Chapter 4: Why did we break up?
Cameron's P.O.V.
The next day Macy came to the bus again and we sat in the back lounge. Or more like I sat and Macy laid down with her head in my lap as I played with her hair.
"Why did we break up?" I asked.
"Because I couldn't deal with you being on tour"
"Roo we only broke up for what, two months?"
"I guess"
"Well it killed me to not be around you too and when you left I just couldn't. I kept getting drunk and for shows I would just stand there, play guitar and then go back to the bus and curl up into a ball along with a bottle of Desperados"
"I'm sorry Pluto" I smiled at the nickname.
"I missed you calling me that"
"I missed you"
"I missed you too" I leant down and kissed her lips. All of a sudden Macy started laughing. "What's so funny?" I quizzed.
"Do you remember Christmas?" I started laughing too.
"That was so funny, my mom's reaction"
"It was priceless" she said.
"Cameron?"
"Yeah" I looked down at her to see her face had turned serious.
"I wrote a song about you"
"You did?"
"Well I wrote two actually, one was called I hate you, you dickhead, which I don't know why I wrote because I wasn't mad at you I was more mad at myself for letting the worst get the better of me by walking away, and the other one was called Our song"
"Please don't be mad at yourself Roo for walking away"
"Yeah, but you kept begging me not to leave and I promised I wouldn't, but I did. I was such a hypocrite"
"No baby, you're not."
"I am"
"Please sing the song for me?" I asked.
"Which one?" I smiled at her and replied "Our song" she grabbed my acoustic guitar and started playing a twinkly tune, which then turned into a strumming sequence of chords. She soon joined in by singing.

She plucked the last few strings and the stopped. Tears fell down her face and I just pulled her to me.
"Shh, it's okay, we're okay." I cooed as she sobbed.
"I'm sorry" she cried.
"For what?"
"Leaving. I broke my promise"
"Everyone breaks their promises Roo"
"I know, but I loved you so much and I still do, but I walked away"
"It doesn't matter Macy, we're back together. The past is the past and that's that, now focus on the future. Our future." she looked up at me, wiping away her tears.
"And what is our future?"
"I don't know, what do you want it to be?"
"I know what I want it to be, but I don't want to say it because you might not want it"
"Try me" she leaned over and whispered something in my ear, which I'm not going to tell you.
"Okay" I nodded and looked at her.
"You're okay with it"
"As long as I'm with you, I'm happy"
"Good" I kissed her lips which were salty due to the tears.
"That song was perfect" I whispered.
"I'm glad you think so, I prefer it to I hate you, you're a dickhead"
"I prefer it too and I haven't even heard the other one"
"You wouldn't want to" she giggled. I've missed that giggle and smile.
"I love you Roo"
"I love you too Pluto"
She laid her head in my lap and I played with her hair.
The thing she whispered in my ear kept replaying in my head. I smiled, hoping that it will come true one day.
