YOUR FIRST "I LOVE YOU"
s.coups/choi seungcheol
You two were sitting on the couch, his arm around you. It had been a very long day for the both of you,and this was the first time you had seen each other all day.
He pressed his lips to your hair, murmuring something under his breath.
"I didn't catch that," you murmured back.
You looked up to see him with a half smile on his face, blushing profusely.
"I said I love you... I love that you're here for me when I need you, I love that I can relax around you... I love you."
You smiled, settling your head back against his shoulder. "I love you too, Choi Seungcheol."
yoon jeonghan
Jeonghan emerged from the building, ruffling his newly-dyed hair with a somewhat rueful expression.
You stared, jaw dropped in wonderment.
He chuckled as he reached you, twining his fingers around yours. "I know, it's different... like it? What do you think, am I just as pretty with this hair colour?"
You smiled, squeezing his hand. "They say true love is having a crush on him after he got a haircut... guess this is true love, then," you said.
He stared at you, eyes widening and mouth opening slightly in surprise. "You... you..."
You smiled cheekily at him. "I love you, Jeonghan."
joshua jisoo hong
You hissed as you tested your ankle.
"Well, it isn't swelling... yet..." Joshua said, kneeling down to get a better look. "I told you you shouldn't have tried to do that choreo."
"Yeah, shut up," you griped, followed by a sharp yelp as Joshua prodded your ankle experimentally.
"We really ought to get this checked out," he mused. "You okay?"
You forced a smile. "Yeah, I just have a possibly broken ankle to deal with here. I'm great."
Joshua grinned crookedly at you. "I love you, you know that?"
He helped you up before you could answer, slinging your arm around his shoulders. "Let's go. Can't let that ankle get any worse."
jun/wen junhui
Jun yelped angrily at you, jerking his swollen hand away. "Ow!"
You stared, deadpan, ace bandage in one hand, and the other on your hip. "Wen Junhui, if you think I'm going to let you try anything else without wrapping that wrist, you've got another thing coming. You may be a member of the performance unit, but you aren't dancing like that."
He sighed, extending his hand again. "Just try not to move it too much," he whispered. "It hurts me."
You smiled as you began wrapping his wrist. "I won't," you promised. "How could I possibly hurt the idiot I love?"
hoshi/kwon soonyoung
"Oh. My. G—"
"Now, now, Soonyoung, what would Vernon say?" you reprimanded, glaring playfully. "To say nothing of Joshua, good grief."
"Why are you upside down? And are you covered in silly string — is that glitter?"
You shrugged as best you could, swinging gently. "Call it a prank gone wrong? I was trying to get Seungkwan back for the hair dye in my shampoo."
A grin spread across Hoshi's face. "I always wanted to do a Spider-Man kiss," he noted, stepping forward and cupping your face in his hands.
"Go on, then," you muttered, trying to stop your swinging. "You're lucky I love you."
"Love you too," he whispered before kissing you gently.
He jumped back as soon as your lips separated, pointing at you. "Wait a second!" he shouted. "I said it — you said it? We said I love you! Yes!"
He ran out of the room screaming and jumping, leaving you still swaying with your face turning purple... but with a huge smile on your face.
jeon wonwoo
You shrieked as your character died for the twelfth time in seven minutes. "Jeon Wonwoo, I will actually murder you!" you screamed.
He chuckled softly, not diverting his attention from the screen. "I'm so glad to hear it," he murmured. "I always wanted to go out with a bang."
Pouting at his lack of reaction, you set your mind to coming up with a strategy to tip the scales in your favour for the next round. The perfect idea came to mind as he selected the stage, and an evil grin grew on your face.
"You know I'm kidding, right?" you asked innocently.
"Of course," he murmured.
"I mean... I couldn't really kill you. I love you."
Wonwoo's grip tightened on the controller, the contraction of his thumb sending his character off the edge.
"Ha, I win," you gloated, thoroughly beating his character to pieces. "(Y/n) one, Wonwoo... twelve. Jeez."
The controller was yanked from your hands, and you looked up in shock to see Wonwoo leaning over you, a small frown on his face. "Do you mean it?" he asked.
You licked your lips nervously. "Um. Yes."
His frown dissolved into a grin, and he pulled you up, spinning you around. "I love you too," he whispered, pulling you into a tight hug. "I was just afraid you didn't feel the same way."
woozi/lee jihoon
You stood outside Woozi's studio, biting your lip. He's been in there for two days, you reasoned with yourself. You need to get him out.
That in mind, you cracked the door open and were immediately greeted with a pillow to the face, followed by a holler of pure squishy marshmallow rage.
"Get out of my studio before I snap your neck — (Y/n)?"
You pushed the pillow aside with your foot, grinning. "Hey, Woozi. Long time no see."
He gave you a quizzical look between his fingers, pausing in the middle of dragging his hand over his face. "What do you mean? It hasn't been that long."
You plopped down on the floor so you could look up at your boyfriend. "It's been two solid days, Jihoon." You grasped the pillow, hugging it close. "I miss you... and I'm worried. You need to eat and sleep."
Woozi processed this for a good minute. "Oh," he said simply, turning back to his computer. "Well, I'm very busy, so —"
You spun his chair around, leaning over him. "Lee Jihoon, get yourself out of that chair right now, come eat some food, and get some rest," you ordered. For some reason tears were gathering in your eyes as you spoke, blurring Woozi's face. "I won't sit by and watch the man I love work himself to death —"
Woozi reached up, putting a hand over your mouth. "Hang on — I'll let you finish in a minute — but did you say you love me?"
You blinked tears away. "So what?"
He smiled, reaching over to turn his screen off and moving your hands away so he could stand. "Okay, (Y/n). Let's get food... I can't disappoint the girl I love."
dokyeom/lee seokmin
You yawned, propping your chin on your fist.
On the other side of the laptop screen, Seokmin frowned concernedly. "Shouldn't you be in bed, jagiya? It's like, two a.m over there."
You smiled sleepily. "Nah... I haven't talked to you in a week, Seokmin... and I've got something important to tell you."
He poked the screen, smiling at you. "Ah, okay. Go ahead, I'm listening."
You took a deep breath before starting. "So, I know that this is hard... you being on tour, me over here..."
"Jagiya, if you break up with me, I'm going to be sad for like, five years," Seokmin warned.
You shook your head, grinning. "No, nothing like that, babe. I just wanted to let you know..." You hesitated for a brief second. "I love you, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this work, okay?"
Wide-eyed, Seokmin pointed lamely at you for a few seconds before actually fainting.
A few seconds later, Dino's face appeared on the screen, beaming. "Seokmin-hyung loves you too," he informed you. "And he says get some sleep."
kim mingyu
Would you believe this sap confessed on Valentine's Day? Well, he did.
Jun's number flashed on your screen, along with the incredibly dumb picture he'd set as his contact photo. When you answered it, he didn't even give you time to speak.
"(Y/n) (Y/n) (Y/n) you've got to come see what Mingyu's doing for you he's almost finished it's the cutest and stupidest thing in the world —"
"Breathe, Jun," you laughed. "What's going on?"
"Just come over here and see!" Jun shouted.
"Okay, okay," you chuckled. "I'll be there in five, okay?"
You heard him muttering in Chinese under his breath, but he didn't protest.
When you got to the dorms, you found Jun waiting, scanning for you. He was bouncing up and down, apparently more excited than you were. He started babbling excitedly as soon as he saw you, half in Chinese, three-eighths in Korean, and about an eighth in English — totally incomprehensible, basically. He tugged you into the building, his babbling growing in volume.
Rose petals were scattered on the floor, making a path.
"It's for you, go go go goooo~!" Jun shouted, shoving you forward.
At the end of the (absurdly long) trail of petals, you found Mingyu waiting, holding a huge bouquet of about thirty roses, plus a giant heart-shaped box. He smiled so big when he saw you, and glanced to the side with a tiny nod.
In the corner, Wonwoo pulled a cord, Hoshi flipped a switch, and Jeonghan pressed a button before chivvying the other two boys out, tossing you a wink as he closed the door.
Soft violin music filled the air, the lights dimmed (replaced by a string of fairy lights around the edges of the room), and a banner unrolled.
"I love you, (Y/n)~"
You couldn't help but laugh as you pulled a box out of your pocket. "Screw you, Kim Mingyu, you made the tiny present I bought you look completely stupid!"
He smiled as you exchanged gifts, kissing your forehead gently. "I love it, because it's from you. I love you."
"Love you too, you gigantic dork," you laughed, standing on tiptoe to kiss him.
the8/xu minghao
You knew something was up when Minghao showed up at your door carrying a very large box and wearing the biggest smile you had ever seen.
He wouldn't let you open the box, though — in fact, he chased you out of your own apartment while he did his thing with the box.
When he finally let you back in, he was crouching next to the cutest puppy you had ever seen and there was a little baby kitten too!!! They were basically just fluff balls and!!!
You screamed.
"Whoa, (Y/n), don't scare them!" Minghao scolded you, scooping up the puppy. "I, uh, I didn't know if you liked cats or dogs better so I got you both... and they've got dishes and food and all..." He gestured to a pile of stuff in the corner. "But, um, pup has a special message for you right here."
He handed you the puppy, who immediately starred licking your face happily.
"Aw, come on, little guy, let's see what we have here," you cooed, pulling a folded piece of paper from his collar.
There was a note, in Minghao's handwriting — a little shaky, and there were some cross-outs and words hastily inserted, but super cute anyway.
Dear (Y/n) ~
Wow, I like the sound of that. Anyway, I wanted to get you these adorable little things (the puppy's a labradoodle) because... well... I guess I should tell you myself, but I'm a bit scared.
I love you.
– Your Minghao
You grinned, scooching over and ruffling Minghao's hair (he squeaked in protest). "I love you too, dorkus."
boo seungkwan
Did someone say drama queen? Let's face it, Seungkwan would make that first "I love you" with nothing less than a full serenade-from-under-your-window, cheesy-love-song and dramatic confession in the middle of the night.
It was Saturday night — which meant, lucky you, no school/work/anything the next morning.
Then you heard the piano, and then the singing.
"Niga bogo sipeoseo..."
You opened your window and saw Seungkwan standing outside, holding a CD player and singing loudly, grinning at you.
"Say yes..."
You smiled back as he sang, bobbing your head to the music.
"Oh, neomu yeppeoseo, neomu neomu gowaseo, buseojil geot gatadeon, geu chueokdeureul ganjikhago itdamyeon... You say, you say, geudaewa naega hamkke bureugon haetdeon i norae, honjain bamimyeon I stay... Saranghae, saranghae..."
The point of the serenade hit you, and you blushed furiously, covering your mouth with your hand and smiling down at him.
"Malhaejwo naege just stay... Geudaeyeo say yes? Can you say, can you say naui modeun bichi dwae jun neol? Can you say bonael suga eobneun nande?"
"Geudaeyeo say, geudaeyeo say, saranghae, say yes... yes, say yes... oh..."
He set the CD player down, waving his arms happily. "I love you!" he shouted. "I love you, I love you, I love you!"
You grinned, lowering your hand. "I love you too, Seungkwan!" you shouted back. "Get yourself up here!"
vernon/hansol vernon chwe
Vernon's hand was on your waist, slightly timid, adjusting every so often.
"Vernon, it's literally just a waltz," you whispered, smiling at him.
"Yes, but I don't waltz," he whispered back, casting an angry glance at Hoshi. "I am a member of a boy group, my job is fancy footwork and – and – like, hip thrusts!"
"Yes, but you are also a very cute and talented boy," you retorted. "And I will not let my exceedingly handsome boyfriend live to the age of 21 without knowing how to waltz, it's embarrassing."
Vernon grunted, giving Hoshi another glare.
"Why are you so mad at Hoshi, anyway?" you asked, leading him through a simple twirl move. "It's not like he did anything except demonstrate how you, as a boy, should waltz."
"Yeah, but he was looking at you funny," Vernon grumbled. "Like — I don't know, sexy stare and all that."
"Babe, he wasn't giving me any kind of sexy look," you laughed. "It's okay."
Vernon sighed, resting his forehead on yours. "Sorry," he whispered. "I just get protective 'cause I love you."
You smiled, lifting your chin just enough to peck his lips. "I love you too, Hansol Vernon Chwe."
dino/lee chan
It was a rainy Monday afternoon in the Seventeen dorms, and it was almost completely silent for once... Due only to the fact that Chan had a cold and the others were at practice.
You were in the kitchen, heating up water, into which you planned to stir generous amounts of honey and a squirt of lemon juice.
"For the last time, Mingyu, I'm not putting scotch in this," you grumbled at your phone as you stirred the concoction.
"Hey, it's proven to help with sore throat," Mingyu defended through the speakers.
"Chan isn't yet 21, idiot," you scolded him. "I don't care about the differences in drinking age, I'd like him to have a fully developed brain before he poisons himself with alcohol, thank you."
You reached over and hung up. "Bye, Mingyu! Have fun at practice!"
Chan was basically a pile of blankets with a face at this point, and you couldn't help but giggle as you set the mug down. "Hey, baby boy," you cooed, smoothing his hair. "I brought you something."
He lifted his head slightly, freeing his arms and pushing himself to a sitting position. "Thanks," he croaked, and you winced at the hoarseness of his voice.
He buried his nose in the mug, eyes closing in a contented smile. He murmured something into the drink before lowering it, going into a coughing fit, and forcing you to rescue the hot water.
"What'd you say, Chan?" you asked, setting the cup down and kneeling to his level.
He smiled, reaching up and pausing with his hand a centimetre from your face. You could feel the heat from his fever coming off his skin, and carefully held his shaking hand to lower it.
"I..." He coughed again, covering his mouth with his elbow. "Love you." He gave you a weak smile before dissolving into another coughing fit.
You smiled back, helping him drink from the mug. "I love you too, Chan... Now drink this, it'll help with your cough."
He closed his eyes, gently moving your head to rest on his shoulder. "What would I do without you?"
