Human (Request)

I continued walking, searching for the food court. I always got turned around in the mall.

I should have paid attention to the signs warning me of uneven grounds -- they were doing construction -- but I didn't.

I felt myself falling two seconds too late, so I was already on the ground. To add to all of it, someone stepped on my hand as I tried to get back. I let out a shriek, staring up at the person who just crushed my fingers.

"I'm so sorry," he rushed, offering a hand to help me up. I used my uninjured hand to pull myself up, brushing myself off.

"You stepped on me," I sighed, shaking my head. I was mad at first, but he was so cute that I didn't want to ruin my chances with him.

"I'm sorry-" he repeated.

"I'm a human being, and you stepped on me," I tried to say without laughing.

He full out laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I said I was sorry," he grinned, and I liked the fact that he was laughing so willingly.

"I'm a human being that's taller than you-"

"You are not taller than me," he scoffed, glancing at the top of my head. I used my hand to show him that I was less than half an inch taller than him. I had to flatten out his hair, feeling how soft it was. I blushed at that, and I knew he could see. 

He gritted his teeth playfully that I was taller than him, and then he grabbed my wrist, pulling it away from his head. It was the hand that he had stepped on, and it was flashing red.

He took my hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing it.

"If you're a human being, then how are you so beautiful?" he wondered. I opened my mouth to answer him, but nothing came out. I blushed harder than before, looking away. "Only goddesses are this beautiful," he smirked, and I bit back a grin.

"Okay, that was smooth, I've got to admit," I shrugged, feeling him release my hand. He suddenly came and stood next to me, slipping his arm around my waist. We began walking.

"So was that," he agreed. "And so is me asking you to lunch." I breathed out, forgetting about the pain in my hand and starting to think about the happiness in my heart.
