"Rey..Rey wake up.." A voice says to me.
"Leave me alone.." I say pushing the hand away that shakes me awake.
"Wake up!.." I finally roll on my side and open my eyes to my 19 year old brother Danny.
"You gotta get ready for school.."
"Alright..I'm getting up.." I say sitting up and rub my eyes until they burn.
Me and Danny had moved to Tulsa last year.
Our mom died from an illness and our dad was a complete maniac, who always put his girlfriends before his own kids.
So when Danny saved up enough money he moved himself and I up; further north.
It wasn't far from home but far enough that we could get away from everyone.
Soon after, Danny graduated high school and became a mechanic.
Danny never gave up on things and always saw some sort of good in people.
And that's why I think I admire him.
Danny isn't just my older brother. He's my hero and my best friend.
I love him with all my heart and even more than that.
Danny was the dad I never had and always took care of me when I was little.
Practically raised me, after our mom passed away.
He made sure I went to school, did my homework and stayed out of trouble.
I loved Danny more than words could ever explain.
I wanted to make him proud.
I promised myself that I'd repay him for all he's done.
That, when I get a nice job, I'd buy him a fancy house and a nice car.
The things that all kids wanna do for their parents.
"Hurry up! Or your gonna be late.." Danny yells from the kitchen.
"I'm going!" I yell back and hurry and get dressed.

"Pssst!" I say under my breathe, while throwing paper wades to my best friend Jenny.
She finally turns around and scolds me.
"What..?" She half whispers,
I raise my eyebrows to her and then stare at Jim Weekly.
Jenny had a major crush on him since grade school, but was to shy to ever talk to him.
She blushes and glares at me.
I crack up in my seat, holding my stomach because it starts to cramp up.
"Miss. Wronkie..is something funny..?"
Mrs. Joy asks from her desk.
I clear my throat and say, "No ma'am.."
My cheeks begin to flush and I sit a bit straighter and get back to work.

At lunch, me and my friends gossip about couples in school.
I was quite popular.
I didn't necessary hang out with the top dogs but everyone knew who I was and pretty much everyone was my friend.
"Yeah did you hear about Bob Sheldon..?
He was caught makin out with another girl from Jimberry High, and Cherry broke up with him.."
Leanne says causing our whole table to start bursting out into conversation.
I tend to not listen and just stare out the window.
Outside was one of my favorite places to be.
You could roam freely never meeting a stopping point.
"Rey! Rey!" Leanne yells at me.
"Huh..?" I turn around snapping out of my daze.
"She was doing it again." Susan says hopelessly.
"Like I was saying..looks like you got an admirer.."
Leanne says moving her eyes to a table full of jocks.
Little Rudy, as everyone called him.
Had asked me out every single month, and still wouldn't leave me alone after I rejected him several times.
I just turned the other way ignoring him.
"I don't see why you don't like him..he's so hot.."
Leanne says looking at him as though he was a God.
"Then maybe you should go out with him.." I say nonchalantly.
She gets annoyed and says, "Fine! I will.." and continues drinking her coke.

"How was school..?"
Danny asks as I throw my books on the kitchen table and plop down onto the couch.
"Same old, Same old.." I say turning on the tv.
"Will you run to the store and go get some milk for breakfast tomorrow..?"
He says, while looking at bills.
"Yeah sure..can I take the truck..?"
I say standing up and causally take the keys.
"Alright...But no drag racing.."
I grin and head out the door.

After the grocery store, I head to the music store.
I check out all the latest tracks of 1967.
I pick up one Elvis Presley cassette and read all the songs on the back.
"That's a good one.."
I look up and see a tall, lean muscular boy that looked about 16-17 say while looking at other cassettes.
"Last one I bought I wasn't too impressed.."
I smile with amusement and try to make conversation.
"Aye..all Presley music is rockin man.."
He says staring up at me and smirks.
I grin and look down searching through the rest of the new tracks.
"You like The Beatles..?"
I say not looking up.
"Nah..Elvis is tough..Beatles..are more for..sissys.."
He says chuckling.
I laugh and he comes around to my side.
He gets real close behind me and reaches his arms out by my sides.
It makes my cheeks all warm and I take a deep gulp.
He searches through the stack and pulls out one of the cassettes.
"This one..is the best one.." He says handing it too me.
I read the label and nod.
"What's your name..?" He says turning to me and leans against the shelf.
"Rey. Rey Wronkie." I say looking back up at him and finally realize how handsome he was.
"I'm Dallas Winston." He says sticking out his hand, but I stand there admiring his unique features that somehow all went together perfectly.
"Alright..."
He says putting his hand down.
"Distracted by my looks ehh.."
He says winking at me and then just laughs.
I start to blush and turn away.
"It's alright babe. I was about to ask you, how about we go get a drink sometime. But you didn't look the type, So I took it easy.."
He grins at me and stares right into my eyes with out hesitation.
"But what if I had said yes..?" I say deciding to play his game.
"Then I'd be one lucky guy."
His lips curl into a smirk and it matched his whole look and personality.
I blush even more and we stand there staring at each other for a bit.
"Can't keep your eyes off me.." He says chuckling.
"Neither can you.." I say crossing my arms.
He laughs and says,
"How about next time when we see each other, will get that drink." He winks at me and I can't help but blush.
I guess that's fine." I say with a sly smile.
"Alright.." He tells me and makes his eyes gleam at me and heads out of the store.
