Julia quickly put me in the makeup chair and began ordering around the artist.
"Give me black mascara. I want a little foundation and highlight too, but don't make it obvious. Let's go with the nude/ almost nude palette for her eyes. Go soft with the eye liner, ladies. She is not supposed to look like a strumpet, ja?!"
The artist scramble to follow the instructions and they are finished very quickly. I take in my appearance and smile to myself. It's been a while since I looked this good. Julia drags me away from my reflection and sets my in the dressing room. "Your fashion sense is comfort over style." She tells me, "That's why I'm putting you in leggings and this off-the-shoulder sweater. These boots are perfect for the whole look." She hands me a black pair of leggings.
I look at them closer and see golden threads tied into the design. Next she gives me a chunky knit, golden sweater. I pull these on and wait for the boots. She opens the door and takes me in.
"You're such a sight. Absolutely beautiful... Here are the boots and satchel. Hurry! We need to do your hair too!"
I smile and thank her as I pull on the boots she gave me. She takes my hand and drags me to the salon chair.
This time she doesn't use assistants, she does it all herself. She takes my hair and sprays it with a little water and puts it in a high pony tail. Then she braids the pony tail and teases it a little. Then she wraps it like a bun and the finished product looks like a rose.
"Wow, Julia! That looks really good!" I tell her beaming.
She smiles at me. "Danke, shön. You are all done now. You may meet up with your team mates in the hallway. I will be preparing for the second round while you're gone. Have fun, ja?!" She tells me.
I give her a hug and make my way out the door. But before I leave, I take one last look in the mirror. Damn, I look fiiiiine. Lemme get a pic. I'll send it to Laxus. I wonder what he'll think.

I laugh out loud and look around for my teammates. I spot the girls leaving their stylists and walk over to them. As I get within listening distance I hear Lucy talking to Erza.
"Who does Y/n think she is? Clinging onto the boys like that. She must be a complete whore." She says, "She better back off Natsu, too. He's mine and he doesn't like her like that."
I watch Erza roll her eyes and sigh, "Y/n is not a whore. She hasn't seen her best friends in 5 years, you can't blame her for being a little clingy. It doesn't bother me and I'm sure the boys feel the same. We love Y/n and we would be the same way."
Lucy snorts and shrugs her shoulders.
"Erza! Oh my gosh! Look at you! Let's get a picture together." I gush, walking towards her. She spots me and waves me over. She is wearing a evergreen dress with gold accent pieces.
"Your stylist is talented! Green is definitely your color." I tell her, hugging her around the waist.
"Here, Lucy!" I toss her my phone. "Can you take a picture of us?"
She smiles and puts the camera to her face. "Smile!" She tells us. I wrap an arm around her shoulders and flash a rock&roll sign and Erza holds up a peace sign. When we're done, Lucy gives me my phone and walks away from us. I pretend not to notice and look at the photos.
"Is it okay if I send this to Laxus? He wants me to keep him posted." I ask.
Erza laughs and nods, " It doesn't bother me. Have you and Laxus made up?"
I wince and her words and shake my head slowly, "Actually, we haven't even talked about it. I didn't even recognize him when I bumped into him. I'll have to make time to talk about it later."
All the sudden I feel Tadashi land on my back. "N/n! You look so beautiful. We almost match too!" She says showing me her new gold dress.
"Jeez, Dashi. You look so beautiful." I tell her, ruffling her fur. She giggles and rests her head against mine.
I look around for the boys and spot Gray behind me. He is wearing a tight white shirt with ripped black jeans.
I wrinkle my nose, "Hawt damn! They made you look like an actual stripper! Your legs are so pale."
He sees me and makes his way over.
"At least your stylist know what they're doing. You look good."
I smile and pinch his cheek, "Make sure you don't lose these clothes or else they might actually think you're a stripper."
He nods and smiles, "Where's Natsu? He must look horrible too."
I shrug, "Beats me. I thought he would be with you. Do you want to look for him?"
Gray looks off into the distance and sighs. "I don't think that will be necessary."
I follow his line of sight and see Natsu with Lucy. She was standing really close to him and touching his chest. He was smiling and laughing about something she said. Maybe Lucy is right. I should back off. I don't want to ruin their relationship. My heart sinks and I shrug away my thoughts.
"Oh, Okay... What time are we starting anyway?" I try to play off my feelings.
Gray looks me in the eyes and replies, "Five minutes..." He takes a deep breath,"Do you want to be partners? My stylist told me that we would be participating as a group called The Fairies. We can pose together."
"Yeah! That sounds fun! Let's take a selfie, I want to put all of the pictures I take today on my wall at home." We pose and start taking pictures.
"Gray! The camera really likes you. You look amazing in all of these."
He blushed, "Not as good as yo- Nah, you're right. I do look amazing." I laugh and check at the time. "Oh, we're starting soon. Let's get in line. The others can find us."
He grabs my hand in response and leads the way to the end of the line. We stand there talking for a couple of minutes until the rest of the team shows up.
"Are any of you in pairs?" I ask, looking at Erza. "I'm with the exceeds. Who are you with Natsu?" Natsu looks up from the ground and starts to speak. "I think I'm wi-" "Natsu is with me. He is my partner." Lucy interups, putting her arm around his shoulder. He nods and looks back at the ground.
"Natsu, where is your scarf?" I ask him.
He keeps his eyes on the ground and replies, "The stylist made me take it off."
I nod slowly and look at Gray. "What's wrong with him?" I mouth to him. "I'm not sure." He mouths back.

When we walk onto stage, I look into the crowd and inwardly cringe. There are so many people! I hear cat calls and people cheering us on. I smile and raise my hand in greeting. I grab Gray and pull him close.
"Let's do this!~" I whisper in his ear.
He nods and walks us to the middle stage. We start doing all sorts of poses and the crowd was basically roaring. My smile turns into a grin when Gray starts to pick me up and spin me around. I start to laugh aloud and I cling to his neck. He used to do that all the time when we were younger. I wonder if he remembers. We finish quickly and wait for our scores.
"Gray Fullbuster... 95... Y/n L/n...98!" The announcer calls out.
I squeal and jump into Gray's open arms.
"Yay! Hopefully we beat everyone else!" I say in his ear.
"We definitely beat a lot of people. We aren't going to get cut this round." He replies, breath tickling my neck. I nod happily and Gray leads me to the waiting area, guilding me with his hand. When the whole team is done we share are scores with each other.

"Wow, guys! We did great!" I yell pulling them in for a group hug. We are pulled apart by our stylists and stuffed into a different outfit.
"Geez, Julia! You're so fast!" I say, already in my bathing suit. I wrap the sandal around my legs and straighten my hat. When I look into the mirror I flash a R&R sign and snap a picture. I'll send them all at one time. I don't want to bother him at the moment. I pick my sunglasses up and grab the camera.
The wait period went a lot faster due to the people that were eliminated in the first round.
Gray and I pose together again and we played a game of mini beach volleyball and then I took pictures of Gray standing in front of the crowd flexing and showing off his muscle. When we walk off stage, I catch Natsu's eyes and smile at him. He flinches and looks away quickly. What's wrong with him?
The scores come in quickly and we are shocked by the news.

"Why did they grade you so low, Gray? You looked amazing out there! You definitely don't deserve to be eliminated!" I tell him giving him a tight hug.
"It's okay. " He shrugged. "At least now I can watch you guys from the crowd. I'll be cheering you on." He says heading away to find a seat.
"For the last round there will be no partners." Julia tells me. "You'll be fine without that skinny man anyway."
I snort and start to put on the battle armor.
"You know what you're doing for the judges, ja?" She asks me as she does my hair.
"Yeah, it's a surprise though."
She chuckles, "I can't wait!"
When she's done, I look at myself in the mirror one last time. The person looking back looks ferocious. She looks dangerous. I smile and she grins back. I reach out and touch my face as she touched her own. I look so different I hardly recognize myself. I snap a photo, and push out the door. This time I'm on the stage alone and I walk calmly towards the center. I place my hand on the hilt of my sword and look into the crowd.
I find Gray and Erza in the front row, screaming their asses off. Dashi was waving a sign with my name on it, who knows where she even got it, and Happy was telling everyone, excitedly, that he knew me. I smile and take a deep breath.
"Sun Dragon Eclipse!" I shout.
The room becomes incased in pitch black shadows. I take another breath and try to relax my mind.
All of the sudden, little sparkles start to form around me and soon I'm covered from head to toe. The strange light bounces of the bronze metal, making it look molten. I'm the only thing in the room that they can see, and I slowly pull out my blade. I began to push my energy into the sword and it glows bright gold. I raise it high and slash the air in front of me, cutting away the darkness.
The crowd jumps to their feet and erupts into applause. I take a bow and wave at everyone. I walk of the stage and see Nastu standing with his mouth open in shock. I laugh and try to find Julia to help get me out of the armor. When I find her, she runs up to me and pulls me up against her.
"That was beautiful. So perfect. You're so talented, Y/n!" She tells me, pulling off the chestplate.
I smile and thank her. She excuses herself for a second and comes back with a dress. It was black with gold roses along the bottom trailing up the skirt.
"That's so pretty!" I gasp, "What's it for?"
"It's for the final judging. They'll have all the remaining contestants line up and wait to hear who has won." She says, handing me the dress.
I quickly slip it on and allow her to redo my makeup and hair. This time she keeps the smoky eye and puts on deep red lipstick. She twists my hair into a half up/ half down look. She wishes me luck and walks away, fearcely wiping her eyes. I snap one last picture and head out onto the stage.
I stand in between Natsu and Erza, smiling at them to wish them luck. Soon the judges start to thank the crowd for coming out and send away all the contestants away but the final 5.
Natsu had left and Erza and I stood with 3 others. We grabbed each other's hand and listened for the final results. The judges announce the 5th and 4th places and the contestants walked of the stage.
I grip Erza tighter and brace for the next place. "3rd place goes to....Erza Scarlett!"
She smiles and thanks the crowd. Before she leaves the stage, she whispers in my ear, "Good luck, I believe in you." I smile and nod my head.
"The last two contestants.... Y/n L/n and Rowan Hughes.... Both so beautiful and strong.... There can only be one winner though... And they are...."
The judges takes a deep breath, building the tension.
"Y/n L/n! Congratulations, darling!"
I break into a victory dance and I hear my teammates cheering me on. I give Rowan a fist bump and I collect my prize money and trophy. I hand my phone to Gray and I pose with the judges for a picture.
"Let's all take one together, hand the phone to someone and get in the picture, Gray."
We all stand in a group and smile at the camera.
By the time we leave the building, it dark out and the train was almost at the station. We had to run to get there on time and I almost fell asleep on Gray. To shake away my sleep, I got on my phone and sent Laxus all my photos.
