I walked into the house, slipping off my shoes. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend full of popcorn bags and movies.
After grabbing a water from walking around outside, I looked around to see who was in the house. Most of them were out at some barbecue a few minutes down the road. I decided to stay and have some time to myself.
I found Jared in the game room, playing a game of pool with Brittney. My cousins were basically best friends with each other.
"Hey, (Y/N)," he said. I smiled, watching him barely miss a near-perfect shot.
"Hi," I replied, leaning against the wall.
"Niall is in the bathroom," she said. I tensed up immediately. They told me he talked about liking me all the time. I liked him too, but I had never told anyone that. I didn't want Jared making fun of me since Niall was his best friend.
"He likes you," Jared teased. I rolled my eyes, pretending to be annoyed.
"Whatever," I scoffed. I heard the bathroom door shut and froze.
"(Y/N)!" he exclaimed. I turned to meet his gaze. I hadn't seen him in a few months, but puberty worked its magic, and I liked every bit of. He was so attractive. He smirked as he crossed the threshold. He was always at my cousin's house when I came over. It was like he was part of the family even thought he wasn't.
"Hey," I smiled warmly, walking towards him for a hug. He brought me in and squeezed me so hard I squealed, laughing quickly afterwards. He laughed along with me as well, and I felt my cheeks start to hurt from smiling when he still didn't let me go.
"How have you been?" he wondered, hesitantly releasing me. I inhaled.
"Good," I answered. He nodded.
"Me too," he sighed, not losing eye contact.
"Do you two need some privacy?" Jared interrupted. I turned to glare at him, but stole the opportunity.
"Well, yeah. I mean, I've got the whole night planned out. We'll catch up, eat a whole bunch of food, and then snog in the bathroom like we did last year," I explained, laughing to myself at the shear stupidity I possessed. I blushed fiercely but didn't break character.
They looked horrified, and I turned to Niall. Something had really come over me then because I leaned over and kissed him right on the lips. He was surprised, but didn't pull away.
I felt adrenaline race through me, letting go.
"Like that," I said, bowing slightly and exited the room in triumph.
