"Oh lord That's a big ass thing!" Ellis screamed at the top of his lungs
"Just keep running!" I yelled back to him with nick leaning on my shoulder as we ran. The tank that was hunting us roared as load as it could.
"We've been running forever!" Coach yelled "we need to find somewhere to hold out!"
"Like where?!" Rochelle asks whilst taking shots at the tank.
"There!" I yelled, pointing forward to a safe room.
"Quick! Everyone inside!" Nick yelled
We all ran into the safe room and blocked the door so the tank couldn't get in
"Holy, shit! That was too close" I sighed in relief whilst panting
"I can't believe we actually made it" coach smiled
"Yeah, speak for yourself! My leg is fucked!" nick spoke up
"There is always one person who has to see something wrong with everything" ellis sighed "guess we know our person" he laughed
"This isn't a joke! Ellis! That tank is going to wait for us for a long time, hell, we'll be waiting for hours, maybe even days! And we don't have hours OR days! We're low on food and ammo we need to find a way out and soon" nick replied in a serious tone "Rochelle any luck on that door?" He turned to Rochelle who was looking at the other safe room door across the room,
"Well..." she turned to us "the door leads to a street that has a grocery store full of supplies"
"How do you know?" I ask
"Look" she motioned for me to come over, I walked to her and looked through the door
"The streets are empty and the store has big glass doors and windows, you can see into it perfectly!" She continued
"Great! So what's stopping us?" Nick asks
"Er well" Rochelle stood up straight and faced the group "the door is jammed, it won't budge and it's different from the original safe room doors we have" she lightly shook her head
I pulled out my pistol and shot the door at the lock, I pushed on the door but it still wouldn't move
"Well it's not planning to budge any time soon" I say
*BANG* the safe door behind us that was barricaded erupted with a massive bang
"Shit, I forgot the tank was still out there, I shouldn't have shot, sorry" I scratch the back of my head
Coach sighed "well... we're stuck here, what are we gonna do for food?"
I walked over to my backpack that rested on a table next to some health kits, I took a hold of it in one hand and undid the zip and looked at the food inside...
I sighed
"Y/n? What's wrong? How's the food looking?" Ellis asks
"It's not looking good... by the looks of it, one of us will have to go without tonight" I stated whilst pulling the only food we had left out of my bag, I held the food in my hands and I turned to my people
"I'll go without tonight" i suggested
"Nuh-uh. Noo way" Ellis replied
" well one of us has to so I might as well go without, you guys need it more than I do" I stated
"Or we can try get into that store" Ellis suggested
"How dumbass?! The door is jammed" nick replied
"Back out the way we came!" I spoke brightly as the idea came to my head
"Er say what now?!" Rochelle was shocked
"Girl you can't be serious!" Coach faced me
"I can go out the back and get to the store and bring the supplies back here, we can stay here for a few days"
"But the tank-"
"I know about the tank, but I can lead it away! I have a pretty secure plan, coach, pass me that air horn" I commanded
"here"
I took it thankfully out of his hands and put it in my hoodie pocket,
"no matter what happens, no matter what you hear, ALWAYS keep this door CLOSED never open it" I said tearing down the furniture in front of it, I'll open the safe room door that leads to the door on the other side as soon as I get the supplies" I explained as I faced the door, my hand gripping the metal rod that held the door closdd
"y/n are you sure? Are you sure you wanna go through with this? We can't lose you" nick put his hand on my shoulder, I looked at him
"I got this" I reassured
"no..." We both turned to see Ellis
"we... Have got this" he cocked his gun
"whoah, dude you sure you wanna go with?" Rochelle asked
"i can handle it Ro" Ellis spoke out walking to the door
"Ellis she is right" I looked at him "are you 100% sure?"
"Yeah" he gently smiles
"okay..." I spoke, still unsure
"everyone! Get back! Coach be ready to lock this door behind us!" I commanded
"3..."
"2..."
"1..." Together, me and Ellis threw the rod of the door and ran outside into the middle of the street
"where is it?" I whispered, as I said this we heard the door slam behind us, we looked back at the door "let's get moving" I started to walking away from the safe room, however Ellis wasn't following "elle?" I ask walking back to him, he was looking at the roof of the safe room
"I...uh... I think I found it..." He whispered as he pointed to the roof, I looked in that direction and gasped as I took a step back, I heard a horde of zombies coming our way, the tank spotted us and started to bang on his chest roaring
"Ellis run!" I grabbed his wrist and dragged him around to the other side of the safe room, I pulled the air horn out of my pocket and made as much noise with it as possible
"y/n what the hell?! Is your goal to get us killed before we return?!" He yelled
"trust me!!" I yelled, suddenly a huge horde of zombies came sprinting our way whilst the tank was charging towards us from behind, I took a jar of puke and threw it with as much force as I could at the tanks eyes, the tank stopped running and tried to get the disgusting substance from its eyes,
"quick!" I grabbed ellis' hand and we ran towards the horde
"are you crazy?!" He yelled as we ran through the horde, as we got out of the end of the end of the horde, we saw them attacking the blinded tank
"they- they ignored us and went straight for the tank?!" He asked breathless
"I... Told you..." I caught my breath "to trust me" I smiled at him
He grabbed a pipe bomb and threw it at the remaining horde,
"Now let's get to that store!" He cheered, we started to run to the store as we heard the pipe bomb explode behind us...
"Finally were here" I sigh in relief,
"Yeah" Ellis caught his breath "Now..." We both stated up at the glass walled store "how are we going to get inside... Without setting off the-"
I walked past Ellis whilst he was in mid sentence and opened the store doors
"never mind" he smirked
"not everything has to be smashed" I smiled
We walked and the store looked surprisingly untouched
"wow.." Ellis was surprised
"I'm gobsmacked" I admired, suddenly I snapped out of my daze " okay! Let's fill these backs up as full and as quickly as we can before anymore undead bastards show up uninvited"
"on it" he replied and we ran off in different directions
I found where the bottles of water were stored and put them in my back pack
"huh, just about one more thing could fit in here"
I organised my bag to try and fit more supplies in it, suddenly a tin can landed on the floor behind me and rolled into the bottom of the shelf, I sharply looked behind me slightly scared
"Ellis?" I asked
"elle?" I asked once more as I stood up
"answer me elle!" I slung my backpack on my shoulder and pulled out my pistol.
"Ell-" suddenly a pair of hands covered my mouth eyes, I felt someone breath on the back of my neck
"guess who..." They whispered
In annoyance, realising who it was I wriggled free from their grasp and swated their hands away
"Goddamn it elle!" I spoke annoyed
"hahaha hahaha!" He clutched his stomach "I'm sorry I'm sorry" he caught his breath "I scare ya?" He asked
"no!" I denied crossing my arms, suddenly he gently pushed my back to the wall and bent down so we were eye level
"ya sure?" He smirked
"uh, Ellis?" Suddenly his eyes widened and he quickly moved away
"Sorry y/n I...uh, I just couldn't help myself"
Help myself? I repeated in my head
Suddenly, I started to feel a sensation, I started to grow more and more attracted to Ellis. Out of no where I tackled him to the ground and smashed my lips onto his, my back pack falling off in the process. He licked the bottom of my lip asking for entrance, I teased him and didn't grant it, he moaned in frustration and grabbed my ass
I gasped and he took this as an opportunity to enter, I moaned deeper into the kiss, growing more and more passionate as each second passed us by.
However to my disappointment he pulled away and stood up, helping me up in the process
"well, as much as I would like to carry this on" he smiled "We have to get back before our people starve"
"oh yeah, right" I laughed, I picked up my back pack, suddenly we heard roaring,
"uh...what was that?" I looked at Ellis
He shook his shoulders and we walked closer to the glass looking for the source.
"Oh shit! A herd" I panicked
"stay calm" Ellis reassured me
"stay calm? How can another herd of these things come so quickly, we recently just killed the previous one!"
"Shh! Maybe they will pass us" he grabbed my shoulder and we crouched beneath the widow so we were out of view"
Most of the herd passed but a few stragglers wandered into the store, Ellis got out his pistol and aimed at the stragglers, I quickly reacted and pushed his gun to face ground, i shook my head "too much noise" I whispered
"We have no melee weapons y/n, we'll shoot and make a run for it" I sighed knowing that no one can win against Ellis.
"Fine" I agreed "let's just get this over with"
He aimed his gun and shot the stragglers as quickly as he could
All of a sudden we could here the herd charging back
"move it!" I yelled dragging Ellis with me, we crossed the street to the safe door that was jammed
"nick! Open up!" Ellis yelled
"Ellis!" I panicked
"the door is still fucked!" Nick yelled from the inside
"they're getting closer!" I buried my face in Ellis' chest, he securely wrapped his strong arm around me pulling me closer whilst he was pulling out his pistol
Suddenly a zombie that was ahead of the herd grabbed me and pulled me away from Ellis, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder as he shot the zombieI pulled my sleeve back over my shoulder
"thanks" I praised him with still panic in my voice, he gave a warming smile and then looked at the door and his face turned serious once more
"nick stand back!" He yelled he shot the door and to our surprise it opened
"really?!" I yelled "seriously?! We could have opened it from the outside?!" I yelled in frustration
"not now y/n!" Ellis pushed me inside, he barged in after me and closed the door, Rochelle put her hands on my shoulders, I slightly flinched in pain but not enough for her to notice, she backed us to a corner whilst the men barricaded the door. Once it was done we all just stood in silence, nothing but the moans and groans and bangs from the zombies outside...
...Nick spoke up breaking the silence
"well... Were fucked" he said sarcastically
"hmm tell that to my back pack" I grinned throwing it to him, he caught it and also made contact with his suit, he instantly dropped the bag in disgust
"argh! Y/n that things covered in dust!"
"Will you just shut up and open it?" I smirked containing my laughter, he growled and knelt down and unzipped the bag, his frown turned upside down at the glorious sight!
"wow!" He was gobsmacked, he pulled a can out of my bag, he slightly threw it up in the air and caught it and stood,
"this is definitely bound to last us until those "things" have moved on" he laughed
"Yeah well if it wasn't for elle then it wouldn't have been possible, so give him credit too" I said blankly, but thankfully, whilst they were all in their own conversations complementing Ellis on how cool he was, I rubbed my shoulder as I walked to a bedroom, I shut the door and sat on the edge of the bed, I looked into the mirror in front of me and slowly pulled down my sleeve from my shoulder to reveal a bite
"shit..." I whispered, my eyes watered but nothing left them, I quickly pulled my sleeve over my shoulder and looked down at the floor
"what do I do?" I panicked silently
"do about what?"
I suddenly sat up to see Ellis standing in the door way "I'm surprised you didn't hear me" he smiled, he grabbed the door and swing it forwards and backwards "this thing is louder than a siren" as the door creaked. I smiled gently and let out a small laugh, he stopped his actions and sat next to me
"what's wrong?" He asked concerned
I sighed and looked down again, he just looked at me then got up, he went to the door way where he once was and got a water bottle out of his bag
"here" he spoke, I looked up and saw the water bottle gently flying towards me. I reached out my arm to catch it but pain seared from my shoulder throughout my body, I hissed in pain and dropped my arm letting the bottle crash to the floor next to my feet
"you hurt your shoulder didn't you?" He asked worried "lemme see" he said
Demanding
"No!" I rejected, he walked to me and grabbed my sleeve, I gripped his wrist with my hand but that guy was full on muscle and ignored my struggle and yanked down my sleeve. His eyes slowly widened
"Ellis..." I went to speak but I couldn't, I had nothing to say... What am I supposed to say in this situation?
"I'm sorry" he looked down
"huh?" I was confused
"I let this happen" he closed his eyes as he sat next to me
"elle..." I spoke silently with sanders and shock
"if I had just kept you safe, maybe if I hadn't had shot those stragglers to bring the horde down on us in the first place I..." He rested his forehead in his palm and gripped his hair
"elle" I said once more, I gently grabbed his hand and pulled it towards my chest and placed it on my heart
"feel that? It's still beating, I'm still breathing and I want you to stay this way, don't let what happened to me, happen to you" my eyes watered "I love you Ellis" I cried, warm tears escaping my eyes "
Ellis p.o.v
I looked at her, looked into her...into her eyes
"I won't let it happen I promise" I pulled her hand to me and I gently kissed it. She suddenly groaned in pain and leant over, I panicked as she started to cough blood hard. I patted her back and rubbed circles to calm her down. I handed her a tissue so wipe the blood of her
She sat up straight once more and looked at me
"thanks" she smiled weakly,
what do I do? What do I do?! She can't leave me! I need her! What am I suppose to do without her? I love her!
"Can I kiss you one more time?" I asked hoping it would be a yes but she shook her head
"I don't wanna risk it" she replied distraught more tears rolling down her face... And mine, her face was pale, her eyes were losing their colour and the depth of her breathing increased.
Reader p.o.v
"I love you" I cried he rested his forehead on mine and cried "I love you too" I saw my world getting darker and darker
"elle... Please don't let me become one of them" Knowing I only had a few minutes I softly and delicately kisses his forehead "I would never ask anyone to do this but please" I cried even harder
He wanted to fight back, he wanted to say no! That you will be okay! Maybe you wouldn't Chang, but he saw no use, he doesn't want to see you as one of those things and if that is you last dying wish then he shall grant it just for you. He looked around and grabbed a knife from a bedside table. We were both kneeling on the floor... Hugging each other, embracing each other, getting as close as we can, with the only bit of light in my vision I closed my eyes... Waiting for my end. I felt one of Ellis' hands Un wrap and he lifted it in the air with the sharp object in hand
"I love you..."
"I love you too.."
I felt a sting and then nothing... My vision faded...I couldn't see anything, suddenly everything turned white
"y/n" I looked behind me and saw nick Rochelle coach and Ellis, I smiled and I ran towards them and hugged them as we faded
Ellis p.o.v
We were burying y/n's body on top of a hill, we just finished and we stayed there for a while... Taking in the scene
"hey guys... I found this from y/n's pocket" nick raised a letter. It said on the front "to my fellow survivors"
"I thought we should read it together" he suggested, he opened the letter and Rochelle and coach surrounded him, I just sat in front of y/n's grave listening to nick until she mentioned something in the letter
'Im so glad that out of the all the groups in the whole world I could have crossed paths with, it was you guys. I am proud to call you my family and I love each and every one of you so much
Before I finish I just wanted to say thanks to Ellis, you may not have realised it then elle but I look up to you, I cared for you and I loved you with everything I had left, in fact I still do love you and care for you and look up to you... I love you Ellis and please, keep yours and the groups hearts beating, I know you guys have it in you!"
More hot tears streamed down my face as I looked to the sky "I love you y/n" I cried whilst nick rubbed my back
"I love you too...Ellis..."
