The darkness... it felt like an eternity.
Plink...plink...plink...
My eyes shoot open in a panic. I examine my new surroundings.
'Did he punch me that hard?' I thought and sat up, I was greeted by the presence of my brother and my friend Karma who were asleep. It took me a bit for my focus to switch to Bakugou who was sitting in a chair next to my hospital bed, clearly awake.
"Oh.. hello.." I smiled nervously, hoping he wasn't furious that I protected Midoriya,
"...Hm." he takes his eyes off of me, "Why did you jump in front of the damn nerd?"
"Because I couldn't just let you hit him... Especially if it put me in this place.."
"You should've minded your damn business, you idiot!"
"It was my coffee! Of course it was my business!"
"But why couldn't you just hold me back. That's smarter than what you did... and all for that damn nerd.."
'Woah... does he sound.. jealous?' I sighed and adverted my eyes, "I'm sorry, Bakugou.. I didn't mean to worry you.."
"What?! You didn't worry me! What do you think I am? A softie? Don't be stupid!" He defended himself, "Just get some damn sleep, you dumbass."
"Okay okay! Jeez, you could've atleast said you're glad I'm okay and then leave-"
"Whatever. I'm leaving." He stomps out the door in anger, 'That man is so difficult god damn..'
"Who you arguing with?! It's annoying as hell.." Karma wakes from her slumber and grumbles while she rubs her eye lids,
"You're one to talk. It's like you and Sentako have been married for like 50 years," I tease. She hits me with a pillow and huffs at me, "I hate him as much as I hated that statement,"
"Soooo you like him?"
"OH MY GOD EW!!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Sentako barks, "For god's sake, let a man sleep!"
"Shut up, Taco!" Karma barks back at him. They continue to argue as usual but this time they practically had an aggressive pillow fight.
"You silly childr-" my sentence was cut off by Mina shouting out my name, and almost the whole class following behind her, even Todoroki decided to come.
"Are you okay?! Why did you do that?" Midoriya rushed to my side, ignoring Sentako and Karma,
"Isn't that what a hero is suppose to do? Protect people?" I giggle a bit,
"Yes but.. let me save you next time! Remember, we're all going to be heroes!" He huffs not realizing he held my hand the second he came over,
"We all were worried for you Y/N, kero" Tsuyu admits,
"Yeah! It's cool how you took that punch for Midoriya!" Kirishima pays me a thumbs up,
I smile, "Awe, thanks guys,"
"Why did you take the hit for Midoriya? Besides for wanting to be a hero." Todoroki asks, looking out the window,
I was taken back by his choice of questioning, "Well, I... he's my friend. And I want to protect my friends.."
He then turns to me, "A friend?"
"Yeah, you all are my friends," I beamed up at him. He examined me for a moment and then looked away with no facial expression. My smile faded a bit and I turn back to the group, "How long was I out?"
"About a week! A dreading week!" Uraraka said dramatically,
Sorryyyy didn't mean to pass out for that long," I giggled,
"You better be sorry!" Sero jokes,
"It's a good thing you can leave as soon as you're awake and well," Yaoyurozu smiled,
"A goddess just spoke to me, I sEe tHe liGht-" I complimented her while I joked at the samt time. It caused her to blush lightly and mutter a 'thank you'. The group informed me about what has happened at school for the past week and what I need to know for when I get back. I wasn't really listening all that much but it's the thought that counts. A while after, the doctor entered the room and kicked everyone out so she could do a check up on me. She started with checking my reflexes and vision before checking my wound.
"Alright, L/N. You'll have to wear glasses for when you use your quirk because your vision easily worsens when in contact with light. This will pass by in a few weeks." She explained, "Otherwise, you're completely fine." I gave her a simple nod and stood up, "Does this mean I can go home?"
"Yes, but please don't get into anymore fights with that anger-issued child."
"No problem, he's my friend," I smiled and left the room. I had the chance to see her shocked expression as I exited.
"Guess whose baaaack?" I cheered,
"Y/N!" Mina griped me into a tight hug,
"Group hug!!" Hagakure announced and hugged me also. One by one, everyone joined in. I couldn't help but notice that Kirishima and Kaminari were great huggers, despite Kaminari being a rat's friend; I mean Mineta.
"Let's get outta here now!" Uraraka smiles and leads everyone to the exits. As I was about to follow, I spotted Todoroki just watching them leave. I walked over,
"Are you okay, Todoroki?"
"..." he glanced at me,
"Todoroki?" I asked again, he remained silent for a few more seconds,
"You think of me as a friend?" He finally asked, but he wasn't looking at me as usual,
"Well if course, you did come to see me!"
"I came because Midoriya and Uraraka pleaded me to." He admitted carelessly,
"Oh... so you didn't care to..see me?.."
"Not then, no."
"Then?.." I perked up,
"We should follow the others before they start to worry." He reached for my hand but pulls back, rethinking his decision, and then followed our fellow peers. I couldn't help but chuckle at his attempt to be friendly towards me, 'What a sweetheart,' I thought as I caught up with them.
They guided me home with the help of Sentako and Karma, Mina and Jirou cracking jokes on the way there,
"Bye Y/N, be safe!" Sero waved,
"No more stupid stuff!" Uraraka nodded,
"But don't stop being cute," Kaminari winked at me, I giggled and rolled my eyes,
"Bye guys, get home safe!" I waved back and entered the saftey of my home.
I binged watch shows on Netflix with Karma while eating chips and wearing only a giant sweater. "I have such great friends, don't I?" I hummed and soon fell asleep..
