at traffic junction, in New York.
I tapped my foot on the ground as I scrolled through Instagram as I waited for Farkle.
It's been 15 minutes since he replied "yes darlin" and I'd been waiting at this exact spot since then. Where was he?
I got worried as every minute went by, so I started walking back to our houses.
Was he okay? Is he still at home? I needed to find him.
I walked quickly, knowing that we may be late at this rate. (a/n: omg did you see that "late" and "rate")
However, just as I was about a few inches away from his porch, Dad walked out of our own house.
"Riley? Didn't you leave like 20 minutes ago? Why are you still here?" He asked me out of curiosity and concern.
"Um... I'm waiting for a friend."
He shook his head and sighed, saying, "Riley Matthews. Get to school right this instant. Your friend may not care about being late, but I sure am very particular about your punctuality, so go now."
"Bu—"
He cut me off and started dragging me along. "No buts. Let's go."
I turned around one last time to look up at his bedroom window, wondering what the heck happened to Farkle when I saw a glance of a blonde girl at his bay window before the curtains covered up whatever I could have seen through them.
