Steve had yet to turn back to normal. You didn't necessarily mind despite it being a little odd. You were thankful that Bucky was his normal age now because he gave Steve his baths and changed his diapers even though you offered to help.
"You know our Ma's took pictures of us as babies. All we had on was diapers. It's really embarrassing to look at, but my sister got lucky that my ma actually put some clothes on her." Bucky laughed as you turned to him.
Bucky just finished giving Steve a bath, and all Steve had on was a diaper. Bucky handed Steve to you so you could put on his clothes. Bucky was fixing to pack Steve's diaper bag, but before he left he quickly kissed your lips.
You giggled as he left, and you began to pick out Steve's clothes. It was getting cooler, so you put a collared shirt on him. Then you managed to find a shirt with his shield on it, so you put it ontop of that. You then gave him some blue jeans. You put his socks and shoes on, and then you brushed his soft golden hair. After, you gave him a little beanie that had bear ears on it.
"Stevie you look so adorable." You took a picture and then picked him up settling him on your waist. You met Bucky in the kitchen, as he was putting snacks in Steve's bag.
"You ready?" You asked.
"Of course I am. Everything's in the bag." He picked up the bag and walked to you taking hold of your hand as he kissed your cheek. "I'm glad you dress him because the poor kid would look awful if I had to choose."
You couldn't help but giggle shaking your head, "I'm sure Steve would look fine in whatever you would pick Bucky."
You all walked to your car where you installed a car seat for Steve so you wouldn't have to keep borrowing Tony's. You buckled Steve in, and then you got in the passenger side while Bucky started up the car.
"You think it'll snow today?" Bucky asked as he pulled out of the compound.
"I hope so. I'd love to take some pictures of the little guy in the snow." You looked back to Steve who was cuddling his favorite stuffed puppy.
"Man, what are we gonna do when he grows up? I'm gonna miss taking care of him like I used to." Bucky frowned as he looked to the road in front of him.
"At least we'll have pictures." You giggled holding up your phone and camera.
Then things got quiet all the sudden. "I'm sorry." Bucky whispered.
"Why are you sorry?" You intertwined you fingers with his as you kissed the top of his hand.
"I'm sorry that I can't biologically give you children." He faintly spoke.
"Oh Bucky, don't say that. I'd have to be saying sorry as well. But Bucky, that doesn't mean we can't adopt. It might take several years, but I've been researching agencies. It's honestly okay with me. Steve being so small has been an opportunity for us to see what it's like to raise a kiddo before we decided to permanently have a kid to raise. He's been an angel... Then again he is Steve so... Not only that, but we'll already pretty much have everything we need other than food and diapers, unless of course we ended up having a little girl."
Bucky laughed as a small tear escaped his eye, and you squeezed his hand. "Hey... The doctors said there still was a small chance for us to have a biological child, so we can still try... I have hope Bucky wether biological or not that we'll actually get to be parents one day to a wonderful little kiddo okay."
He smiled slightly as he nodded his head, "Yeah. I should remain hopeful too. Thanks for shedding some light on the situation I wish I hadn't brought up."
"Sometimes it just has to be brought up, and that's okay. Now let's enjoy our picnic at the park.
Bucky nodded as he stopped the car and grabbed the pre packed picnic basket as well as Steve's diaper bag. You picked up little Steve and locked the door after you and Bucky got out everything you needed.
You found a nice spot and placed everything as it should be. You couldn't help but take pictures of Steve in his little outfit. He was full of merriment. Then you and Bucky sat down and got out the food.
"Here, I'll feed Steve. You can go ahead and eat." You offered to Bucky.
"No you go ahead. You fed him dinner yesterday so I'll take feed Steve picnic food duty." Bucky smiled.
You knew you couldn't win that argument, so you gave Steve to Bucky as you ate the food. When you finished eating, you took Steve so Bucky could eat. Once you both finished, Bucky put up the basket and blanket. Then he walked back, and you both took Steve to the playground.
You put Steve on your lap so you could slide down the slide with him. You were having so much fun that you didn't notice Bucky videoing both Steve and you. (Which you didn't mind.)
Then you put him in one of the baby swings and let Bucky push him. "Oh, Steve's had a number two. I'll be back." Bucky picked him up and grabbed a diaper from the bag.
Bucky had become a pro, because it wasn't long before he returned. Then Steve let out a tiny yawn.
"I guess it's time to go home." You smiled.
"Guess so." Bucky returned the smiled, and you grabbed Steve's diaper bag.
"Oh, you're son is so cute." An elderly woman walked up to you both.
Bucky looked to Steve smiling then he spoke in that baby voice, "Say thank you Stevie. Thank you."
Steve just babbled in delight before he reached his hands out to you, and you took Steve in your arms.
"Aww that's so sweet. I didn't mean to interrupt y'all's day, but I just thought you all were the cutest little family." She smiled.
"Thank you." You and Bucky smiled.
"You're welcome. Now y'all have a nice day."
"You too ma'am." Bucky answered as she walked on.
You grined as you took hold of Bucky's flesh hand. Steve, you held on your hip with your other hand, and he laid his head on your chest as his eyes began to droop.
You finally made it to the car, and you put Steve in his seat placing his bag on the other side. Then you got in the car and Bucky had large grin.
"What?" You giggled as you held his hand again.
"I dunno doll. The way that kind lady said we looked like a family gave me an additional bit of hope." He squeezed your hand as he pulled out of the park.
"That's great Bucky. I just want you to know that I love you no matter what, and to be honest you are my family now. I'm just glad that you're in my life."
"I'm glad you're in my life too. I love you so much babydoll." He looked to you just for a second before he turned his attention to the road.
Then you looked back to check on Steve. "Aww little Stevie is asleep."
"Well we had a fun day, so I could see why." Bucky chuckled.
You finally made it back, and you just put Steve in his crib. You were looking down at him when your heard Frank Sinatra begin to play.
"Can I have a dance with my lovely wife?" Bucky whispered as you turned around.
"I always love to share a good dance with my husband." You giggled wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
"Oh doll, we aren't waltzin?"
"No. Unless you want to. I just want to lazily dance in slow circles with you. To be honest I'm getting a bit sleepy myself." You finished speaking with a yawn.
Before you could say anything, Bucky picked you up bridal style and began to slowly and gently spin you around in a little dance before he gently placed you on the bed.
"How about we take a nap too? One big ole power nap?"
The way he said that made you laugh. "Sure."
He laid down beside you, and you cuddled into his chest. Bucky then covered you both up and kissed the top of your head.
"Have a good nap darlin."
"You too Buckybear, and you too baby Stevie."
