"Meri baat toh suno," Ahmed was in his office working on his laptop when he heard a faint voice came from outside and few seconds later the door of his office opened

There he saw his son and a.... A girl?
Ahmed got up from his chair
"Hello Uncle!" The girl said while Dayyan was trying to grab her hand which she jerked away
"Dad yeh woh... Meri dost hai aur hum log bas ja hi rahe the," this was the first time Ahmed has saw his son nervous
(Dad she is my... Friend.... And we were just leaving,)
"Ji nahi, hum log kahi nahi ja rahe the, uncle mujhe apse baat karni hai," the girl glare at Dayyan then turned to Ahmed
(No we were not leaving, uncle I want to talk to you,)
"Uncle I'm Maya, Dayyan aur main teen saal pehle Ishra ki engagement mein mile the....... Do saal se hum log date Kar rahe Hain aur ek saal se yeh mujhe bol rahe ki aaj Kar lunga mom se tumhare bare mein baat toh kal Kar lunga but Kabhi Kiya nahi, kyu? Kyuki Kabhi Khane mein namak zyada hone ki wajah se mom ka mood off hota Hai to Kabhi mom bohot achhe mood mein hoti Hain is liye serious baat nahi karna chahte Hain yeh," she told everything to Ahmed, but time to time glare at Dayyan
(Dayyan and I met three years back in Ishra's engagement and we both are dating since two years, and it's been one year since he is telling me he will talk to his parents about us but he didn't,)
"Baith ke baat karte Hain," Ahmed also glare at his son who only manage to give a embarrassed look
(Shall we talk while sitting,)
"Toh ab mujhse Kya help chahiye?" Ahmed sat on his chair while Dayyan and Maya sat on the chair opposite him
(What can I do for you two?)
"Yeh toh baat karne se rahe," she point at Dayyan
(He won't talk to his mother,)
"Dekho agar tum dono ko lagta Hai ki main Anupriya se baat karunga then I'm sorry main ussey baat nahi Kar sakta iss silsiley mein," Ahmed already surrendered making Maya and Dayyan down
(If you think that I'll talk to Anupriya then I'm sorry I can't.)
"Lekin ek cheez Kar sakte hain," after sometime of thinking Ahmed said
(But we can do one thing,)
"Kya?" Both Maya and Dayyan asked same time

"Tum dono Ishra ki engagement mein mile the na?..... Iska Matlab tum Ishra ki Shaadi ke sare function attend karogi?" When Maya and Dayyan nod their head he continue
(You two met in Ishra's engagement right? So you'll attend all the function of her wedding,)
"Ishra Meri college ki dost Hai toh Haan main uski Shaadi ke sare function attend karungi." Maya replied
(Ishra is my college friend so yeah I will.)
Ahmed told then his plan
"But...... Purey function mein aunty mujhe hi kyu notice karengi?" Maya still didn't get his plan
(But why would aunty only notice me in whole function,)
"Achha mayoon ke liye tumne konse colour ka suit liya Hai?" Ahmed again asked
(What colour dress you'll wear in mayoon?)
"Yellow with black dupatta," Maya shrugged her shoulder
"Ek kaam karo yellow rehne do, tum mayoon mein pink pehena,"
(Wear pink not yellow,)
"But mayoon mein to sab yellow pehente Hain," Maya thought he doesn't know anything a out fashion while Dayyan was silently listening
(But everyone wear yellow on mayoon,)
"Is liye tum pink pehnogi issey sabse alag lagogi to tumhari aunty ki nazar shayad tumpe Jaye.....aur zyada make-up bhi na karna...... Aur haldi ke waqt sabse Durr hi rehna aise pretend karna ki tumhe haldi nahi pasand,"
(That's why you'll wear pink you will stand alone, and don't wear much make up.... And if anyone will apply haldi on you tell then no,)
"Par kyu?"
(Why?)
"Kyuki tumhari aunty ko bhi nahi pasand aur jab woh dekhengi ki tum kitni similar ho unse toh woh Dayyan ke liye tumhe zaroor sochengi," now Maya was slowly understanding his plan
(Because your aunty doesn't like it, and she will think you two are alike,)
"But.. will it work?" Dayyan asked
"Umeed toh Hai," Ahmed said
(Hope so,)
"Aur koi option bhi toh nahi Hai," Maya said
(And we don't have any other options.)
On mayoon
Maya was going to washroom to clean her face when someone pulled her into a room
"Wha.... Dayyan?" She was about to shout but then Dayyan's face came in sight
"Yeh Kya harqat Hai, choro mujhe," Dayyan close the door with his free hand while he was still holding Maya's hand
(What's this? leave my hand.)
"Aur na choru toh?" Teasingly he asked
(And if I don't then?)
"Dayyan choro mujhe main tumse gussa hoon," she told him
(Dayyan leave my hand I'm angry at you.)
"Maine Kya Kiya?" Putting both his hand on the wall caging her in his arms he asked
(What did I do?)
"Yeh Kya pehna hua Hai tumne?" She crossed her hand over her chest and turned her face other side not looking at him
(What are you wearing?)
"Kapda?" His brows furrowed in confusion
(Clothes?)
"Aur iska colour Kya Hai? Black. When I clearly told you to wear navy blue," pouting she said
(Which colour is black,)
"Yaar mom ne choose Kiya Hai.... Woh kehti Hain ki mujhpe black bohot achha lagta Hai,"
(Mom has choose this for me, she says that black looks good on me.)
"Dayyan tum har cheez apni mom ki pasand se karte ho, unki pasand ke hi kapde pehente ho agar tumhari mom ko main nahi pasand ayi toh?" She in-crossed her hands and seriously asked Dayyan
(You always do whatever your mother says what if she doesn't like me?)
"Kaisi baat Kar rahi ho tum mom ko kyu nahi pasand aogi, balki abhi thori derr pehle dad ne mujhe msg Kiya ki mom tumhare bare mein Khala se puch rahi Hain,"
(Why wouldn't she like you? In fact dad just texted me that Mom is asking Khala about you,)
"Sach?" Her face which was down for few minutes again got gleamed
(Really?)
"Sach! Aur kyu nahi puchengi woh Khala se? Tum lag hi rahi ho itni pyaari iss pink dress mein,"
(Really! And why wouldn't she? You are looking so beautiful,)
"Achha choro mujhe issey pehle koi ajaye," blushing she said
(Now leave me, what if someone come?)
"Lo chorr diya, lekin sirf filhal ke liye," he took his hand down
(Fine but only for now,)
"Dayyan!" She was about to left then again came telling him to lean down
When he leaned down, she touched his cheeks with hers and apply haldi on his cheeks
"Tum apni beard banwao," but his beard pierce her cheek she said
(Shave your beard,)
"Aur ab yeh mat kehna ki mom ko tumhari beard bohot pasand Hai is liye tum shave nahi karoge," before leaving she add
(And please don't say that your mom likes your beard so you won't shave it,)
"Yeh kaisi dress Hai?" When Dayyan gave her shoppers that Ahmed Nawaz gave him to gave her
She quickly saw what was inside and her nose quickly cringed
(What kind of dress it is?)
"Dad ne kaha Hai ki menhdi mein tum yeh pehno... Aur yeh wali baraat mein," he point at another shopper
(Dad has told me to tell you that you'll wear this on mehndi and that one on baraat,)
"Iska colour bohot... Achha nahi hai," she couldn't find the perfect word
(But I don't like it's colour,)
"Tumpe achha lagega,"
(It will look good on you,)
"Filhal ke liye pehen le rahi Hoon, lekin Shaadi ke baad main yeh sab nahi karungi," she warned him
(I'll were them but after marriage I won't do this all,)
"Nahi karna baba."

Ahmed Nawaz was right Anupriya truly got good impression of Maya thinking she and Maya have common likes dislikes
"Toh Kal ja rahi Hain mom tumhare Ghar," ayyan called her at night and informed her
(Tommorow mom is going to your house,)
"Uncle se puch lo ki Kal Kya pehnu," this was a taunt that Dayyan couldn't understand
"Dad keh rahe the ki blue," leaning on the headboard of bed Dayyan said.
(Blue, dad told me,)
Next day Maya took all her clothes out of her cupboard and searched for blue dress
She found five blue dresses but she was confused which one to wear
"Maya.... Maya yeh sab Kya hai?" Hiba who just entered the room asked when she saw her room mess
(What's all this?)
"Mere pass kuch bhi nahi Hai pehene ke liye," she pouted
(I don't have anything to wear for today,)
"Jaha se main dekh rahi hoon tumhare purey kamre mein sirf kapde hi kapde hain," Hiba looked around Maya's room and said
(But from where I am seeing your room is messed with clothes)
"Bhabhi Dayyan ne kaha Hai blue pehna," Hiba was the only one who knows about Maya and Dayyan
(Dayyan told me to wear blue,)
"Blue hm... Yeh wali kaisi rehengi?" She picked a short kurti which was matched with a white trousers
(Blue hm!... This one?)
"Nahi!..." Maya whined and sat on the floor huffing
(No!)
"Achha..... How about this one," putting it down Hina picked a blue churidaar
"Yeh toh last week pehna Tha," Hiba glare at her
(I wore this last week,)
"Yeh wali pehenlo issey tumne ab Tak nahi pehna," Hiba picked another suit and said
(Wear this one,)
"Woh... Iron karte waqt mujhse iska dupatta jal gaya Tha," Maya mumbled in her mouth
(By mistake I have burnt its dupatta,)
"Kitni baar samjhaya Hai ki dhyan se kaam Kiya karo.,.... Khair choro...hey yeh white dupatta kyu nahi match Kar leti tum iske sath." Hiba's eyes fall on the white dupatta which was placed beside Maya's feet
(You are so careless Maya... Forget it... Why don't you match that white dupatta with this suit.)
Maya picked it up and put to beside the suit a huge grin formed on her face
"Thank you so much bhabhi," happily she thanked Hiba
"Mujhe pic send Karo, Dekhu toh kaisi lag rahi ho tum," when she told Dayyan about the bustle of the morning Dayyan said
(Send me a pic of yours I wanna see how you are looking,)
"Ek minute,"
(Wait,)
She asked Hiba to click her photo, they both were in kitchen Hiba was making refreshments while Maya was just there
She send her pic to Dayyan
which he replied with 😍😍😍
"Waise dad ek baat puchu?" After the meeting was done both Dayyan and Ahmed entered his cabin while closing the door Dayyan asked
(Dad can I ask something?)
"Apko mom ki pasand na pasand itne achhe se kaise maloom Hai?" When Ahmed hummed Dayyan asked further, this question was nagging him because he never knew his father k ows his mother that much
(How do you know mom's likes and dislikes?)
"Woh Kya haina beta humare zamane mein tumhare zamane ki tarah nahi hota Tha ki ladka ladki mile phir ek dusre Jo Jane phir pyaar aur phir Shaadi, nahi humare zamane mein to maa baap ladki pasand Kar dete the phir Shaadi ke baad hum milte the aur phir ek dusre ko jante jante mohabbat ho jati thi,"
(Actually in our times parents chooses girls for their son and they used to meet after marriage while knowing each other we fall in love,)
Dayyan didn't understand what he was saying.
"Achha suno... aaj na tum black mat pehena koi aur colour pehena," after an hour of just talking about random things Maya said
(Okay listen please don't wear black.)
"Theek Hai, aur koi hukm," Today her family were going to Dayyan's house
(Your wish my command,)
"Hann mujhe selfie zaroor send karna,"
(And send me a selfie,)
"Achha main chalta Hoon mom bula rahi Hain," when Anupriya called him he said to Maya
(I'll call you later, mom is calling me,)
After getting ready he clicked a selfie and send her
*Whistling* was her reply
"Kya hua Tha waha? Pata Hai sab tumhari bohot tareef Kar rahe the," at night when she returned to her room she called Dayyan and asked
(What happened there? my family is talking so highly of you,)
"Ab main Kya karu main Hoon hi iss kabil ki sab Meri tareef Kare,"
(What can I say, I deserve this.)
"Achha-achha bas zyada hawa mein udhne ki zaroorat nahi Hai," laughingly she said
(Don't be arrogant,)
Anupriya set the date for wedding very close
Today I saw a beautiful dress and I want it for my wedding
Dayyan was with Ahmed discussing about the wedding plan when Maya text him with it a pic of the dress she saw in mall
"Dad! Maya ko yeh dress chahiye," he showed the dress to Ahmed
(Maya wants this dress for wedding,)
"Your mother has already told me. Kapoor for Maya's dress,"
"Dad please," glaring at Dayyan Ahmed called me. Kapoor and told him to make this dress for Maya
And if Anupriya asked about the dress she told him to make tell her that the same dress Singhania's daughter wore on her wedding Anupriya herself won't buy it
"Arey! Dekhne to do," Dayyan said but Maya again turned to other side
(Let me see your face,)
"First give me my wedding gift," she hold his hand stopping him to unveiled her face
"Fine... Here," huffing he said and take two box out from side drawer when she hold the box he removed her veil
"Do kyu?" Looking at two box Maya asked
(Why two?)
"Yeh Wala mom ne tumhare liye pasand Kiya the aur yeh Maine," he informed her
(Mom gave me this one to give you and I have picked this one,)
She first opened the box which Dayyan choose for her
"Yeh toh... Dayyan yeh to wahi necklace Hai Jo Maine uss din pasand Kiya Tha." Happily she said while putting the necklace in herself
(This is.... This is the same necklace which I saw the other day.)
"Maloom Hai,... won't you see what mom has bought for you," when he saw Maya didn't opened the box Anupriya gave he asked while laying down with the support of his elbow
(I know,)
Placing the necklace carefully in box Maya put it on side table and opened the other box, inside of it was a beautiful Platinum ring
"It's beautiful! Your mom have good taste," she wore the ring and said
While Dayyan was lovingly looking at her
"So?" He cleared his throat to grab her attention and said
"So!... I'm going to change," she said putting the other box also on table and was about to get down
"Ek minute, ek minute kaha?" Dayyan sat up and hold her
(One second where?)
"Change karne," innocently she said
(To change the dress,)
"Achha! Tumhe lagta Hai ki main tumhe change karne dunga?"
(Do you think I'll let you change?)
