Yokozawa didn't know he was property.

Kirishima released a heavy sigh as he continued driving. How on earth was he going to tell this boy that he wasn't born, he was created? Yokozawa could never live on his own or do anything by himself because he wasn't a person, he was an experiment.

An experiment that was created to serve mankind.

"Let's not talk about that. I'm sorry that your first years of life were beyond miserable, but those days are long gone. Ok?"

The experiment furrowed his brows while staring at his lap. The curly haired man was hiding something from him, he could feel it. One moment Kirishima was willing to answer his questions, and the next, he was telling him to forget it.

It was unusual, confusing, and worse of all, aggravating.

"Are they?"

The hazel eyed man spared a glance at the experiment. "Are they what?"

"Are those days really behind me? I don't remember much but I remember that your men used to poke me and run a lot of weird machines on and around me. Then....you made them stop." Yokozawa's gray eyes darkened. "But then you made them continue. You made me meet that weird man as well. Why?"

An icy cold lump formed in the back of the curly haired boss's throat. He couldn't speak or even form a coherent thought. This boy definitely knew a bit too much for comfort.

"You wouldn't understand-

"How am I to understand when you don't tell me what's going on?!" The experiment asked, his eye ticking with annoyance. "I-I know I'm not normal. I've come to terms with that, but what I haven't yet understood is why I'm here with you. Or why I'm even here at all."

Kirishima squeezed the steering wheel tightly before swerving into a parking lot to an almost empty store. "You're here because I want you to be here, ok? Please accept that without anymore questions. Please."

The older man's voice had cracked. He was at the at the end of his peak.

He'd done a lot of things over the years, but this, this was too much. To create an experiment and give it the mindset of a normal person had been his downfall, his biggest sin.

And this was a sin he just couldn't admit to. Because admitting to one sin, was like admitting to everything else he'd done wrong. He just couldn't do that.

Considering the fact that this wasn't the only thing he'd totally messed up or made a mistake of. There was one more detail, one more fact of the matter that he himself still refused to believe or acknowledge.

"Will you tell me eventually?"

"Yes, now please behave. We're at a store."

The experiment perked up as his curiosity got the best of him. While he still wanted answers, he couldn't hide the fact that this new building had gained his attention. "That's a store? What does it have?"

Relieved that things had turned around and weren't as bleak, Kirishima nodded his head. "Yes. This building you see right here is a store. Depending on what you're looking for, you can come to one of these places and purchase it."

"How...convenient."

The hazel eyed man simply offered an amused smile. "It is. Now come on. We have a lot of stuff to buy."

He turned off the car and walked to the other side so he could open the door for Yokozawa. It took a while because the experiment was too busy glancing around, but after a while they made their way inside the market.

Like a child, the gray eyed man followed after Kirishima without hesitation or question. He stood by his side and did his best to keep up with him as they went through the many various aisles.

Many items caught his attention. He stared at them and cocked his head to the side as he tried to wrap his head around everything as well as try to figure out what some items were.

Ultimately he gave up as he couldn't get a good look as they darted through the items, only looking for specific things Kirishima knew about.

"What are you looking for?" Yokozawa asked when they stopped in front of a place that had many different pastries being displayed.

"Pick a cake."

"Why?"

"It's tradition. Now come on. Which ever one you want, I'll buy."

There wasn't much thought put into the experiments decision. He simply pointed at the closest cake because he didn't feel like looking through all the labels, and he certainly didn't want to read the flavors or look at the colors.

"Are you sure you want that one-

"You said which ever one I wanted. Does that not count anymore?"

At first Kirishima thought he'd messed up and was going to apologize. But after taking in the young man's tone, as well as his facial expression, he came to the conclusion that he was being messed with.

"I did say that, didn't I?" He admitted with an amused shake of his head. "Well if that's the one you want." Kirishima picked it up and placed it in the basket. "Let's grab a few more things, and then we can leave.

Those few more things turned into a lot of things. They got drinks, food, decorations, and a couple of random items that were meant to be gifts.

Once everything was paid for they went back to Kirishima's secluded house. The experiment was ordered to sit on the recliner in the living room and to not get up from that spot.

At first the gray eyed man was admittedly upset but after a while he calmed down and enjoyed the softness of the seat as well as the decorations that were strategically placed around the living space.

On the wall to his right he could see a couple of hand drawn pictures. They had some writing on them but were too far away to read or distinguish. He squinted a bit to see if that would help.

It worked slightly.

On one picture it read "To Papa" in big, bold red letters.

The experiment blinked in confusion. He was still a bit too oblivious to put two and two together but he couldn't help but want to figure out what that meant. But his curiosity was put to the side as Kirishima made an appearance.

"Ok, you can come into the dining room now." He beckoned Yokozawa into the area he'd just decorated and held his breath in slight worry.

He wanted this to be perfect.

Gray eyes immediately took in the scene. There were balloons, banners, and confetti everywhere. On the table was the cake he'd picked out as well as some gift bags and wrapped presents.

"So...what do you think?"

"It's...colorful." The experiment admitted with a wary voice while eyeing the older man to see if his answer had been sufficient. Based on the other males confused look, he decided his answer had been a bit vague. Lacking even.

"I-I like it." He tried again. "Thank you."

"You're not just saying that, right?"

"Of course not. I feel really touched that you went through all this trouble for me."

The curly haired man smiled tenderly. "It was no trouble at all. Happy birthday, Takafumi." He leaned in and gave the experiment a quick peck on the cheek.

Yokozawa's immediate reaction was going to be to shove him back, but for whatever reason he found his face heating up and his complaints nonexistent.

"Thanks." He replied, dipping his head to try and hide the pink tint that lightly dusted his neck and ears.

"A-are you blushing?"

"N-no!"

"Liar, I can see your neck from here." Kirishima traced the experiments neck lightly, eliciting a slight gasp.

"You're seeing things."

"Am I?" The elder asked teasingly, slyly moving his finger up and down before tickling the experiment's neck.

"What are you-

Yokozawa's words were cut off as a stream of genuine laughter erupted from him and fell past his lips in the most angelic way. His laugh was so innocent, so pure, Kirishima couldn't help but want to hear more.

Kirishima moved his fingers to Yokozawa's sides and continued tickling him.

"S-stop." The gray eyed experiment begged futilely, his words barely being understood as they mixed with his laughter and eventually got drowned out by the beautiful sound.

It was times like this that had Kirishima feeling like he could live this lie a bit longer. He kept telling himself that he could ride this way til morning, but he always prolonged it. Always hid the truth for far too long. He didn't know how much longer he could keep doing this.

All he knew is he didn't want things to end like this. He didn't want this to be their last shared laugh. He didn't want this to be their last anything.
