Simba ran to the other pride members to meet up with his childhood best friend, Nala.
Nala is a Shiny variation of Litleo and unlike other Shiny Litleo, she has blue eyes with eyelashes, reddish pink nose and tuft of fur and also her tail ends in a heart shape.
Nala was with her mother, Sarafina and Sarabi and her mother groomed her.
"Hey, Nala."
"Hi, Simba."
"Come on. We have to go." said Simba.
"Where?" asked Nala.
"Ummm...the watering hole!" answered Simba, "Let's go."
"Simba, she's having a bath." said Sarafina.
"And it's time for yours." said Sarabi as she grabbed Simba for grooming.
"But Mom..." Simba complained.
"Hold still." said Sarabi, continuing licking her struggling son to clean him.
"You're messing up my mane." said Simba.
"You only have tufts of course." chuckled Nala.
Simba leaped off from his mother and licked his fur by himself.
"See? All clean. Can we go?" asked Simba, "We aren't going anywhere else. Just only at the watering hole."
"Okay. Just to the watering hole and no further. And stay downwind." replied Sarabi.
"Got it, Mom." said Simba, "Come on, Nala."
"Coming up." said Nala and they rushed off with joy.
"And one more little thing. Zazu will be going with you." added Sarabi. This caused Simba and Nala's joy stopped dead.
"Zazu?!" the two Litleo gasped.
"Zazu goes...or you don't." said Sarabi.
"No. Not Zazu." Simba protested.
Later, Zazu joined to watch over them from above as they headed to the watering hole where various Pokémon were there such as Tauros, Bouffalant, Girafarig, Donphan, Hippowdon, Dodrio and more.
"Come along. Keep up. The sooner we get to the watering hole, the sooner we can leave." said Zazu to them.
"What are we gonna do at the watering hole?" asked Nala.
"We're not really going there." replied Simba.
"Really? So where are we going?" asked Nala.
"I heard about this place, Nala." said Simba, "That place makes me a little curious."
"Just tell me where." chuckled Nala.
"Okay. The Dark Canyon." whispered Simba.
"Whoa. Never heard of that place before." said Nala.
"Me too."
"How far is it?" she asked.
"Just to the shadows." replied Simba, "But don't worry, everyone's been there."
"We've never been that far before." said Nala, "It's feels like I wanna go there."
"Me too." said Simba.
"Well, there is one thing." said Nala, darting her eyes at Zazu, "How we getting rid of that 'Psyduck'?"
"Trust me, I got this. Follow me to freedom." replied Simba.
Then, Zazu swooped down after seeing Simba and Nala talking to each other.
"Oh, how lovely it is. Little seeds of romance blossoming in the Safari fields." said Zazu to them, "Your parents will be thrilled...what with your future queen."
"What do you mean 'future queen'?" asked Simba.
"Well, one day the two of you will be betrothed." replied Zazu.
"Be-what?" asked Nala.
"Betrothed. Intended. Affianced." replied Zazu, but Simba and Nala were confused.
"I don't understand." said Simba.
"Married! Come on. One day, you will be married..." said Zazu but they're still confused.
"...to each other!" Zazu continued.
"EW!!!" Simba disgusted but Nala was surprised and blushed.
"No. That's not gonna happen, Zazu. Never ever. Nala and I are friends." said Simba.
"Y-Yeah. It'd be too weird." added Nala, turning away and hid her blushing cheeks.
"Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but you two Luvdisc have no choice." said Zazu, "It's a tradition...going back generations. With an attitude like that, I'm afraid you'll be a pretty pathetic king."
"Well, I'm not letting anyone tell me where to go, what to do...and even who to marry." said Simba, "There will never be a king like me."
"Simba, you cannot escape your destiny." argued Zazu.
"Hmph. Not the way I see it." replied Simba.

{Zazu flies and lands at the tooth of a Hippowdon.}

Simba and Nala hid anywhere and blended with the other Pokémon, trying to get away from Zazu.
"I know what you're doing!" said Zazu as he found them but they ran away again, "Where are you going, Simba? Come on! You can't hide from me, Simba. It is my sworn duty to keep you safe. You listen to me right now."
Zazu looked everywhere for them and asked the other Pokémon.
"I'm sorry to flutter about in your face, have you seen the two Litleo? One was the king's son and one's a pretty Shiny."
