^briar but imagine thicker hair^

LET ME TELL YALL. FOR STARTERS, MALIGNANT HIT 2 MILLION!! THATS CRAZY AND I WAS IN TEARS SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THIS LOVE AND SUPPORT. AND SECOND OF ALL, I SPENT THREE HOURS, THREE HOURS, WRITING A SKELETON OF THE REST OF DEVOTION BY EACH CHAPTER.

NOt JOKING, from chapter 248- to the end of this book, I wrote what's going to happen in each chapter so it all lines up exactly how I want, given it's the last book. And I have to tell you, this book is going to get fucking wild. I got so stressed writing how many ups and downs these next 50+ chapters are gonna get.

STRAP IN QUEENS- WERE GOING FULL SWING.

ASLO HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A SIDE PROJECT HEHE ;)

Amelia Adams

"Harry you need to be there! You haven't seen the rest of Malignant in way to fucking long!" Louis follows Harry around the kitchen, almost begging him to go to this party at his house this weekend. We were all sat in the kitchen except Niall, just finishing dinner. Briar was sitting in her highchair smearing food all over her table top, and Harry was clearing the table.

"Louis we can't just drop all of our responsibilities to go get drunk." Harry chuckles while bringing a bunch of plates to the sink as Louis was almost attached to his back.

"Like what?" He questions.

"Hmm I don't know.." he drops the plates. "Maybe my daughter who is sitting right over there." He finishes.

"Harry if it's anything, I can stay home and watch her while you go." I state my input. I really don't mind not going.

"Perfect!" Louis smiles.

"No, not perfect. I'm not leaving Briar and Amelia in this house alone, miles from the party." He instantly rejects, making Louis grown.

"It's not like you have a state of the art security system and no one has came by here in literal months." Louis tries to justify.

"Not good enough." He declines while walking back over to pick up the remaining dishes on the table.

"Okay then doesn't Amelia have parents that watch her? Give Briar to them for the night." Louis suggests.

"Louis why do you care so badly if I go?" Harry scuffles.

"Because I understand you have stepped down at the moment as leader but people still ask about you and you haven't been to any meetings in months. At least go to this." Louis argues, honestly making a valid point.

"Babe it's really no problem bringing her to my parents. You know they love to see Briar." I explain as Harry grabs a washcloth and walks over to Briar in the highchair, wiping her mouth and cheeks of the baby food remains.

"Are you sure? We will only go for an hour or two." Harry asks in uncertainty.

"Yeah, it's fine." I nod, not understanding why he seems so hesitant.

"Perfect!" Louis exclaims as Harry takes off Briar's highchair table off of her, unstrapping her from the seat. She squirms as he lifts her up, her legs and arms moving in all different directions. I laugh as she swings her arms around, knowing exactly what she wants.

"Alright alright I know." He says to her frazzled hyper ness, putting her in the floor to where she crawls lightning speed away and around the kitchen in circles. Her giggling laughter fills the room as she crawled.

All she wants to do is crawl now, and she's so fast at it. It's been her knew favourite thing and we really have to keep an eye on her now.

"You both need to let loose, get out of parent land for a little bit. One night won't kill y-" Louis pauses and looks down at Briar crawling onto his foot and sitting on it, wrapping her arms around his leg. She laughs and looks up at him from his shin, smiling.

I chuckle as Louis stares down at Briar, stopping his sentence.

"Right." Louis says. "Erm, just go to the party okay?" He says while picking her up by the armpits and bringing her to me, holding her out as I retrieve her.

"We'll be there." Harry mumbles.

"Good. See you then." He smirks before walking out of the kitchen and soon to be out of the house. When the sound of the door shuts, we knew we were alone.

"Why are you so iffy about going?" I ask out of curiosity, bouncing Briar on my lap. He stands by the sink, starting to wash dishes with a shrug.

"I just haven't been around that lifestyle in a while." He murmurs with hiddenness in his low voice.

"Lifestyle as in the alcohol and drugs, or lifestyle as in the murderers?"

"The crowd I guess." He answers shortly.

"What's making you feel weird? It's your gang after all.."

"It's been you, me and Briar for so long. I haven't delt with anything involving Malignant- not since I blew up the Deception headquarters and.." He trails off.

"And killed Axel." I finish for him as he froze.

He nods to my answer, scrubbing the plates and not looking at me but at the sink.

"You don't talk about it very much you know.. What happened that day." I whisper near the end.

"I told you want happened. I killed him with the rock." He answers.

"I know how you killed him. But you never talk about how it made you feel. Every since then, you avoid anything that involves the gang." I state while Briar turns around on my lap and wraps her arms around my neck, hugging me.

"Briar was born." He simply answers.

"I know, but going to something like this gathering won't be anything dangerous. They typically never are." I explain while rubbing Briar's back.

"Don't jinx it." He warns. "Plus, I'm not worried about the danger. I'm worried about becoming the danger." He says quietly so I could just hear him.

"You think you'll blackout? You haven't done that since you've been on the meds Harry." I arch my brow.

"No, not blackout - I don't know." He trials. "It's just.. I've tried so hard to be better, for you and for her. And I'm making progress, but I don't want to backtrack." He shuts off the tap and dries his hands with the kitchen towel.

"I know you're trying Harry and you've been an amazing father to her, but you can't be so admit that one little party is going to spiral you. Don't get me wrong, I'd love if you could throw the whole gang life behind you but I know that isn't an option right now. Do you think after ten minutes of spending time with the gang, you will become..the.."

"-Murdering psychopath I was before?" He finishes my sentence as I struggled to depict the right words.

"I wasn't going to say that." I shake my head.

"I know, because you're my fiancé and you love me. But it's true, I was a murdering psychopath and some of the things I've done never bothered me until I fell in love with you." He walks around the island and back to the kitchen table, slouching down at the seat across from me.

"Is something else bothering you?" I ask, having a feeling that there was something else on his mind. "Do you.. regret killing you father?" I further specify.

"No." He shakes his head. "My father deserved to die. And I'm glad I'm the one that did it," His fingers tapped on the table, his rings knocking against the wood surface.

"I know, but it's okay to admit that it was very traumatic moment in your life. It wasn't just a bullet to the head Harry." I murmur, knowing how he described his fathers gruesome death to me with the rock.

He looks at his hand on the table, staying slouched back in his chair while stopping his tapping. He was avoiding eye contact, lost in his own gaze.

Briar yawns with her head on my shoulder, ready to pass out any second. Harry stands up and steps over to take her from me.

"Let's put you to bed muppet." He mumbles while bringing her to his chest, keeping his forearm under we while his other arm was down at his side.

"Don't avoid the situation Harry." I say.

"I'm not, I'm putting Briar to bed. We'll go to the gathering tomorrow alight? I'll be fine. I need a drink anyway." He nods before turning around and walking out of the kitchen with Briar falling asleep on his shoulder.
