The sound of my name being called pulled me out from my day dream. The moment Daniel had left yesterday I had been left alone and my mind had wandered towards Zane and I couldn't seem to escape, not until I heard my name. I blinked my eyes several times to bring me out of the daze I was in; it took my eyes a while to focus.

Daniel stood in front of me. His black hair was sticking out in all angles and his black eyes looked slightly crazed, all of this mixed together made him appear as if he was mad. I was aware of him shaking my shoulder as he tried to get my attention.

"What is it?" I demanded.

Daniel let out a deep breath as I finally responded to him. He dropped his arms from my shoulders and did his best to compose himself.

"Lucifer is here," Daniel whispered.

My new wings battered against the inside of my back as they struggled to break free, they knew what his name meant.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes," Daniel replied. "He attacked the twins last night."

"Are they okay?"

"They're fine but extremely pissed off."

"I wouldn't blame them. So, what else do you know about Lucifer?"

Daniel opened his mouth to reply when the sound of the front door to his apartment was flung open. A shiver passed over my spine as the temperature began to drop, Lucifer was here and he was angry. Daniel helped me to my feet and led me towards the kitchen window.

"Where are we going?" I asked in a hushed tone.

"There's a ledge that runs towards the fire escape," Daniel whispered back. "If we can get there quickly we might just be able to lose Lucifer."

Daniel opened the window and gestured for me to go first. I took a deep breath before climbing up onto the counter and slipping silently out of the window. Daniel kept a firm grip on my waist as I carefully placed my feet on the thin edge. I slowly stepped to the side and waited until Daniel was beside me before I moved any further.

My heart pounded in my chest as we carefully made our way towards the safety of the fire escape. I knew that if we were to fall we could set out wings free and fly away but receiving my new powers made me agile and I was able to keep myself balance as I moved across the ledge.

Daniel helped me step onto the fire escape and I made sure that he got down alright. He took the lead and I followed him down the slippery, metal stairway. It didn't take us long to reach the bottom and we were off running as fast as we could away from the apartment.

"We have to get word to the others," I said as we ran.

"Rachel and Ally already know about last night's attack," Daniel explained. "Besides they should be able to sense that Lucifer is in town."

We continued to run until we reached the beach that was oddly deserted. It was the middle of summer so it should have been swarming with locals as well as tourists; it was also a warm day so I didn't understand why no one was here.

"Where is everyone?" I asked Daniel while edging closer to him. "It's strange for humans to not be here."

I looked up to see that Daniel was eyeing the area with caution, he didn't trust the emptiness.

"I don't know Riley," he replied. "But I've got an eerie feeling."

Now that he had pointed it out I couldn't help but notice I felt the same way. I placed a hand on my stomach as I scanned the area to see if there were any signs of human activity.

"I feel the same way," I said.

The sound of a demon's scream brought me into full alertness. I grabbed Daniel's hand and lead him away from the beach and towards the inner city, I was hoping that we could get lost in a crowd but the closer we got to the city I realized how deserted the place was, it was almost like an apocalypse.

"Riley!" a familiar voice shouted.

I looked around until my eyes landed on Joey and Ella. I let go of Daniel's hand and sprinted towards the only signs of life I have found since we left Daniel's apartment.

"Joey! Ella!" I called to them.

Ella started sprinting towards me while Joey spoke into a walkie-talkie. I wrapped the fragile girl in my arms as we waited patiently for her brother to come and join us.

"Is she okay?" Daniel asked.

I looked up to see a look of concern cross his features and a mixture of something else . . . the look was so familiar and I've seen it on Zane's face when he looks at me. I raised an eyebrow at Daniel and he looked away from me, giving me evidence of how he felt towards Ella.

"Yes she's fine," I replied.

Joey walked towards us with a look of relief on his face. "Thank God we found you! Everyone is looking for you but they're on their way."

"Why has everyone been looking for me?" I asked.

"Lucifer's here," Joey replied.

"We know he came for us at my apartment," Daniel stated.

Within a couple of seconds Rachel, Ally, Liam and Chris appeared. I let go of Ella and sprinted over to the others to see if they were okay. None of them appeared to have any injuries and that made me feel better about the whole situation.

"Where are the twins?" I asked.

"They should be here any moment," Joey replied. "They were a couple of blocks away when I called them to tell them that we had found you."

As if on cue, the twisted twins appeared with a look of shock on their faces.

"What's wrong?" Liam asked.

"Our father is coming," Hannah replied.

"And he has his army with him," Steph added.

"Is Zane with them?" I asked.

The twins shook their head and I felt slightly relieved knowing that Zane wouldn't be involved with the battle that we were about to enter.

"Okay, has everyone got their guns with rock salt?" Hannah asked. Liam, Joey, Chris and Ella pulled out small guns from the holders. "Now remember, rock salt repels spirits only it doesn't kill them. It may affect a demon but I doubt those would come after you when there are supernatural beings around."

The group pulled out other weapons that looked as if they grabbed them from their garden shed and the kitchen. Besides the guns they were armed with crowbars, knives with thick blades and other crude weapons that looked as if they came from the twins.

Daniel set his wings free and I noticed that he stayed in the same clothes that he had on. I prayed that the same thing would happen to me as I set mine free and thankfully I stayed in my own clothes, I don't think I would have been able to fight in a dress.

A demonic scream pierced the silent street as demons and spirits drifted down the street. I started sprinting towards the group in an attempt to show them that I wasn't backing off or going down without a fight. A demon lunged itself towards me, I wasn't sure how to handle it but my body reacted to the fight. A bright light illuminated from my hands and the demon burst into flames. Its brethren were coming towards me but they stopped when they saw what I did to their comrade.

I heard a gunshot behind me and I spun around to see that Ella had her gun pointed in the direction of a group of spirits that were coming for her. I took to the sky and dove for the ghosts that were advancing towards Ella. I could see no fear in the girl's eyes as she repelled the spirits. I helped her by finishing them off the same way I killed the demon. Ella shot me a grateful smile and I managed to return it as I killed another spirit.

The fight was getting heated as everyone played their parts. Daniel, Ally and myself killed the creatures that attacked us the same way but Rachel had her own technique. She would tease the demons that came for her, making herself appear weak but she would kill them when she got the chance. Liam, Joey, Ella and Chris fought the creatures that came at them with their crude weapons but they couldn't kill them, this gave us extra work but I didn't mind. I was getting the chance to seriously destroy Lucifer's minions. The twins used their torture techniques on the demons and spirits that came their way. The twins worked in unity and I couldn't help but feel awe as I watched them fight for us.

Slowly the demons and spirits numbers began to drop but so was our strength. Ella looked so exhausted as she tried to take a break. I was about to go over to her and help but Daniel swooped in and killed the whole group of ghosts that tried to harm her. Liam and Chris looked as if they hadn't fought this hard in the whole life, which may be true since they've never faced demons before. Joey, on the other hand, kept on fighting as if he had supernatural properties as well. I knew he fought this way because of both Zane and his sister, he knew the more he took out the less that Ella would have to face. The twins seemed at ease in combat. They focused on one creature at a time and they managed to kill each one before it could slip away.

Since the others were working fine by themselves I turned my attention to a group of demons heading my way. I flung myself into the middle of the group and used all of my strength to send them flying into nearby cars and the walls of the skyscrapers beside us. My wings were perfect for hitting the demons that crept up behind them; I knew when I hit one because I would feel my feathers move. As I continued to fight I thought that I was doing fine by myself until I felt the claws of a demon dig into my shoulder.

A scream tore its way out of my throat as I tried to pluck the demon off of my back but I couldn't. A demon in front of me lunged for my throat but a knife went through its neck before it could even get to me. I took the little reprieve to peel the demon from my back. I used the bright light from before to make the demon burst into flames before me.

After the demon was gone I turned to see who my saviour was. My eyes widened when I saw the boy with caramel hair and bright blue eyes standing beside me. Sam had come to help us and I automatically felt guilty for the way I had treated him, after all he has saved my life more than once.

"Thank you Sam," I said.

"You're welcome," Sam replied. "Just, don't be a bitch to me after this because it's something you do after I help you."

I blushed. "Yeah I know, sorry about that."

Sam smiled slightly at me just as the sound of Lucifer's voice filled the air.

"Enough!" Lucifer shouted.

Almost instantly, the demons and the spirits departed leaving us standing alone in the street. We quickly regrouped as Lucifer entered the street, all by himself. He grinned at us as he came to stand several metres from us; the smile disappeared when he saw his daughters and Sam standing beside us.

"I need to be more careful when it comes to the people I trust," Lucifer spat. "It started with Riley, then Daniel, my daughters and now you Sam."

"Trackers are neutral," Sam reminded him. "We don't choose a side."

"You have when it comes to them!" Lucifer shrieked. "You choose to be with them!"

Sam shrugged his shoulders as if Lucifer's outburst didn't bother him. "I didn't choose them; I'm just with them for the time being."

"And that time is limited," Lucifer stated. "Because I'm about to kill every single one of you!"

Lucifer pulled his dagger out and disappeared within a blink of an eye. A scream forced us to spin around to see Lucifer stabbing a knife into Ally's side.

"No!" I screamed.

I lunged myself at Lucifer and knocked him away from Ally, I just hope I wasn't too late. I pinned Lucifer's arms above his head while ripping the dagger away from him. Once he was pinned down completely I glanced over my shoulder to see that Rachel and Chris were taking Ally away, hopefully to heal her.

I looked back down at Lucifer to see a twisted grin on his face. It took all of my strength to not force him to burst into flames like so many of his demon friends but I needed him alive for the time being. He was the only one that knew where Zane was.

"Where is Zane?" I demanded.

"As if I'd tell you, sweetheart," Lucifer replied arrogantly.

I slammed my fist into his face with more strength than I really needed but it was so hard to contain myself when I was staring into the eyes of the man I hated the most.

"Tell me where he is!" I commanded.

"He doesn't even remember who you are," Lucifer spat.

I slammed my fist against his face for a second time and was rewarded with a trickle of blood coming from his nose. I grinned at him the moment I saw his distaste for me.

"We can do this all day Luce or you can tell me where I can find Zane," I pointed out.

"I'd rather lie here all day while that man you're so fond of kills himself and transfers all of his power over to me," Lucifer replied.

"Tell me where he is," I snapped.

"No," Lucifer replied simply.

A frustrated scream ripped out of my mouth as I plunged the dagger into Lucifer's chest, just missing his heart. Lucifer shoved me away from him with all the strength he could muster and he sent me flying into a nearby building. My friends rushed over to me but I was fine. I looked up at Daniel and just hoped that he would as I asked of him.

"Daniel, take Ella, Joey, Sam and Liam away from here," I instructed him.

"Why?" he asked.

"I want you all to search for Zane because he can't be too far away from here," I replied.

Daniel looked at me unwillingly but the look on my face was forceful enough to send him over to the others and take them away.

I rose to my feet to see that the twins were standing in front of me in protective sort of way. Their weapons were grasped tightly in their hands as they stalked closer to their father.

Lucifer has now gotten the dagger free from his chest and was ready for combat. I could see that he was slightly frazzled to see his daughters stalking towards him with their crude weapons in their hands.

"You wouldn't dare hurt me? Would you now?" Lucifer asked.

"We're tired of you telling us what do to," Hannah said.

"But I am your father," Lucifer reminded them.

"Big deal," Steph muttered.

The girls lunged themselves at Lucifer and started to attack him in the same way they had attacked me. But Lucifer fought back. He flicked his wrist with the dagger in his hand and slashed the blade against the twins' arms. Lucifer shoved the dagger into Hannah's stomach causing the girl to topple over.

Steph tried to help her sister but Lucifer was on her the second she let her guard down. I sprinted over to them and knocked Lucifer away from Steph. Seeing the girls look so vulnerable seemed to piss me right off and I knew that I couldn't let Lucifer push these girls around anymore.

Lucifer tried to grab me but I used my wing to knock him away from me as I helped Hannah to her feet. The girls appeared grateful as I planted myself in front of them with my wings spread out behind me in an attempt to intimidate Lucifer. It worked for a moment before he pulled himself together and made a move to attack me.

Steph reached out and grabbed her father before he could hurt me. She tossed him to the ground while shoving her lighter against his arm. Lucifer let out a painful scream as Steph continued to burn her father.

I concentrated on all the energy in my body and allowed it to flow to the tip of my fingers. I closed my eyes and let all the power shoot out towards Lucifer which caused him to scream out more. I opened my eyes to see that he was writhing on the ground.

"Finish him sister," Steph said.

Hannah looked at me uncertainty and I gestured for her to kill Lucifer. "He did stab you," I said.

Hannah smiled as she took Steph's sword. Lucifer watched his daughter with wide eyes as she stabbed the blade into his chest, hitting his heart. Lucifer stopped squirming and I looked down at him with a great feeling of satisfaction.

"Goodbye you son of a bitch," I murmured.

Hannah ripped the sword out of his chest and took a step back so that she was standing beside her sister

"That teaches him to not control us," Hannah said.

I looked up at the twins and smiled at them. Even though they may have been twisted and cruel but they helped me take down my greatest enemy and I would be forever thankful for that, I owed them both so much for their help.

"How can I repay you for your help?" I asked.

Hannah and Steph exchanged a glance.

"There is only one thing we want," Steph said.

"And what is that?" I asked.

"To be the rulers of the Underworld," Hannah replied.

"If you agree to not cause harm to those who don't deserve it then you've got yourself a deal," I said.

"So we can kill murderers and rapists?" Steph asked.

"Yep," I replied.

The twins stuck their hands out. "You've got yourself a deal."

I shook their hands. Now that the main problem was dealt with the desperation to find Zane kicked in. I was about to excuse myself from the twins when I heard a set of footsteps sprinting towards me, I spun around to see Daniel and Ella.

"We found Zane," Daniel said.
