As they were conversing in the Damus Flau Arena, a particular mage in the city smirked and chuckled.
"Oh, I guarantee this year will be something you'll never forget. This time, I'll be the one to get you, my queen."
Now~
Third Person POV
The day was filled with many great battles, the mages wandering around the great city of Crocus in order to win the Title of 'Number 1 Guild in all of Fiore' for the sake of pride and face, each and every one of them trying their very best.
While everything was happening, a certain Ice Mage was stepping into a fairly large library, where his next opponent was said to be in. Unbeknownst to him, his so called opponent was already expecting him as their leader had predicted him to come.
Walking through the hallways and into a large area, the Ice-Make Mage spots Rufus Lore, the Memory-Make Mage of Team Sabertooth. There, he glared at the masked man, the latter still reading a book that was in his hands.
"Oi! I've come to take back my victory." He called out, making the blond look up from his book but then look back down in disinterest.
"Who are you? I apparently do not remember meeting or encountering some like you before. Please do tell me who you are." He simply states, angering the Fairy Tail member as he clenches his fists in rage.
"You won't have to bother remembering me as I'll beat you straight away here." The Ice Mage stated, his feet sliding apart slightly to go into a battle stance, arms out as he gets into position to create his magic.
While he does that, the Blond Sabertooth Mage seems unimpressed as he just stand there with a straight posture, arms behind his back with a smirk etched on his lips, staring down at the Ravenette in front of him.
"Can Gray really beat him, First Master?" One of the Fairy Tail mages asked, everyone looking at their First master in question as she stares at the Lacrima Screen in front, eyes blank.
"I'm not sure. But Gray must win or else our plans in winning might not come true. Our points are already very far away from theirs." She stated out, making the Guild nervous as they look at the battle before them.
"Ice-Make: Freeze Lancer!" The Ice Mage chants, particles of magic forming as they create into ice and shoot towards his opponent, which they dodge and smirk.
"Memorised." He muttered out, both index and middle fingers touching the left side of his temple.
"Stop running away and fight! Ice-Make: Ice Impact!" The Ravenette yelled again, a large drill made of ice appearing as it hits the ground, breaking the drill into pieces as the Memory-Make Mage again dodges the attack.
"Memorised." He said again, his smirk never leaving his as he lands on the ground safely, not even breaking a single sweat as the feather on his hat dangles above his head.
"What are you muttering about 'Memorised'? Hurry and attack already!" The now frustrated mage questioned, stopping to regain some energy as the other chuckles.
"Well, memories are important to a person, no? So I memorise my opponent's attacks and they could be used as a weapon of my own. By using them, I can create new magic, just like your Ice Magic and Orga's Lightning Magic." he explained shortly, both hands' fingers on each side of his temples, a large magic aura seeping out of him.
"Memory-Make: Sword of Frozen Black Lightning!" As he chants this, his eyes glow with a light blue as he draws both his arms back, a white magic following his movements as he pushed both arms forward, the magic shooting out a whirlwind of ice that goes straight for the Ice-Make mage, bolts of lightning also following as it strikes down upon the ice, creating a giant surge of power of both Ice and Lightning which hits him, shocking him of the Spell's powers.
(A/N: So guys, like the GIF I added? I'm planning of using them when I can so you guys will know how the spells looks likes! Continuing on!!)
"Memory-Make: Shrine of Turbulent Fang!" Doing this, Rufus thrusts his hands forward then swiping them to the side, giant hurricanes appearing as they move towards Gray Fullbuster, him hurriedly chanting a defensive spell.
"Ice-Make: Shield!" Saying that, a shield made of hard ice forms in front of him, protecting him of the the spiralling pillars of wind.
"Ah, not so fast. Memorised. Now, forget." After that little sentence from the Sabertooth Mage, the Shield then disappears without a trace, leaving his opponent standing in confusion and shock.
"What the-?! What happened?! Why can't I remember my spells?!" He yelled, too late to cast another as one of the hurricanes already reached to him, pulling him up and sending him off flying, yelling in pain as damage is inflicted upon him.
"You cannot defeat me, Mister Fullbuster. It's futile." The masked man said, stopping his magic as the Mage falls to the ground, trying hard to stand back up, his hands moving to his shirt as he rips it off, his guild mark showing proudly.
"I will never give up! Ever since I joined Fairy Tail, I have never lost to the same opponent twice." He said, arms out as he prepares for another spell.
"Now, Rufus. Stop toying him, at least let them think they can win." A voice echoes in the Blond's head, the familiar soft voice making him smirk slightly as he sighs quietly.
"Fine, Miss Lucy. But better win. I wouldn't want my sacrifice to go to waste." He chuckles mentally, standing tall as he looks toward his opponent.
"Ice-Make Unlimited: One Sided Chaotic Dance!" With a quick speed, swords then appear in a spiralling motion as it goes upward, the Memory-Make Mage looking at it with fake shock as he secretly memorises it.
"Well, Rufus?! Did you memorise that?!" The ravenette questioned, the ice still continuing to form as it goes higher and higher.
"This-this much?! It-it's too fast! I can't keep up!" He exclaimed, the swords then pointing at him as they whizz forward, stabbing him with multiple strikes, ice forming around as it cover his figure.
"I have memorised flames that can break ice, have you forgotten? Memory-Make: Karma of The Burning Land!" Surprisingly, as the flames burst around the cold ice, it seems unaffected as the ice still stays firm.
"Well, I've memorised flames that are more hotter than any flames you've memorised! Ice-Make: Ice Bringer!" Two blades then form in his hands, him jumping up and slashing at Rufus, making him scream in pain as he then gets knocked out.
"And Rufus is defeated by Fairy Tail's Gray Fullbuster-kabo! Earning them one point-kabo!!" The mascot, Mato says as the digital numbers of the scoreboard change.
"Well that was one heck of a battle, wasn't it Yajima-san?" Chapati asked the old man beside him, getting a nod of reply.
"It sure was." He simply said, his eyes squinted as he eyes the Lacrima Screen in front of him.
"Well, shall we make it more of a challenge to them? Mato, it's your call!" Chapati Lola said, the little pumpkin masked man nodding as he smiles.
"Of course-kabo! To make this a more exciting event for both players and spectators! We have created something that we have never used in our past years of the Games-kabo!" He explained, hands raised as giant illuminated words appeared in the middle of the arena.
"Let Leech Mode: Activate-kabo!"
