Love the Lonely
I first noticed those soulful eyes
that long silky blonde hair
the bright red lipstick
those deep dimples
and that joyful smile in the midst of summer
those green eyes
had just as much depth
and just as much life
as a forest
with the same evergreen shade
they connected with
my hopeful brown eyes
and from then on
I was addicted
they drew me in and captured my heart within seconds
from them on you were my drug
my fix
my high
my life
I got to know the stunning owner of the eyes
and me and her became one
our souls danced in harmony
rising and falling to the beat of life
moving fluidly
as if they had been together
since the start of humanity
just waiting to collide again
we traveled and explored
we laughed and we loved
we
lived
I crave those days
when we would wake up
gazing into each other's eyes
smiles on our faces
knowing that we were truly happy
we fell deeper and deeper
into each other
to make sure you would be mine
and that no one could steal
the only thing
I loved in life
I got down on a knee
and offered my life
my undying passion
my hope
my trust
I promised to be there for you
to always love you
and to never give up
no matter where life takes us
but then cruel reality
ruined our dream world
and we were suddenly outcasts
banned from humanity
because our love was unholy
because our love wasn't Christian
no matter where we went
hate trailed
purely because
we were 2 girls
who were madly in love
and slowly
ever so slowly
the life in your evergreen eyes
...
was stolen
your kindred soul
was too delicate to handle the pressure and hate
that people threw like knives at us
so I gave myself up
to be your shield
to be the knight that protected us
but even I couldn't fully save you
from the cruel insults
and disgusting jokes
you became depressed
and I tried
so goddamn hard
to reach out to you
but you were always just
grazing
my fingertips
I spent countless nights
and endless days
trying to rescue you
from this cruel prison
that the world has trapped you in
I gave up my life to save yours
but even then I couldn't save you
you pushed me away
refusing to let me love you
saying that you didn't
want me to get hurt too
but all I ever wanted
was to
love the lonely side of you
to save you from the darkness
that existed in this world
your hand slipped down the rocky cliff of life that you were desperately clinging onto
trying and failing to catch yourself
so you

the funeral was beautiful
and so were you
a couple nights before
i had found you
in the bathtub one night
and your fingertips were blue
you overdosed
on bottles of xanax and prozac
then washed it down
with cheap vodka
when I found you
the view sent shivers
down my back
you were cold and lifeless
with a look of desperation
gracing your face
this isn't what I planned
we were supposed to live out our days
happy and content
but sadly this was not the case
family and friends showed up
to see you one last time
the saddest part is
no one will be held accountable for this crime
no one will feel guilt
no will will even care
that you were pressured to kill yourself
just because of the gender you were attracted to
so kids
take a lesson
from this tradgedy
to realize
that
"Society is a cruel bitch"
