Alex's POV:
Yesterday was quite a stressful day as Demetrius decided to be down my throat about Skylar.
Surely she didn't expect for me to agree to Skylar going to school, it was a preposterous idea. One she must get rid of.
However, something caught my attention yesterday.
As I was heading to my office to finalize some documents, I heard voices coming from Skylar's chamber.
One might call it eavesdropping but I prefer to call it.... getting information.
Hearing Skylar's speak like that to Taylor and Lucas about me got me thinking. I didn't listen to their conversation completely though since a maiden decided to talk to me about some issues in the palace. However, I wasn't paying much attention to her since I was in my whole world.
Sure Skylar isn't the same person but when she's 18 she will remember me and know exactly who I am to her.
As I was currently walking down the hallway, I was heading for Skylar's chamber. It was a new day, so I knew that Skylar would soon awaken to see the sun rise.
Since it was still early, the halls were empty so it made my trip quiet and calm. I didn't have to greet every maiden or servant that said hello to me.
As I approached Skylar's chamber, I only knocked one and enter, not waiting for permission.
As I walked into Skylar's room, I noticed that she was still asleep. I walked over to Sleeping Beauty and gently shook her shoulder.
Soon after, she slowly opened her eyes with a frown as she caught my eyes. Her expression was priceless since she looked like a lost puppy.
"Skylar." I simply said.
Sitting up straight, she bowed her head.
"My queen."
I soon found a smirk on my face. This was going to be good.

Skylar's POV:
I was awoken from my slumber and soon found the queen staring down at me.
I quick sat up and bowed my head after she called my name.
"My queen." I said still bowing.
"You may look up." Alexandra said.
"Alexandra if I may," I said as I was still searching for the right words.
How do I ask Alexandra why she's here without sounding rude.
"I can show you better than I can explain it." She said with a smirk.
"Alexandra did you just read my mind?" I asked.
"I could but when you speak with your mouth it's easier to hear you."
"What?" I asked not following her.
"You spoke out loud." She said chuckling as she turned around to head for my door.
"My queen." I said.
Looking over her shoulders she opened her mouth to speak.
"Follow me." She simply said.
Getting up from my bed I quickly followed her, however, I made sure to leave a bit of distances between us.
I had yet to know where we were going but the farther we went, the high up we got. Every staircase in the palace lead to another level and before I realized it, we were at the top of the palace. There were two stair case; one that led to the roof and one that led to a place similar to an attic since items were stored up there. We ended up going to the place that resembled an attic. I had yet to question why we were here but I didn't want to ask, fearing it might upset her.
"You see that window over there." Alex said pointing to a circular one, whom design was long but faded away.
"Yes." I responded.
Walking over to the window, she had to go in-between boxes and other items to get to it, however, once she got there, she opened it.
"When I was a young child, I used to come up here to sit out on the roof. Do you wish to see the view? It's quiet beautiful. "
Nodding my head I realized I had to respond with words since it was rude to simply show gestures when addressing the queen.
"If I may, of course."
A small smiled appeared on her face while she waved me over. Walking the same way Alexandra went through, I was soon behind her.
Looking around, Alexandra found a box and kicked it over. She placed it under the window and stood on it. Once she was balanced on the box, she placed her hands on the window seal and quickly jumped up. Holding herself up, she than slowly went through the window.
Swallowing hard, I decided to just do what Alexandra did.
At first it was hard to pull myself up but Alexandra helped by grabbing me by my waist and pulling me up.
In one quick motion I was through the window and actually standing on the roof.
"Wow." I said but not because of the view.
"I know right." Alexandra said as she looked out.
Looking out at the view, I realized that it was also really breathtaking.
"You know what the best part of this was for me?" Alexandra said as she continued to look at the view.
"What my queen?" I said stepping closer to her.
Looking over at me, she smirk as she stepped closer to the edge of the roof.
Without realizing it, I ended up following her and before I knew it, I too was near the edge.
"Like I said, I can show you better than I can explain it."
Looking at her with a confuse face, I waited for her to show me.
"Then may you show me?" I asked after a couple of seconds of silence.
"If you insisted." She said.
Wrapping her arms around my waist she leaned backwards and over the edge.
My eyes opened up widely as I was positioned looking downwards.
"What the!" I said out loud.
I soon heard Alexandra chuckling.
Closing my eyes I prepared for impact, however, it never came.
As I slowly opened my eyes again, I was surprise to see that I was on the roof once more.
"What the?" I thought to myself.
Looking at Alexandra, I noticed she was about to speak.
"If you insist." She said again.
Opening my eyes widely, I was about to protest when she grabbed my waist again and leaned backwards.
I was once again reliving my nightmare, yet when I opened my eyes this time, I saw something different.
Gasping I looked at Alexandra's wonderful wings. They were rather large and were black with frost tips of purple; the same shade as her eyes.
They were beyond gorgeous.
As she repositioned herself, she slowed down her speed and we were hovering a few inches off the ground. Slowly lowering herself, we soon touched the ground.
Once we touched the ground she let go of me and brought her wings into her back.
"Hmm, just what I thought." Alexandra said.
"What?" I asked still trying to catch my breath.
"You aren't ready to go to Earth."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Sighing Alexandra got up before walking and gesturing for me to follow. As we walked, she spoked up again.
"When I was younger, my father did that exact same thing to me."
Looking at her, I waited for her to elaborate on what she was saying.
"I was no older than 12, when my father started to speak of passing down the throne to me. He knew I wasn't ready though so he decided to train me without me knowing."
Nodding my head to show her I was listening, I waited as she continued to walk.
She seemed to be heading for the garden.
"He took me to the top of the palace and did exactly what I did to you. He give me a glimpse of the future and with that I had to quickly respond, however, I was to scared to. So I did what you did."
As we finally got to the garden she walked over to a bench.
The garden was full of different flowers and had a marble fountain. The grass was recently cut as the smell was still lingering in the air. The trees branches hung up high and the wind was starting to pick up.
As I admired the garden, I continued to walk as I approached Alexandra.
She patted the space next to her gesturing me to sit, so, I did.
Looking at her, I spoked up.
"So what did you do that I also did?" I asked.
"You didn't open your wings." She said.
Thinking back to it, I realized she was right, I didn't opened my wings even after I knew what was going to happen.
"You're right my queen, I didn't." I said looking down.
Feeling a squeeze on my shoulder, I looked up.
"Don't worry, I didn't either." She said with a smile.
She chuckled lightly causing me to giggle as well.
After she finish chuckling, she looked straight forward.
"I heard that you wish to roam Earth." She said seriously.
Swallowing, I decided to chose my words carefully.
"Yes I do, but only if I have your blessing. I do not wish to roam the Earth ground if it means I am without the favor of the Heaven's queen."
She nodded her head and sighed.
"How about we do something Skylar." she said quietly.
"And what might that something be?" I asked.
"I won't sent a wounded bird into the sky and expect him to fly. No, that will be against my intellectual knowledge in knowing that he won't survive." She simply said.
Trying to follow, I waited for her to continue.
Sighing again she continued to speak.
"What I'm saying is, you're knowledge of Earth is but stories and tall tales of what you heard when you were a child. I can't and won't sent you there."
Feeling my hope slowly decrease, I looked down.
"I understand my queen." I said sadly.
"However." She said causing me to look up.
"I will send you when you get the training you need." she said still looking forward.
"Really?!" I exclaimed jumping up from the bench.
I started to do my happy dance, however, remembering I was in the present of the queen, I quickly composed myself. I slowly took my sit on the bench.
"I will sent you but you need training." She said.
"Okay when?" I quickly asked.
"Well you had your first lesson today which you failed, by the way, and tomorrow you will get another one and so forward." She said, finally looking at me.
"Does that mean you will be training me?" I asked.
Nodding her head, she then looked forward again.
"Thank you my queen, how can I ever repay you?"
Chuckling she spoke up.
"You can start by not calling me queen anymore." She said.
"Okay then... Alexandra." I said.
"And don't call me Alexandra either, I don't like the sound of it." She said.
"Then what might I call you?" I asked.
"Call me Alex."
"Okay, Alex." I said finding myself smiling. Even though I never said the name Alex before it felt familiar, but I didn't know why so I simply brushed it off.
Looking at Alex once more I couldn't help but to wonder why she was actually helping me. Maybe I was wrong about her after all. I guess I just had to expect the unexpected when it came to her.
After the conversation settle into silence, I started waiting for the sun to rise.
After a few minutes of hearing the wind blow by, I could feel the sun's heat on my shoulders causing me to turn my head in the direction of Alex.
As the sun was rising, Alex turned her head to look at it too. Staring at it for a bit she then turned to look at me. I was staring at the sky to see the colors that the sun caused but out of the corner of one of my eyes I took a peek at Alex. Looking at her I felt my breath caught in my throat. As the sun started to rise and the wind continued to blow I couldn't help but to look at Alex.
Looking at her like this got me to actually look at her appearance. Her black hair with purple highlights was being blown by the wind and her purple eyes were so bright I could see the black in them. She was absolutely gorgeous.
She give me a smile and then turned back to look at the sun rising.
Breathing again, I felt my heart skip a beat, something that never happened before since angel's heart don't beat.
A frown appeared on my face and I couldn't focus on the sun setting itself high up in the sky.
Thinking to myself what just happen, I decide to brush it off.
I guess I just had to expect the unexpected feeling when it came to Alex as well. Nothing was set in stone just like Alex so I knew I had to be careful since I didn't want to make her regret allowing me to go to Earth.
