Alex's Pov:
I couldn't help that gut wrenching feelings I had and I couldn't help the feeling of guilt.
I kept thinking over and over that if something happened to Skylar it was because of me.
I mean, how stupid can I get.
Sitting still wasn't something that played out in my mind well, so instead I did just the opposite. I kept pacing behind and forth since I didn't know whether or not to go out to find Sky or to stay just put incase she came home.
I tried to calm down and tried to search for Skylar with my mind since I was developing that power.
After my father passed down the legacy it came with so many changes that I wasn't prepared for.
He told me it gets lonely in my position but having my soul mate by my side would make things easier.
To bad I didn't have mine.
As I closed my eyes to concentrate better I knew I was going to have problems searching for her.
My brain worked like a map and could show me the earth grounds but..... I had yet to master that with hunters.
After a while of trying to find her I knew instantly she was with a hunter.
Perhaps Devon.... or Natalie.
As I opened my eyes, I could feel my frustration growing by the second.
At that point I decided to go out to find her, however as soon as I turned the door knob of the front door my ears picked up the sound of a familiar voice.
I instantly opened the door and ran out to see if I was corrected.
As I stared down the street, a black pick up truck was in my view. Forcing my eyes, I looked inside and knew I was right.
"Crap..." I mumbled under my breath.
My hand instantly turned into fist as the car pulled in front of the house.
I was relieve to see that Skylar was in the car but the sight of someone else made my blood boil for no reason.
I watched as they step out of the car as Skylar smiled at me and approached me.
"Hey Alex." Skylar said.
"Hey Sky."
I smiled back and give her a tight hug that caught her off guard, however, she hugged me back.
After I released her I couldn't help but to take a step forward before I realized what i did. Instantly I took a step back.
"Alex this is Natalie, Devon's mother. She wanted to meet you." Skylar said as she stood between us.
Extending her hand, she smirked at me and opened her mouth.
"It's nice to meet you Alex." Natalie said.
"Nice to meet you as well." I said as I lazily shook her hand.
Turning my head, I noticed Devon awkwardly standing there so I made my hand into a fist so he could fist pump it.
"Hey." I said.
Smiling, he fist pump my fist and said hey back.
"Hey sky, how about you show Devon the house and ask him about the things inside it."
"OK!" Sky exclaimed as she grabbed Devon's hand and dragged him inside the house causing him to laugh.
I held my hand up in front of Natalie as soon as I saw her mouth opened. I listened to Devon and Sky footstep before deciding it was safe to have a conversation.
"What were you gonna say?" I asked.
"I was gonna ask if you knew how to use a phone."
"Of course I do."
"Then maybe you should use it."
"Well I've had my hands pretty full lately."
"What with you're wife or something?'
Instantly, I felt as if someone was squeezing my heart and the air in my lungs were knock out.
I ended up bending and trying to catch my breath.
Taking in deep breath, I was able to stop my heart from pumping blood, something that can cause me to die since I'm not human.
"You ok?" Natalie asked as she looked at me with concern.
"Yea... don't worry about it." I asked as I stood back up.
"Well ok, but anywhose is that you're daughter?" Natalie asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Huh?"
"Skylar, I mean I think it's kind of cliché naming her after your wife but whatever."
"She's not my daughter..." I mumbled.
"What do you mean, she looks just like Skylar minus the hair and she's super pale like you."
"Maybe that's because she is Skylar." I mumbled.
"Huh?" Natalie asked, looking at me as if I was crazy.
Looking at the ground I decided to just sit down. I didn't want to stand when I told Natalie what happened to Skylar.
Looking at me, she decided to follow suit and did the same thing.
"Ok.... Skylar is actually Skylar."
"That doesn't make sense, explain."
"Oh myself.... ok. Remember when I got hit with that bullet from your father? Well when I did so, I ended up giving my power to Skylar. My father tricked Skylar into saving me and she ended up dying so I could live. He wanted to make sure I could live so I could take over the throne in the heaven's skies. Skylar died but my father put her soul into a new form in Demetrius's stomach, Skylar's mom."
"So what you're saying is.... that isn't Skylar but it is?" Natalie asked.
"Yea kind of... I mean her soul is the same. The only difference is well... everything. She only knows me as her queen not her mate. I mean she doesn't even know I'm the sin of anger. She doesn't remember anything." I said.
Looking down, I started to pull out grass, trying my hardest not to cry.
"Wow that has to be tough seeing her grow up all over again."
"Yea it is... 17 years, soon 18."
"Wow..."
"Yea..father said she would have gain her memory of me again soon and she is... but it isn't fast enough."
"Things take time Alex."
Bitting my lips, I simply shrugged my shoulders.
Sighing, Natalie patted the ground before getting up.
Looking up, I stared at her face as she extend her hand for me to take.
Taking it, she helped me get up.
"Thanks."
"You welcome."
"You want to go inside?" I asked as I pointed at the door.
"No its fine, I just came to see if it was actually you."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Skylar told me about you, she isn't the smartest kid around."
"Yea well she doesn't know a hunter when she sees one." I said with a smirk.
"Ha as if, but maybe it's cause I'm not really into that anymore."
"Wait... so you're not the queen of the hunters." I said as I air quotes queen.
"Oh I am and I'm rocking the crown it's just, I don't want my children thinking its all about being one."
Nodding my head I couldn't help but to smile causing Natalie to smile too.
As I was about to open my mouth to speak I heard footsteps returning. Natalie heard them too since she tilted her head automatically like I did.
Like we thought, Devon and Sky came out of the house laughing and talking.
"Ready to go childo?" Natalie asked.
"Huh? oh yea sure."
Looking at Devon, I watched as he give Skylar a quick hug before walking over to his mother.
"Don't be a stranger Alex."
"I won't but if you ever need something tell me."
"I pray Alex, and they are always answered." Natalie said with a soft smile.
"That's cause they haven't forgotten you." I said with a wink.
Smiling at me, Natalie simply nodded her head.
"See you around Alex and Skylar." Natalie said as she started to turn around.
"You too and take care, both of ya." I said.
Nodding her head, Natalie got into her car, followed by Devon who waved bye to us.
Both Skylar and I waved back as we watch them start the car and drive off.
"Natalie seems nice." Skylar said.
"She is." I responded as I put my arm over Skylar shoulder.
"She is.."
