3.5 years later....
"Kim Areum!" You call out to your precious yet naughty little girl who apparently was hiding away from you-
One thing she always does whenever she finds out her favorite cookies that you hide away from her, however to no avail anymore since she somehow has started to become clever every single day and by now she knows that it's inside the drawer by your bed side that you nicely stack in those cookies..
"Areumie.." you sing song as you start walking closer inside her playroom. A suppressed chuckle leaves your lips as you could see her bum protruding out in her attempts to slump behind her plastic play slide..
You could see her bum swaying a little as she tries peeking through the slide's hole to see if you have caught her already..
You press your lips and start looking around-- acting like you don't know about her whereabouts at all..
"Hmm.... Where's my little monster?" You put one of your fingers across your cheeks and the other hand rests on your waist as you pretend to search for her.
You thump your feet and look around here and there, waiting for your little darling to finally give up and say sorry but of course she wasn't that easy.
"Hmmphh.. Let me check there" you act out as you begin walking towards the slide and there you see her get scared so much so as though she just saw a ghost!
"Aaaaah!!" She shouts her life out as she sees you standing above her tiny frame and there she gets up at, attempting to run like a quicksilver but your reflexes were quick enough this time to pick her in your arms.
"You naughty baby!" You scold as you raise her a little higher and spank her bum playfully making her wince even though it didn't even hurt her..
"Eomma! I-I didn't eat it.. pomise" she pleads as you take her out inside your shared room..
"Oh you pomise?" You pout as you sit on the bed and put your kiddo on your laps, "you pomise?" You repeat but in a baby voice this time as you attack her with kisses all over her tiny face..
She starts chuckling and she squirms her little body in your embrace as she attempts to do the same to you but of course you were stronger and the poor being gets entrapped by your never ending kisses and pecks before you finally plop on bed. Your babygirl sits on your stomach and she hugs you tightly..
"Eomma.." she pouts and purs her lips on your belly
"Yes eomma's baby" you ask as you caress her back soothingly, it felt so warm and so heaven like to someone whom you could actually call as your own. YOUR OWN. She was your creation and you were so proud of it that if given an opportunity you could just flaunt about your little girl forever..
Ever since you went AWOL from your husband's house, you had lived the rest of your remaining pregnancy months with your friend and yeah you did get phonecalls from him but you had turned your phone off and had even switched to a new phone after a while so that he never calls you back.
You knew he had gone to your parents and whoever he knew was your acquaintance but to no avail..
Your parents did ask you about what happened but you just decided to cut off ties from everyone else and your parents did try to put some sense in your head but you ended up changing the city so that you could start a fresh life with the only person that mattered you the most, your princess and now here you were, working as music (casio) teacher for kids..
"Eomma..... cookies?" She asks you as she shakes the pack which you hadn't realized was still in her grip..
You let out a hearty laugh at her adorableness..
She was so cute and squishy that it was hard to believe that this angel is your creation.
"Okay okay! Areum will have her cookies but after practice"
"Pactice?" She repeats as she looks at you, putting her cute little hands over your chest
"Hmm.... Areumie doesn't wants to play casio?" You ask with a hint of suspicion. Your girl's eyes to brighten up as she hears the word casio.. well you had been taking her to the classes as well and were intending to teach her to play it too so that she makes it as her hobby once she grows up and you could see how good she was considering her age..
"Les go!!" She cheers excitedly making you awe at her cuteness..

You smile as you see your students playing the casio so dedicatedly. It made your chest swell up with pride to realize how productive you were being..
It was something that was missing from the time when you were with him..
Him.
Yes your heart still aches whenever you think about jungkook.. your instincts still makes you wonder if hes still okay, if he's doing good.
You had come to know that your cousin had gotten hitched about 3.5 years ago and you also got the wind that it wasn't jungkook..
Maybe he found someone else?
"Eomma!" Your daughter shakes you from your thoughts as she clutches on to your dress tightly, her eyes sparkling like diamonds-- you knew she wanted attention from you..
"Yes baby" you rotate your chair and pick her up, she humphs and whines.. yeah well these days she was getting a little cranky and you wondered if that had something to do with having a single parent (?)
Areum had only started to go to school and of course she saw how her friends and classmates would be fetched by two adults and sometimes by a female figure and on some days by a male..
You knew kids are curious beings and they start getting confused if something is missing from their life..
In areum's case it was her father..
Your daughter had once asked you something regarding this. It was this one day while you were dropping her to school and out of nowhere she asked you, "what is a father?"
Your heart pinched so much and for a while you were unable to produce any sound. Words were so difficult to comprehend that all that came out was nothing but those salty tears!
You did show areum Jungkook's photos that day because of course it wasn't justified for the poor girl to remain completely unaware about the fact that even she has someone called a 'father' in her life alike her classmates except that he is physically absent..
"Eomma.... play!" She whines as she randomly presses her fingers on your casio producing a non coherent sound in the process..
You smile and nod at your daughter, you bring your chair closer to the instrument while having your girl still on your laps..
"But then baby won't disturb eomma, hmm? Your oppas and eonnie's will get distracted" you point at your students who were still busy practicing..
She nods as she looks at you with her big eyes..
"Okay then!"

You begin playing the notes of your favorite song.. perhaps it was out of genuineness that you had picked this song or maybe it was just because you didn't recall any other song at the moment..

You were so mesmerized in singing the song while looking at the ponytail of your daughter bouncing at the beats that you hadn't even realized how someone was standing by the doorframe, staring you for god-knows how much fvcking time!
Your peripheral vision sees a guy standing at the doorframe and that leads you to quickly place your daughter on the floor and you get up to greet the person, maybe it was some parent of one of your students or maybe someone asking for admission..
You turn towards the door but your feet stops moving-- in fact it felt like ever single atom in your body had stopped working for a while. You almost felt dead when you meet his orbs falling straight into yours without even a blink!
"Appa?"
Your head turns downwards to see areum, hiding behind your legs, pulling your leggings as she questions whether her doubts were true about that person standing in front of you both to be her father. Indeed it was him.
"Jungkook?" You speak, almost inaudibly.. a tear slips down your eyes as you keep staring his frame for what seemed like forever.
His features were the same, his style of standing was the same, his way of looking at you was the same, he was the same but- your bond had changed.. it felt so strange to see him again even though a part of you had always desired to see him once again but.. it felt a bit awkward when it was actually happening..
"You are one heartbreaker, aren't you?" He finally speaks as he walks closer to you.. you could now clearly see his eyes glistening, maybe they already were but you were too caught up in the moment to notice the same..
"She's beautiful.. our daughter" he says, smiling genuinely as he looks at your girl who was now holding the life out of your leg while peeking at your husband- her father..
Yes you still had the chance to call him your husband as you were separated, not divorced.. you did not even give that a chance since all you wanted to do was run away for good!
"Jungkook wh-"
"Before you flood me with questions about how I got here, why I got here and sh*t.... Let me clarify something, I found out about you shifting here a few months ago and- " he sniffles, "god it was so hard for me y/n.. you left me without a good explanation, god dammit!" His lips begin to tremble and so does yours..
"Without an explanation? Excuse me? Wasn't my cousin enough explanation, jungkook? Wasn't my insults being called your wife a good explanation?" Your voice cracks and more tears start falling down your eyes
"What are you blabbering about-"
"Stop acting as though you don't know what I am talking about, I saw everything that evening.. the- the day I left that is.."
His brows raise in utter confusion and he begins reading your face, trying to get some hint or a cue to understand what you were getting at..
You roll your eyes and wipe your tears, "oh god! You're such a player I'm-" you begin turning around but he grips your arms and brings you an inch closer to him..
"Tell me, please.." he pleads making you shaken at the desperate tone of his voice
"Yo-you kissed her." You whisper, withdrawing yourself from his grip
His mouth is left half open and he tries to comprehend everything, putting two on two together he finally runs his temples in dismay..
"I never did! I swear I never did that! Trust me y/n it was her.. really!" He defends himself but as though you were ears to that..
You begin turning around again but his whines stops you, he was indeed in pain.. you could tell.
"Listen to me. Please" he begs you, "I-I really had broken all my contacts with her but she was too disturbed when she realized that she was getting married soon. She would threaten me, y/n.. she would say that she'll spread vicious rumors about us and I was helpless. I still tried to stay away from her as much as I could and believe it or not but I never loved her. Never" he cries, his breath hitching in the process..
Your head hangs low and your hands drop to their sides as you felt guilty. You didn't know whether to actually believe him because a broken trust is hard to fixate just through words..
You wanted to protest but it felt like you were completely drained out of every ounce of energy you had..
"I know you won't believe it but trust me y/n.. it's what it was and and I was so happy that she's gonna get married and all my problems would be put to an end but they only got worse the day I saw you missing.. you could've killed me instead.." his cries muffles in his sweatshirt sleeves
You hum, not sure of what to say next..
"And about what you wrote to me.." he sniffs as he rolls something out from his pockets making you bite your lips in anticipation for what's to come next..
He picks a small chit in between his fingers as he quotes the small letter you had written to him the last day..
"Make a wise decision this time, huh?" He mumbles
"There won't be a choice wiser than getting you back into my life along with our little girl y/n.." he looks for you, getting more and more anxious every passing second as you keep mum
"Y/n.." he cries
"She likes banana milkshake like you" you sniff, bringing areum in front of you..
Jungkook looks at you almost shocked to hear you talking and his eyes move towards his girl, "Aww my beautiful babygirl" he whispers as he kneels down to meet her but your girl steps back making him feel hurt to scare his own daughter..
"Areum.. he's your appa baby.. say hi to him" you murmur weakly ruffling her hair
"Hi" she chimes after thinking for a while which causes kook's heart to flutter.. her voice was too sweet to be true..
"Hi baby.." he laughs in between his stiffen cries
He looks up at you murmuring I love you both and you in turn pass him a weak smile of surety,
"I love you too!"
