Zayn's POV

I wasn't the best with kids, so when Niall and Caitlin asked me to watch their teenage daughter, I wasn't exactly excited.
"She'll sit around and watch television for most fo the day," Caitlin told me. I tried to smile, but it came out as a grimace.
"You're alright to do this, Z?" Niall wondered, resting a hand on my shoulder as we stood on their porch. I got myself together, reminding myself that it was only for the day.
"Of course," I grinned, convincing them. They left, and I waved them off.
"Hey," I spoke as their daughter, Emily, walked up to me.
"I'm gonna play some video games," she glared, letting me know that it indeed was a hostile environment.
"Can I watch?" I wondered, staring down at her.
"Whatever," she muttered, walking to the living room. I watched her fail at a couple games, and she seemed embarrassed that I was watching, so I tried to fall asleep.
Eventually, I did drift off in an uncomfortable position.
When I woke up, orange and red flooded through the windows, making me feel pretty irresponsible.
"Zayn?" I heard Emily whimper. I sat immediately, seeing her a few feet away from me.
"What's wrong?" I panicked, seeing the tears on her cheeks.
"I-" She stopped, unsure of herself, and I stood up. "I got my period."
For a second, I just stood there, trying to figure out if it was a joke or if she was actually freaking out.
"I don't know what to do," she sobbed, walking over and hugging me.
Okay.
"Why don't you go stand in the bathroom upstairs?" I suggested, watching her look confused but do it anyway.
I pulled out my phone, quickly dialing Niall's number.
"Hey, what's-"
"Can I talk to Caitlin?" I cut in, hearing abit of rustling.
"Zayn?" she wondered, sounding worried.
"Where are your pads?" The second after I said it, I felt my cheeks burn.
"I mean-"
"What? Why?" she rushed, making me feel panicked, too.
"Emily got her period," I sighed, checking the drawers in the bathroom downstairs. I didn't find anything, realizing she was quiet.
"Hello?" I called into the phone. They had hung up on me.
Great, I groaned, running upstairs and into the bathroom.
"You alright?" I asked, glancing at her before rummaging through the drawers. I finally found tampons, shrugging. They would have to suffice.
"Here," I sighed, chucking them at her.
"What? These are tampons," she glared, throwing them to the ground.
"And?" I wondered, picking them up.
"Do you even know what tampons are?" I nodded, but why would I need to know?
"Ugh," she grumbled, face-palming. I heard someone talking downstairs, quickly running down there.
"Zayn!" Caitlin exclaimed, scaring the pants off of me. "Where is she?" I pointed towards the stairs, watching her quickly ascend them.
"Thanks for calling us," Niall sighed, glancing at me. I chuckled.
"How long did it take you guys to get here?" I wondered, leaning against the wall.
"She may or may not have sped the whole way home," he shrugged, laughing. I laughed with him, glad that I didn't have to deal with their kid anymore.
"Let's watch some football," he smiled, and we did just that.
