Cindy's POV
I quickly got out my car and I felt my skin boiling as walked up to Kyle's house, I didn't care how I was going to do it but I was going to get my husband out of that hell hole before he was sentenced, tomorrow.
I knew the odds were against him and nothing that he or his lawyer said was going to convince him otherwise.
I didn't knock on the door but rather I banged that door so hard that I nearly felt the bolts move out of place and to my surprise Sharen unlocked the door.
"Oh if it isn't the sweet and darling Cindy, what are you doing here"
I was so angry because I knew what she was doing, she was planning my husband's demise with her lover Kyle. I didn't answer her rather I pushed her out of the way and made my way to Kyle's living. Sharen screaming behind me didn't scare me at all.
Kyle was sitting on his sofa with a glass of whisky in his hands and he didn't look surprised to see me at all.
"Oh Cindy what do I owe this--"
"Shut up, just shut up Kyle! how much do you want?"
"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about my dear"
"Kyle I know you want money from my husband you've always been jealous of his success!"
"Cindy this isn't about money any longer I'm going to ruin your husband right before your eyes"
"But why! what has my poor husband ever done to you?"
He quickly stood up from the sofa and bent to place his glass of whisky down on the table. He talked up to me and I looked up at him.
"This isn't about money anymore this about revenge. Do you know how much it sucked to live behind his shadow every single time. he was always better than me in sports, business and even with garbage like you he transformed. now leave my house"
I swallowed the bile in my throat and I began to walk out and that's when I realized that I needed to get something.
"before I leave I need to get something"
"If you mean you want to get the voice recorder that you left at my house, I suggest you forget about that because I've deleted everything"
He took the recorder and put it into my bag and the whole time I didn't take my eyes off of him.
I stood in the same spot and I couldn't even move, the last chance I had to save my husband I totally blew it away and now he was going to spend the rest of his life in prison.
"You bastard! He loved you like a brother and you betrayed him... hoe could you do this to Felix?"
Sharen pulled me from the back and dragged me out of the house whilst I yelled and kicked and cried my lungs out. On my way home whilst driving I couldn't help myself but to cry.
My vision kept blurring and I couldn't stop the tears from crying because I knew that it was over.

I couldn't remember a time where I was this tired and suffered from a lack of motivation. The courtroom began to fill up and I knew that they knew that my husband was doomed ... we all felt it and everyone did too.
My husband came into the courtroom and as soon as I saw him I began to cry my eyes out, he looked at me and mouthed it's going to be okay'. That broke my heart even more because I knew it wasn't , maybe I wasn't as strong as he was.
The judge came into the courtroom everyone stood but I didn't stand at all, why should I this man was going to sentence my husband jail for crying out loud.
The court proceedings began and not long it was almost time for the sentencing, my husband looked back at me and smiled and I swear I felt the pain ripple through my body.
Please let this all end, please let it end.
I prayed in my mind and hoped that this was all a dream and that my husband and I were at home, just watching a movie or something.
"My lord I believe we have one more piece to present before the jury"
There were muffled sounds in the courtroom forcing me to sit firmly onto the seat. My husband's lawyer pulled out voice recorder and it looked like the one I had left in Kyle's office.
This can't be Kyle placed the recorder into my bag but—
I looked at the bag next to me and luckily it was the same one that I took to Kyle's house and when I scratched in it I found the recorder, but it wasn't mine, it wasn't even the same make or design as mine.
My mind was baffled and I couldn't quite put the pieces together because the voice recorder was here with me but it wasn't mine and the one that was with my husband's lawyer was as mine but it as with him. I focused my attention to my husbands lawyer whilst he spoke to the judge.
"My lord is you look properly this is a recorder that was placed in Mr. Kyles house and it recorded Mr. Kyle and Mrs. Sharen incriminating themselves.. Can I please play it"
"Yes you may"
"You know no one can tell you're a monster by looking at these pictures with you and my husband"
"No. Your boss"
"Why are you so bent on denying the fact that I'm married to your friend?"
"First of all you're a slave and nothing but a slave just because you caught yourself a big fish like my friend and also inherited the family name doesn't make you part of our class"
"You can never deny that Felix loves me"
"He doesn't love you! He just feels guilty for you. This is not some fairy-tale where the rich prince marries the poor maid... reality doesn't work like that my sweet Cindy"
"So when you brought me from those men what was your plan?"
"To sell you of course"
"To sell me to Felix?"
"Of course not, he would never have done it. Just imagine my friend Felix who always obeys the law, buying a slave"
"Then why did you bring me to him?"
"Well let's just say that the first buyer pulled out and I needed a fall guy--"
"So you'd betray your own best friend"
"Yes! I'd betray my own mother for just the right amount of money Cindy"
"So there no chance of you telling the truth to help your friend"
"Not even if he walked over hot coal for me"
"Well then I guess I have nothing left to say to you Kyle"
The courtroom was filled with silenced and we heard doors slamming and footsteps on the voice recorder, held my breath patiently waiting for more to come out of this and just like clockwork it actually did and it was Sharen's voice.
"What was she doing here?"
"Relax Sharen there's nothing to be afraid of"
"Kyle, with you there's always something to be afraid of"
"Don't you trust me Sharen?"
"Kyle I'd rather trust a snake over you. Enough with the games!"
"What are you doing here anyway Sharen, I told you people can't see us together. What if Cindy saw you here then what?"
"Then nothing! She already figured out that me and you are making up all this to keep Felix in jail. Come to think of it I don't like this plan"
"What's wrong with our plan?"
"You're getting your revenge on Felix and what am I getting in return, because I can't keep Felix to myself because he'll probably be going to jail for a very long time and I'm not waiting a long time for no man"
"Do you really think that I'm that stupid?"
"What's the plan Kyle?"
"I know a guy. Think like this, with Felix gone his law firm will practically fall apart"
"How?"
"Investors will start panicking and sell their shares, clients will distance themselves from the drama and that's where my guy comes in. He buys the law firm at a low price, the investors come back as well as clients and we get a piece of the pie"
"Wow Kyle so you've had all this figured out huh?
"Yes I did Sharen and one more thing"
"What?"
"Don't ever threaten me Sharen"
"Kyle I'm dangerous"
"Killing your ex-husband isn't dangerous. When you've killed the amount of people I've killed then maybe you can call yourself dangerous but until then you don't stand a chance"
I walked up to my wine cabinet and pulled out a bottle of red wine accompanied by two glasses.
"Let's celebrate"
"Celebrate what, that pathetic argument you pulled at the court?"
"Forget about that the judge will still believe our story but it's now up to you at next court ruling to shine without a hiccup"
"Don't worry Sharen, I'm not into poisoning that's your thing remember, I like victims to see me doing the deed"
The court was startled by what they were hearing and so was I, the recordings went on further to implicate the two of them for their crimes and before we knew Kyle was running out of the courtroom before the officer body slammed him into the walls of the courtroom and he was cuffed. Sharen on the other hand had her hands placed over her mouth ,trying to keep the sobs in but the female officer took her hands and cuffed it behind her back and she was being taken away.
The judge adjourned the court and it was scheduled for 3 days after today. I couldn't hold my excitement because I felt it in the courtroom, everyone looked at me differently it wasn't hate like before it was different I'd say.
My husband was being taken away but right before he looked at me and smile and mouthed the words 'I love you' and I mouthed 'I love you two'.
