One thing you've learnt through your thick and thins is the importance of time.
How much can this one word change lives of many is really worth pondering for..
For instance, time shows people's true colors, it exposes what you mean to someone, time heals deep rooted wounds... time is really one important aspect in life, in a nutshell. That's what you've learnt so far..
Over the past 6 years hence your graduation from college and your graduation from the 'old you', you've come so far.. you've tried changing yourself, moulded yourself up little by little and you can tell how much bold you are today if you review the 6 years back you.
Well that's because old ways never open new doors!
Yeah it was one brutal experience you'll never forget at least in this lifetime of how you were exploited by that boy back in college and being stubborn at your decision of never falling in love ever again was one thing you were balancing out on ever since then.
But you were wronged as you fell in love again and it was this little bundle of joy, your lifeline, your daughter- minji.
She was this cute little precious baby you had adopted a couple weeks ago from the orphanage you had been visiting for about an year now.
Call it the guilt of killing your own baby back a few years ago or call it as the way out to bring someone into your empty life, you had taken this huge step to adopt this little girl who was barely a month or two old..
Ever since your idea of adopting your babygirl, you had decided to take a break from the company you were previously working at and now you were doing a side job as an art teacher for toddlers at your apartment (a new and a spacious one than the oldie).
An year was more than enough for you to get adapt with those sulky, whiny kids mother's send at your home for extra curricular activities in the evening however now it's only during the weekends.
Of course you've kept it restricted only to the weekends now because handling minji is your top most priority and so you've decided to spend more time with your daughter than focusing at your side job..
You lightly keep thumping on your foot as your baby daughter sleeps soundly in your embrace while you manage to clean the kitchen slap so that you can also get to have a good afternoon sleep before the kids come to your doorstep in a few hours from now..
You sigh in victory as you finish with your daily errands and decide to sprint into your bedroom. The minute you place your babygirl on your bed she starts squirming around, her tiny toes curl inside and a frown forms on her face before she bursts into tears.
You immediately pick her up again, well minji is demanding, she requires full time attention and if you don't give her that boy she takes the whole house on fire!
"Hmm hmm.. eomma is here baby.. eomma is here" you whisper as you start rocking her and head inside the kitchen to heat her milk..
She snuggles around your neck throwing tantrums, she must be hella hungry to do all those karate moves on you for sure.
"Oh baby look! Aww it's minji's food! Look baby!" You try to turn her around to assure her that you were preparing her food so that she can somehow stop crying but no she keeps squirming in your embrace making you giggle and frown at the same time at her cuteness.
After making sure that the milk was heated at the right temperature for her to drink, you pour it down in her bottle, you bring her to the couch and shake the milk bottle in front of her misty eyes, the baby immediately tries to grab the milk bottle from your hands making you giggle.
You pat the baby's belly lightly for her to digest her food properly as she feeds, "is it tasty?" You coo at her in a baby voice. Your girl stares at you with twinkling eyes.
She was a gift given to you, poor being had her biological mother lost at birth and the cruel father had abandoned her into the orphanage to be looked after by someone..
As much as you felt like cussing the father to abandon such a pearl, you were stopped by your own thoughts.. you don't have the rights to blame her real father when you did something way terrible than him. You had killed your own child after all.. what could be more cruel than that?
Ever since you had layed your eyes on minji constant thoughts about how your child would have been like was running into your mind. Not that such thoughts never striked before, they did.. you've always been curious about the baby which was once growing inside your womb, the one you had no choice but to terminate because you were a kid at heart yourself. You were all alone, frightened and didn't know what exactly to do. The incident haunts you still and it will always haunt you forever no matter how hard you try to overcome it, it still manages to daunt you.
You see your baby daughter humming and trying to get the milk bottle away from her mouth.
"Ah! Let mommy check if minji's tummy is full-" you say as you place the bottle on top of the table top and raise her to peck her belly.
She lets out a giggle since she was most ticklish at that spot, "ah!" You exclaim, "baby is full.. now baby will sleep with mommy!" You say getting up but before you could get inside your room the sound of the doorbell stops you midway making you cuss at the person who decided it was a good idea to stop by at this godly hour!
Dragging your feet, you manage to click the doorknob with minji in your arms, who at the moment was busy playing with your hair.. well this cutie thinks that snatching, oozing out her drool and twirling your locks around her little finger's is her birthright.
"Ugh minji!" You say as she pulls your hair with force..
You sigh in dismay as you now decide to greet your guests but the minute your gaze lies on the person standing with a freezed expression as yours makes the rug sweep from under your feet.
For a couple seconds it was almost hard for you to come to terms that the person whom you loathed all these years, the person whom you've tried to forget and the person who's very much responsible for the woman that you've become today stands still with his fingers intertwined with a toddler standing by him, all lost like a little pup. You didn't even care if it was his child or not.. what does it even matters to you?
Minji squeals in your arms happily as she succeedes in unwrapping your poor locks from her fingers to which you start bouncing her while your eyes were still fixed coldly into the ones that were staring you back with guilt.
"Y/n?" He says smiling brightly, "how have you been?" "I-I didn't know you're an art teacher now.." he says with a smile still fixed on his god damn beautiful face.
"I'm not open for any admissions apparently sir, thank you for stopping by" you say coldly while closing the door in his face but he was faster to reflect and so he pushes the door further, "y/n please.." "I am only here for my nephew who's been begging me to take him here for about a week now.. his friends take your classes too" he pleads
You exhale sharply as you bore your eyes in the direction of the innocent kid who was hidden around jungkook's legs.
"Send him in two hours. Classes are held only on weekends at 5:00.. buy him a drawing book and a color set. I'll send you the fees memo. Thank you" you say patting minji's back.
She alerts you with the blabbering sounds to which you start bouncing her again..
"You- you are a mother?" He mumbles softly, "I must say you've got a beautiful child y/n.." he mutters with a genuine smile plastered on his face, "she is as beautiful as you.."
"Thanks" you put a fake smile as you begin closing the door again but he stop you.
"Thank you y/n.." he whispers..

and of course you found yourself on square one again. The whole afternoon had you thinking about him, why did his nephew out of all the art teachers out there had to choose you? Why did god set such destiny for you to meet him again?
You had wished to never see his face ever again in your life but now you're struck in a situation where you'll have to see his darn face every weekend!
Time passed by quickly with you lost in your own thoughts of having to deal with the misery again and it finally comes time when the doorbell starts ringing your ears alerting you about the toddlers who were waiting at your doorstep with their mommies.
You put the pacifier in minji's mouth and pick her up in your arms as you head to get the door and let the kids in.
As per usual, you greet all the mothers, who had now become your friends too. Not that chaeyoung and jisoo weren't your friends anymore, they still were but sadly they both had shifted to different towns after their marriage..
Bidding goodbye to the parents, you help the kids sit on the tiny desks you had bought for the classes. There weren't a huge lot of students, there were approx 7-8 of them.. all aged around 5-10 years of age mostly.
"Oh.. we've got hyuna and hyuk-ie missing today?" You ask as you look for your students,"anyways, Jiwoo, taemin, siwon.. color the apple that you had left last Sunday" "chaerin, eunha, sohye.. umm.. let's see what should I teach you today.."
You put minji on the carpeted floor so as to allow her to crawl freely as you sit next to the students, checking through the pile of drawing books so as to decide what masterpiece they should be drawing today..
The three girls bore their eyes into yours as you go through the drawing book when suddenly the sound of the doorbell makes you flinch in surprise to which the kids start laughing.. including minji as well as (she was only trying to get herself included with the other kids (-_-;) )
You stand up and bend down as you walk past minji, ruffling her soft few hair, "what are you laughing at minji baby?" You joke as you head towards the door.
Opening the door you find him standing in front of you again..
You press your lips together and decide to talk to the kid instead, "oh hello there.. come inside please"
The boy looks in the direction of his guardian. Jungkook clears his throat before speaking, "uh.. the thing is that he won't leave me.. so umm I uh I am going to have to be there till the class gets over"
You roll your eyes hearing that "well kids are a little afraid on their first days, sir but trust me I know how to handle them well" you pass a saccharine smile as you gesture the kid to come inside but he instead hides behind jungkook, who in turn gives you a puppy glare.
"Fine!" You scoff frustratingly, letting him and his nephew in.
You kneel down to level his nephew so as to build a rapport with him before inviting him with the rest of the kids..
"What's your name, child?" You ask with as much humbleness as you could muster. It wouldn't be a lie to admit that his nephew was indeed a sweetheart.. he looked to innocent, contrary to his uncle's demeanor.
He looks at you, holding his new brand art kit in his hands..
(That's him except he's not in his diapers of course.. 😂)
"Jinki.." he murmurs in a voice which was almost inaudible..
You smile at him, "oh wow that's a really nice name.."
"I kept it" jungkook interrupts making you get annoyed but you still manage to keep your calm..
You stand up and take jinki's hand in order to guide him inside this room you had now turned into a class.
Getting inside you find the kids chit chatting and two of the boys were busy entertaining minji.
"Kids.. we have a new addition in our class today.." you kneel down and face jinki, "jinki please introduce yourself to them baby"
He gulps as he looks shyly behind your back, you hadn't noticed that jungkook was standing right behind you, signaling his nephew to go ahead.
Jinki looks at the many eyes boring into his own, he gulps innocently and faces the floor, "I'm jinki.. and I'm 5 years old"
"Aww so cute!" You exclaim picking his finger to help him sit on one empty chair beside the three boys..
"Jinki open your drawing book and draw a house" you command to the boy who returns you an obedient nod.
You pick minji and press her bum to make sure her diaper wasn't heavy and thankfully every was clear and so you put her back on the carpeted floor and she resumes exploring the room on her own whims.
Jungkook chuckles as he sees minji, he sits on the floor next to her and begins to make weird faces to entertain her.
Little did you notice how your little girl was now staring at jungkook with twinkling eyes, she crawls slowly towards jungkook who was trying to play with the baby by showing her a candy.
"No eunha.. that's not how you draw a man baby.." you try scolding her in the sweetest voice possible as you rub off the disastrous piece of work but are stopped as soon as you hear minji's giggles.
You stare into her direction only to find her sitting on jungkook's laps as she tries catching the candy from his grip.
Jungkook giggles along and he opens the candy wrapper. He holds the sweet tightly around his fingers and brings it near minji's mouth to let her suck the same.
You gasp as you take it the other way round, "she can't eat yet! She's only two months old!"
Jungkook looks at you shocked, "what? Only 2 months old?? Woah you've maintained yourself well y/n.." he compliments your slim physique.. of course he had no idea about the baby being your adopted child..
You scoff at him, "whatever just pull that candy out her mouth!"
"Relax I know she can't eat.. I'm just letting her suck on it" he states as he cooes at minji in a funny way making the other kids around chuckle..
"Minji's appa is so cool!" Taemin exclaims
Wait what!? He thinks that he's- he's minji's father?? What the frick frack!!
You make an eye contact with jungkook, who apparently was still busy playing with your daughter..
Your heart was melting at the adorable sight but you never wanted that person to be him playing with her at least.. anyone but him!
The time comes when the parents again come back to pick their kids and after seeing them off, you find it was only jinki and his creepy uncle in the room with minji.
"Jinki, time to go home child.. I'll teach you how to make a scenery tomorrow, hmm?" You say ruffling his hair.. he nods and you begin packing his paraphernalia back into his tiny Batman backpack.
"Uh.. y/n.."
You almost freeze as you hear his voice in the silent room..
"I'm sorry.. please.." "I know I hurt you in terrible ways.... and I swear all these years I've tried nothing but to contact you and as fate may call it.. I finally found you" "I am truly sor-"
"Jungkook stop saying sorry okay. If you think your mere apologies would heal the wounds you gave me then you are so wrong.. although I'm glad you opened my eyes and made my perspective about love to fall on more realistic grounds. But if there's one thing I wish for.. it is that no woman should ever go through the pain of having to kill her own child like I did.."
You stand up, helping jinki to put his backpack around his shoulders.
Jungkook stares at you all lost. The guilt fixed on his facial expressions as he looks at you.
Jinki holds his uncle's fingers and starts shaking it for him to leave..
You pick minji up in your arms and give jungkook a sharp look, "I guess jinki will get more comfortable by tomorrow so you don't have to bother yourself coming here, hmm?" You say haughtily as you push past him.
