling inside of my stomach it was like butterflies that were tickling me.
I caught myself blushing and giggling at the things he said and did that's when I realized that I caught feelings for him, but the person he had eyes on sadly wasn't me it was a beautiful red headed woman.
But I kept going on with the plan but soon enough both him and I noticed that Natasha wasn't phased at all by what we did so he gave up on her and that's when I saw my chance with him to be more then just friends but all i got was being friend zoned over and over again by him.
I decided that my hopeless feeling for him were idiotic and I started to push him away from me, I ignored him and every attempt he took to talk to me.
I do admit that it was a really childish thing of me to do but I felt so heartbroken that I just didn't think of what I was doing and how I ruined my beautiful friendship I had with him.
- Present Time -
Stella's POV:
I was currently training in the gym of the Avengers tower, my music was blasting over my headphones and kept swinging punches at the red punching bag in front of me.
I felt a light tap on my shoulder so I moved my hands up to my ears to remove my AirPods and turned around only to be met with the sky blue eyes of Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
„Hey Steve what's up?"
„I just wanted to tell you that me and Clint are going to do some fight training want to join? I mean you don't have to since you know Clint is there too but-"
I cut him off by saying
„Yeah sure I'll join you too just because this idiot is there I won't miss a training session not to mention that I'll kick his ass to the moon and back"
He chuckled softly and nodded
„Are you sure about that Stark because I'm quite sure I'm better then you"
Clints voice rung through the training hall
„Oh I'm sure Robin Hood wanna bet"
I challenged him
„Hey first off don't Call me that and second the challenge is accepted but I'll go easy on you promise I don't punch girls"
I rolled my eyes and used my super speed to sprint to him and swung my fist straight into his jaw.
He stumbled over and fell on his back just laying there groaning in pain.
„If you ever say something stupid like that to me again I won't just punch your jaw I'll break your fucking nose got it?"
I spat at him and turned on my heels to walk out of the training hall back to my room.
After I arrived at my room I took a hot shower and changed into some clean clothes.
I laid down on my King size and took my phone from my night stand to see a message from my older brother tony.
Come to the conference room now!
I rolled my eyes and walked to the conference room where I already saw my brother, Cap, Natasha and Clint.
I entered the room with an annoyed look on my face.
„What's up Tony?"
„Your going on a mission to Russia Stella, Hydra has a hiding spot there and you'll have to eliminate two specific people they plan on building a nuclear bomb so get the plans and kill them their names are Vadim Bykov he's the one who created the plan in first place and his assistant Dominika Ivanov"
„Okay got it am i assigned to the mission alone or is someone joining me?"
„Yes Clint will be joining you"
„Tony no I'm not going to do the mission with this ass"
„You will Stella this is an order"
„Tony" I tried to protest
„STELLA I DONT CARE ABOUT YOU TWO NOT GETTING ALONG YOU WILL GO WITH HIM DISCUSSION ENDED"
He shouted at me and I kept quiet knowing if I argue more with him that it would end badly.
"Okay got it when do I have to be ready?"
"Be ready in 1 hour"
I nodded and made my way back to my room where my best friend Wanda was already waiting for me.
"You heard it already huh?"
"Yeah I did, how do you feel?"
"How am I supposed to feel, I'm angry and frustrated but also kinda scared to be honest"
"Why scared?"
"Because I haven't talked to Clint again after we started to be enemies, I always avoided him by just leaving or talking to someone else but I can't do that when we are on the mission so I'll have to confront him and talk about it"
I explained to her while packing my suitcase, she nodded understandingly and put her hand and my shoulder.
"You got this I believe in you Stella"
"Thank you so much Wanda I would be lost without you"
I hugged her tightly and we made our way to the Quinjet where my brother and Clint were already waiting.
We said our goodbyes and the last thing tony said to me was "please don't kill each other"
I entered the Jet and sat down at the other end as far away from Clint that I could.
"Stella I'm not happy about this whole thing either okay but let's just try to make the best out of this situation okay"
He moved closer to me and laid his hand on my shoulder.
"If you don't talk your hand away in three seconds I will really break your nose"
His hand shot up from my shoulder and he sighed.
"Listen-"
"No you listen Clint just leave me alone and don't talk to me let's just get this job over as fast as we can"
I stood up and moved to the other end of the couch and closed my eyes trying to go tosleep.
- Time Skip -
After 5 long hours we finally arrived in Tscheljabinsk, we took the taxi to our hotel where they gave us our room key.
Both of us settled down and I called tony to inform him that we landed and that the mission is starting in about an hour.
"Everything alright with you two haven't killed each other yet?"
"Haha very funny tony and no we haven't now back to the main theme the mission"
"Of course"
"It's starting in about an hour we're just gonna make all the weapons ready and then get started"
"Alright be careful good luck sis love you"
"Love you too tony bye"
"Bye"
I hung up the phone and turned around and saw Clint looking at me.
"What are you starring at huh?"
I questioned him and moved past him only to bump my shoulder "accidentally" into his hardly.
I took my hand gun off my bed and started to clean it.
„Stella we have to talk I don't care if you don't want to or not but we have to for the sake of the mission or else this will go wrong badly and one of us is gonna get hurt and you know it so talk to me, I won't let you leave the room until you talk to me Stella got it?"
„There is nothing to talk about Barton"
I spat at him while putting my gun back together.
„Stella Grace Stark there is definitely something we have to talk about"
"And what would that be?"
"Why are you so cold to me, explain it what have I done wrong to be treated like this all of a sudden"
"You're an Ass Clint"
I muttered
„No Stella you are the ass right now so tell me"
„You wanna know what happened?"
I raised my voice while standing up going up to his face and holding my gun under his chin.
„Yes tell me Stella, tell me everything"
He said not even scared by the fact that I could pull the trigger every second and end his life.
„I loved you Clint and you kept using me just to get Nat jealous, she doesn't even like you while I loved you I would die for you Clint and all you did was using me so one day I was just fed up with you and your stupid behavior so I just cut you out of my life and it was the best decision ever because I got to see what an idiot you really are"
I was now in tears my hands were shaking, but Clint was quiet he didn't say anything he just looked shocked at me.
„So now you know it happy now? Let's start the fucking mission"
I sniffed and wiped my tears away with the back of my hand, when I started to walk past him he grabbed my arm and looked deep into my eyes.
„I love you Stella"
„Stop with this shit Clint I know you don't your just saying it to make me feel better"
„No I don't I promise you, I started to realize I have feelings for you after I realized Nat wasn't interested in me I wanted to ask you out I really did but then you started to ignore me and I thought you hated me."
„I don't hate you Clint I could never"
What came next shocked me, he leaned in and his soft lips were resting on mine.
I moved my lips in sync with his, the kiss was soft but also deep and passionate both of us just put in all the emotions we've been hiding in it.
He pulled away and looked into my eyes with nothing but happiness and love.
"Please forgive me Stella I love you so much"
"No I have to say sorry here Clint, I'm sorry for being such an ass to you and I'm sorry that I wanted to break your nose. I love you so much too please don't leave me again"
He wrapped his arms around me tighter and kissed my forehead.
"I won't I promise"
We just stayed like this for about five minutes just enjoying being together again.
"So Uhm do we maybe wanna start the mission?"
I asked giggling and he started to laugh too
"Oh of course what a great first date having to kill two people"
"I guess that's our job huh"
"Yeah it is"
He pecked my lips one last time and we packed up our weapons and walked out of the hotel to finally start the mission.
