~~You get homesick~~
You woke up in bed, you turned over expecting to see your boyfriend Louis. But he wasn’t there.
You sat up slowly and yawned.
Sitting in the silence, expecting to hear noise coming from downstairs. ‘Maybe Lou is in the den.’ you thought to yourself.
Nothing. You decided you needed to get out of bed anyway. If you wanted to get in touch with him, your phone was downstairs.
Last night you and Louis had a movie marathon, you eventually fell asleep on his shoulder, and you remember him carrying you up the stairs, and then cuddling in bed with you.
As you got up from bed, a cold rush of air, hit your arms. You shivered and looked down to see you were in some leggings and a tank top.
Your eyes scanned the room, to only find Louis’ dirty clothes sprung around.
What a coincidence.
You walked over to your closet and you found a big burgundy hoodie.
You slipped it on without thinking twice.
It was your senior hoodie from high school. You graduated about a year and a half ago, over in America. Before you met Louis.
You looked at it in the mirror.
It had a small stitched line in the sleeve. One of your close friends, Eli, at the time, you and him were running through the hallway, when your jacket caught on someone’s locker somehow. You were upset until Eli’s mom stitched up the small tear that day.
Your jacket also had Eli and your other close friend Gabriella’s initials signed onto the bottom and dated. Eli’s sloppy handwriting and Gabby’s (as you called her) perfect penmanship.
‘God i miss this’ you whispered to yourself.
You felt your eyes water, as you remembered how you and your friends were planning on your long, happy life together.
Just as almost everyone does with their bestfriends.
‘When was the last time i wore this?’ You asked yourself.
‘Probably not, worn it since i left.’ you thought. As you noticed is was a bit dingy. You casually slid your hands into the pocket.
Feeling something odd in there.
You pulled it out to see a small friendship bracelet. Broke in half.
It was one you, Eli, and Gabriella had gotten when you took a summer trip to the beach. You three bought a lot of souvenirs, because you didn’t know when the next time you’d be able to do this was.
Which never happened again.
You then remembered how you broke it.
When you and Gabriella’s brother were wrestling.
It was normal for you to do that, he was like your brother. You were an only child.
He went to grab your wrist and popped it off, easily.
Gabby was mad at first, until you convinced her that it was okay, and you two were never going to be apart. So, the bracelet was a simple accessory.
Should’ve thought twice about that.
You loved Louis, that was why you moved thousands of miles away fro your family and friends. But you couldn’t help but miss them.
Who wouldn’t miss the people closest to them?
Now, you really wanted Louis home. Warm tears trickled down your face, as you stood in front of your mirror, admiring the physical memories of home.
A knot was formed in your throat.
You stuffed the broken bracelet (or broken memory) back into the pocket.
You ran to your bed, and jumped on. Burying your face into the pillows.
About five minutes later, your body was in a fetal position, the blankets tangled along with your body, and you were full on sobbing and every few tears that fell, had twice as many replace them.
You hadn’t gotten this homesick before, it’s never been this bad.
Then again, you always had Louis there.
You continued letting loud sobs and cries escape.
You were so drowned out by the noise of your crying, and the thoughts of home, to hear the door open, and Louis walk in.
He quickly ran to your side, and lifted you up, onto his chest.
“What’s wrong (y/n)?!” Louis asked frantically.
It took you a minute to find the strength to talk.
“I’m kind of homesick” you said, as you gripped his now soaked t-shirt tighter.
His grip grew a little stronger, as he started kissing your head.
“(Y/n) babe, please calm down. It’s killing me to see you like this.”
You didn’t reply, but the tears fell at a slower pace and the sobbing stopped.
You sat in silence.
“Love?” Louis asked.
“Mhm?” you replied, not really wanting to speak anymore.
“Me and the lads have a week off soon, and we can go visit.”
Your eyes grew wide, at the thought of seeing Eli, Gabby, your parents. Being reunited again.
“That’s what we all had a sudden meeting today, i’m sorry i didn’t tell you. You just looked so comfortable and adorable sleeping, i couldn’t dare to wake you up.” he continued.
A small smile creeped onto your face, at your boyfriend’s words.
“What’ya think about visiting them?” He asked.
You cleared your throat and sat up from Louis lap.
“That’s be really amazing Lou” you said as you smiled.
Finally you felt better. Louis was always your knight and shining armour. Always.
He grinned widely at the sight of a toothy smile on your face.
“That’s my girl” he said, as he pulled you in again.
You looked up into his eyes.
He leaned in and gave you a light kiss on your lips.
“Now that your all cheered up, want to go for some iced coffee?” He asked.
Him and his Starbucks.
You nodded and stood up from the bed, and headed for the doorway.
Right before your foot hit the floor of the hallway, Louis picked you up from behind.
You started laughing.
“Louis! Put me down!” you laughed out.
“Promise me you not sad anymore.” He said in all seriousness, as he turned you around and caught your gaze.
You kept your gaze locked with his pleading eyes.
“I promise.” You said.
“Good! Now let’s go.” Louis said, back to his original self.
Where would you be without him.
