Paula Stokes once said 'To me, Mother Nature isn't nearly as scary as human nature', and personally I would have to agree. I have always had such a love and care for nature and part of it might be because of my wolfish connection to it, but that isn't the only reason. The main reason, in my opinion is the sheer beauty of mother nature itself, the animals, the plants, the trees and so much more. I mean who can watch a bird feeding her babies, or a spring flower blooming in the sunlight and think that they were anything other than magnificent beauties?
The way nature exists is fascinating, and although at times it can be cruel it is often a necessary cruelness unlike the cruelty of man. I known the true extent of how cruel human nature can be, considering I've known it personally almost all of my life. The despicable ways they take and take, trying to control everything trapped in their clutches in unnatural and inhumane ways. I've been subjected to their cruelty long enough to know that I would rather die than let them control me anymore, I honestly dare them to try.
Of course there are good and bad people in every species but I've only known the worst of humans for most of my life, considering I've been in foster care since I was little. I'm just starting to learn of the good they can offer after freeing myself from the cages of my past, now I turn to nature to help heal the haunting memories as I work to lend a hand to the very thing that helps me heal. Whether it be the beauty of the forests I love to run in, the love and respect of my pets, or the occasional benefits in my line of work. I've done my best to keep myself surrounded by the things I care for as much as possible for the past year, and it is helping.
I'm learning to smile again, truly smile, not just the fake and emotionless ones I've known for so long. I honestly thought I'd never get this far, to know this way of life outside of a locked cage. I might be completely on my own for the first time but that's fine by me, I certainly don't mind being free of the alternative. I am the one to rule my life from here on out, never will I return to the prison of my past and the horrors that it owns. I will hold my newfound freedom tightly in my grasp, and beware the fool who tries to take it because now I've got plenty of reason to fight. Like in the words of Bob Marley 'Better to die fighting for freedom, then be a prisoner all the days of your life'.
My past is one of evils and pain, but my future is full of the hope and excitement for whatever lies ahead. My name is Sidney Blake, lone alpha, nomad, and deadly force to be reckoned with.
