- Lillian's POV -
I stepped into the shower, my cuts and welts burning like a bitch.
I let myself get used to the water before I began to wash my body.
I began to hum silently but by the time I started to wash my hair, I was full blown singing.
I can't buy your love, don't even wanna try.
Sometimes the truth won't make you happy, still I'm not gonna lie.
But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you, it beats only for you.
I know I'm far from perfect, nothin' like your entourage
I can't grant you any wishes, I won't promise you the stars.
But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you, it beats only for you.
Cause when you've given up.
When no matter what you do it's never good enough.
When you never thought that it could ever get this tough,
That's when you feel my kind of love.
And when you're crying out.
When you fall and then can't pick your happy off the ground
When the friends you thought you had haven't stuck around.
That's when you feel my kind of love.
You won't see me at the parties, I guess I'm just no fun.
I won't be turning up the radio singing, "Baby You're The One."
But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you, it beats only for you.
I know sometimes I get angry, and I say what I don't mean.
I know I keep my heart protected, far away from my sleeve.
But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you, it beats only for you.
Cause when you've given up.
When no matter what you do it's never good enough.
When you never thought that it could ever get this tough,
That's when you feel my kind of love.
And when you're crying out.
When you've fallen and can't pick your happy off the ground
When the friends you thought you had haven't stuck around.
That's when you feel my kind of love.
as I finished the last note, I heard someone knock on the door. then I heard the knob twist.
good thing I locked it.
I heard knocking again.
"Yes?" I said.
"You alright? you've been in here for a while." I heard Dallas say.
"Yeah, I'm finishing up now." I said. back.
"Okay." I heard her walk away.
I rinsed my hair out and rinsed my entire body and got out of the shower.
I changed my clothes quickly, avoiding the mirrors.
I brushed my hair and my teeth and went to put my shoes on.
I met up with Dallas and Mackenzie downstairs and we were ready to leave.
as we walked out the door, Mackenzie slid her hand into mine and squeezed it.
when I looked down at her, she smiled and continued to walk.
I smiled back and we let go of hands when we got to the car so I could get into the front seat.
- Demi's POV -
as the kids went off to lunch, I continued to text Wilmer.
Wilmer :
so I just bought the ticket and i'll be there the day after tomorrow.
me :
that's so soon
Wilmer :
I thought you couldn't wait to see me?
me :
I cant wait to see you but I still have to clean my house and stuff.
Wilmer :
its fine. I have seen plenty of things.
me :
I know. well, okay then. I cant wait to seeeeeeee you bestie!
Wilmer :
I cant wait to see you either, beautiful <3
I blushed but dropped my phone when I heard someone knock at my classroom door.
I picked it up and saw that there was a crack in my screen.
I cursed under my breath as a student came running in, out of breath.
"They are fighting in the cafeteria!" he yelled.
I stood up quickly, grabbing my keys and thanking God that I didn't wear heels or a dress today.
I riushed after him.
"Why didn;t you tell anyone else?" I asked him.
"it's like a riot in there! so many people are fighting at once!" he rushed out, still walking fast.
we rushed towards the doors and I ran straight towards the first fight I saw.
I grabbed the boy on top's collar and yanked him off of the other guy. I pushed him out of the cafeteria.
I ran around pulling girls off of other girls and guys off of other guys. \
there were other teachers doing the same as me.
the thing is, we would all know who was and wasn't fighting because if they were fighting, they had some kind of mark on them.
I rushed over to the main fight, where all the fighting started.
it was two girls.
everyone else was ushered out of the cafeteria while three teachers pulled one girl off the other.
she was fighting the teachers, trying to get back to the girl who just lay there. her face was bloody and her clothes were torn.
the teachers lost grip of the other girl and she ran up and kicked the girl in the face.
the teachers got the other girl back and dragged her out of the cafeteria, leaving me with the girl sprawled out on the floor.
I ran up to her to see if she was still breathing.
she was but she was hurt very bad.
I picked her up and carried her to the nurses office.
when I walked in, I cursed under my breath cause all the chairs and beds were filled with other victims of the fights.
I walked to the front office and sat her in a chair.
"What's your name?" I asked her, picking up the student phone book.
"Jessie." she moaned out.
I almost cried but I held it together as I searched her name and dialed it into to front office phone.
"Hello?" a lady said at the other end.
"Hi! so I have Jessie .... Paige here, is this Mrs. Paige?" I asked frantically.
"Yes, what did she do now?" she sighed out.
I rolled my eyes at the ladies rude remark, like, that's your child.
"She got into a fight. I'm pretty sure she didn't start it but she is hurt really bad and I think you should come and take her to a doctor." I rushed out.
"Okay, I'm on my way." the lady said as if she didn't care much.
I put the phone down and went back to Jessie.
"Your mother is on her way, alright?" I said, taking her hand in mine.
she seemed to have all the life back in her as her whole face lit up with fear.
"My mom!? you called my mom!?" she yelled in my face.
she looked terrified.
I nodded and she began to cry.
"No!" she cried out into her hands.
"Why? what's wrong?" I asked her.
"She's going to ship me off to Mexico to live with my father!" she whined out.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I said.
"I didn't even do anything wrong! she just started to punch me!" Jessie said.
"Why would she send you to your father's if you didn't do anything?" I asked her.
"She told me that if I got one more phone call home that she would send me there."
"Well, I can try to talk to her about it." I said, as a lady, I'm guessing her mom, walked in.
"Don't worry about it." Jessie said as she grabbed her book bag and followed her mom out the school.
I went back to my classroom and sat at my desk.
what a fucking day this was.
- Dallas' POV -
I felt my nerves worsen as I changed into my uniform.
it was just practice but a lot of people were coming to this practice.
I took a few deep breaths as I started to stretch.
I didn't get much sleep so my bones were cracking and they were a little sore.
I heard my name being called so I jogged over to the opening and smiled at Mackenzie and Lillian who were standing off to the sides.
I took a few breaths and played my routine over in my head.
I got in my starting position and went for it.
I ran, did a round-off, back hand spring, back hand spring, backflip, and a layout before my signature split.
it wasn't tight, I could tell. I felt kind of loose and off balance. I needed to be more swift with my moves and I wasn't.
but this was just one of the many categories tonight.
I only participated in flips (the one I just did), balance beams, dance, and uneven bars.
I ran off to the side to face my coach.
she shook her head at me. "You can do so much better, Dallas. I'm disappointed in you." she said as I fixed my ponytail, sweat already dripping off my face.
I watched as the other girls did their routines and they were good. shit.
I was always up first because my name starts with a D.
I hated that.
I wiped my face and made sure everything was good before they called my name for balance beams.
I walked out and stood on the balance beam.
I flipped onto my hands and talentedly walked on the beam, on my hands.
I flipped and turned to go the other way, doing a big flip where my legs went beneath the beam and I caught myself with my hands, just like I was supposed to.
here comes the hardest part.
I leaned down and flipped my legs above my head and placed my feet on the side of the blance beam that was in front of me so I was basically looking at the back of my ankles.
I pulled myself up and flipped off the beam, all in one swift move.
a lot of cheering came from the crowd this time and I smiled at myself.
I walked off to my coach again.
"Great job! your balance was on point and you didn't miss a step! you even did everything in the perfect amount of time!" she high fived me and I refixed my ponytail.
it loosens a lot when I preform these kind of things.
15-20 minutes later, my next category was up.
dance.
this was my favorite and there were a lot of girls who entered JUST for dance so I wasn't first.
I changed into my dance uniform and tightened my ponytail.
"Do you remember everything?" my coach asked me.
I nodded as I took a few deep breaths.
I played my routine over in my head as many times as I could until they finally called my name.
I walked out and stood in the center.
the music started slow and I began my routine.
it got complicated around the end because I was already tired form no sleep, stressed because life, and I already did two other categories. also, my side started to cramp.
but I couldn't just stop so I held out through the pain.
I tried not to focus on it and I tried to keep my attention on the beat of the song and my dance moves.
I finished up and jogged over to my coach.
I held my side as pain shot through it.
"You did great, kid! next time watch the beat a little closer, you were off my a millisecond! you okay?" she asked as she realized that I was in pain.
"Yeah, just cramps." I said, trying to stretch it out, causing more pain.
"You want to drop out of the last category? if you do, you wont be able to do it at finals though." she said.
I shook my head. "No, I'm okay." I said.
I changed my outfit and tried to ignore the pain.
I went out when they called my name and dipped my hands into the powder.
I began to spin on the uneven bars and the pain kept coming.
I hurried to finish and then ran off the platform and to my coach.
"Why'd you run off so fast?" she asked me.
"I can't. it hurts too bad." I said.
"Alright. let me know at least one week before finals if its gets better. you're good to go home now." she said.
I nodded and went to the showers. I washed my sweaty body and changed into regular clothes.
I came out and got Mackenzie and Lillian.
"You were so good Dally!" Mackenzie said.
I smiled a weak smiled and nodded. my smile went away instantly once she looked away. I guess I hadn't realized that Lillian was still looking at me.
"You don't think so?" Lillian asked me.
I sighed. "I'm usually so much better."
"Well, I think you are very talented and if they cant see that then they are some assholes." she said. I gave her a look and then I looked at Mackenzie who didn't realize anything.
we got in the car and went home.
