CHAPTER 12
Mira's POV
His actions and words were so familiar...
Suddenly, a memory flashed through my head. Dan telling me it would be alright and kissing the top of my head before going on a one week camp...
I looked up at him.
"Dan?"
"Yeah?" he asked, his eyes full of warmth.
"Did you go off to a one week camp before?" I asked.
His eyes lit up. "You remember everything now?"
"I - I think I remember some..."
"Come on then. Let's see if you remember Luke."
He led me to Luke's bedroom door and knocked.
Luke opened the door, his grey eyes full of confusion.
"Do you remember anything about him?" Dan asked quietly, and I saw Luke's eyes widen in excitement at the news.
He looked at me nervously. In that moment, I thought I had seen that exact expression before, but before I could grasp onto it, it faded again.
"I...I..." I couldn't say it, looking into Luke's hopeful grey eyes, "I'm sorry..." I said, lowering my head in shame, but not before I saw his face drop in disappointment, and...pain?
Were we really that close before?
"It's okay." Luke said, his face sad, but then he brightened, "I'll forgive you if you give me a hug."
Blushing, I went forward and hugged him.
The smell of summer, warm and breezy, filled my nostrils. I could feel myself sinking further into his embrace, hugging him tighter. At that moment, I really didn't want to leave.
Suddenly, I heard stop footsteps come and whispering. Struggling out of his arms, I saw Shunn whispering into Dan's ear, and Dan's face getting darker.
When he was done, Shunn looked at me and Luke, then grinned.
"Sorry, am I interrupting something?"
I looked and Luke and saw Luke glaring at him, saying with his eyes so clearly, 'you-obviously-are.'
"My bad." Shunn's smile just grew wider and Luke's glare turned colder.
I laughed to break the tension.
"Let's go eat! Eat, eat...that's right! It's nearly noon! Let's go!" I cried happily, pushing them forward.
Shunn and Luke looked at me weirdly. Then, glancing at their watches, they said at the exact same moment, "It's 10:00."
Then they proceeded to glare at eachother.
Dan just stood to the side, watching the show.
"Brunch! Let's eat brunch!" I continued, dragging them forward now, one on each side.
If someone really didn't know, they would think those two had problems. One was always grinning and one was always glaring. I sighed. Such a weirdo pair of babies.
The brunch was definitely an awkward one, with me trying to find topics to talk about, Shunn continually talking, and Luke remaining silent the whole time.
Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore.
"I'm done." I said, ignoring both of them, focusing my eyes on Dan, and then quickly walked out of the room.
I don't think I could've put up with the silence much longer.
Jumping into bed in my room, I lay there for a while, just listening to the crickets chirp outside. Funny. It seemed to calm me, and without noticing, I had lain there already for half an hour.
Remembering the swim suit I found when I had fully searched the room, I pulled it out of the drawer. It was kind of revealing...I thought to myself, looking at it left and right. It would barely cover my bottom! And the top! It basically only covered half my breasts!
Probably Shunn's fault...but after searching for a few minutes, I didn't find another swimsuit, so I put it on, and grabbing a fluffy towel from the restroom, snuck out of my room.
When I opened the back door to the pool, it was totally silent. No one was there. So I laid my towel down on one of the lawn chairs and sat down on another. Laying down, I felt the sun warming up my body, but after 15 minutes, it started to get pretty hot, so I walked toward the pool, dipping my toes in.
Feeling the coolness, I decided to totally fall in instead.
It was comfortably cool, so after swimming to the middle of the pool, I sunk to the bottom, closing my eyes, just enjoying the water caress my skin.
Suddenly, I felt warm arms envelop me and then a warm chest press against my backside. Opening my eyes in shock, I accidentally let go of the air bubble I kept in my mouth, watching it rise to the surface. Then I struggled to the surface, sputtering.
"Shunn!" I twisted my neck around, seeing his grinning face. Laughing, he asked, "Miss me, babe?"
"As a matter of fact, no." I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
I tried pulling off his arms from around me, even though they really were warm and extremely comfortable...
No, I reminded myself.
Hitting his arm, I said indignantly, "Let go of me."
"No." he said, his arms wrapping tightly around me.
I could feel the his heat all throughout my body, so I dove under the water and swam away from him.
Suddenly, I felt my leg cramp up, and I gasped in pain.
Ow ow ow ow ow.
I waved my arms in the water, trying desperately to get to the surface.
Suddenly, the same pair of arms grabbed my waist and lifted me up against his chest again.
"Wanna try that again?" he asked, a slight smile on his face.
I shook my head no.
His hand reached down and began to massage my leg. I relaxed against him, knowing I really didn't have a choice. But hey. He was still hot. And I still loved his purple eyes. So I wasn't really in a bad position, so to speak.
His warm breath blew on my neck, and I could feel electricity coarsing through my body. I tried to keep my body as still as possible, when he whispered in my ear, "Mira, I know something that'll make you feel even better."
"What?" I turned around and whispered back, caught up in the mysterious glimmer in his eyes.
"Want me to show you?"
"Sure." I said before I could stop myself.
His hand suddenly disappeared off my leg and moved toward my belly, his lips on my earlobe. I then felt him lick a trail down my neck, pausing at my collarbone. His hand was on my breast now, hovering over it, but not touching.
Suddenly, he softly bit the sensitive skin at the nape of my neck and I arched, gasping, my breast pushing into his big warm hand. The way I felt seemed slightly familiar, but I didn't delve further into it. I only knew that I wanted something from Shunn, but what, I wasn't sure.
His fingers slid over my nipple and I felt a warm liquid pool within my thighs.
His hand left my breast, but before I could feel disappointment, I felt his hand slide between my legs, and quickly parting the thin fabric of swimsuit, he slid two fingers in. I gasped. It felt so good, yet I wanted more. I grinded against his fingers, asking for more. I slid back against him and suddenly felt something hard poking into my butt.
Oh no! His tumor was back! Shaken out of my state, I turned around, forcing his fingers to slide out of me.
I looked into his eyes. He just looked at me, his purple eyes focused on my face.
"Seriously..." I said, looking at him grimly, "You've got to check a doctor."
He looked at me curiously. I sighed. Did I really need to point it out to him that obviously?
I reached down and grabbed his tumor.
"Do you feel it?"
I heard a strangled gasp come out of his mouth, but ignoring him, I continued.
"You HAVE to see a doctor! Having a tumor this big isn't healthy, and you have to get it cut off really quickly. Or else it'll grow! And that wouldn't be good."
"Um...honey, could you let go?" Shunn covered his hand over mine and pulled it off his tumor, his face showing he was in pain.
"Promise me you'll see a doctor."
"I promise."
"Good." I smiled at him, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure appear from the doorway and freeze.
Looking over, I saw it was Luke. He looked at me, his eyes dark and misted over like he was in pain, and I felt my heart squeeze. I didn't know why, but I didn't want him to hurt at all.
Then I looked back at Shunn, who had somehow backed off to the side of the pool without me noticing.
And just like that, the three of us formed a miraculous triangle...
haha :) i'm done! :D Whoopee! This chapter was kinda awkward to write, wondering if the people who liked Luke were gonna throw stones at me the entire time *whistles awkwardly* but I promise, there'll be something with luke next time! ^_^ so yay! And sorry, I'll have to use this really really really awful blackmailing tactic and ask for a lot of votes or else all the comments on only this story will pressure me into working only on this one, and school starts in 2 days, so I really wanna work on the other ones too :/ So IM SO SORRY FOR THIS ITLL BE THE LAST TIME I BLACKMAIL YOU GUYS I PROMISE!!!!!
