"Frederick, come on, man, we've been sitting in this car staring at this house for the past ten minutes, we have to get out at some point."

I looked over at my brother sitting in the passenger seat and looked back at the white house with the disgustingly ugly brown colored door and took a deep breath, releasing it a second later while I tightened the hold I had on the steering wheel of the vehicle.

"Your daughter is in this house waiting for you." My brother spoke again and this time, I nodded, laughing nervously, feeling beads of sweat forming on my forehead.

I closed my eyes for a moment and tried to amass whatever courage I had in me. "I'm....scared," I started, finally getting out what had been going through me since I received the address to this destination. I looked back at my brother and sighed, might as well get it all out now.

"Michael, I'm scared." I told him again. "I've been waiting for this moment for so long and now that it might actually happen, I'm scared to walk out of this vehicle and realize that we came all this way for nothing because they've lied once again. I don't know if I would be able to handle this. I am at my breaking point, hanging on by the tiny thread of hope that I would be able to find my daughter and hold her in my arms for the first time. This moment right here is all I got, because the second I step out of this vehicle and knock on this door, everything will change. Whether the baby is in there or not, nothing will be the same; not for me at least."

This was it, there was no going back. Inside this house was my daughter and finally, after all we've all been through at the hand of Karlie and Dexter, we were finally going to enjoy a little happiness that we incredibly needed and so deserved.

After two weeks of searching and searching, obsessing over where she could have possibly been, going mad because we couldn't find her, We were finally about to have her and bring her home with us where she belonged, with her family, with Eva who so desperately needed to know that her child was safe.

This child was the key to bringing back the love of my life, the mother of my child. She would be her mother's saving grace, something I unfortunately couldn't be.

Michael was staring at me, his face bland, expressionless, showing absolutely no true emotions  for a moment until suddenly he opened his mouth and spoke. "Get out of the car, we are going to get that child back because I don't know about you, but I need to see my niece." His face, the picture of pure determination as he said those words before pulling on the door handle and pushing it wide open. He stared at me; "so, you're coming or do I have to do this alone, because either way, she's coming home with us today, there's no second guessing that. It's time for her to be with her family."

I was smiling brightly by the end of his sentence and shook my head slightly as I opened the door and stepped out of the vehicle. My brother and I made eye contact, nodded at one another and finally stepped over the curve and started moving towards the single story, decent looking house with the atrocious colored door.

"Let's get your daughter back." I heard coming from Michael while we walked towards the house.

That door was even more repulsive looking when standing this close to it. I grimaced while staring at it and debated for just a fraction of a second if I actually wanted to touch it but then got over it pretty quickly, knocking rather gently a few times on the door as not to alarm whomever was inside because our main focus was to get inside that house and make sure the baby was alright before anything else. We needed whomever that was inside the house to willingly open the door for us.

Michael and I stood there and waited a few seconds for the door to open. My heart was beating at such an insane rate that I was almost certain that the movements could actually be seen. I kept shifting from one foot to the other, impatiently waiting for what felt like forever outside this house.

It wasn't blazing hot outside, thanks to the light mid-september breeze that we were lucky to be enjoying at the moment. The leaves had started falling, making this fall season one of the most beautiful seasons we experienced as always.

I looked at my brother and frowned when I realized that we had been standing there for awhile now and the door still hadn't been opened. So, without waiting any longer, I knocked again, this time a little longer, a little louder.

"Who is it?" Finally came a male voice inside the house. My heart skipped and suddenly I had an urge to break down this door, run inside that house and strangle whomever that was.

But I didn't, my senses telling me that the best way to handle the situation would be to wait very impatiently while the idiot on the other side of the closed door opened it of his free will. Which he did.

The door opened, revealing a tall white man with cropped short sandy blond hair with a hairless face wearing a white wife beater and gray sweatpants, his focus solely on a child he was cradling in his arm. The baby's head in the crook of his arm, while he looked down at her holding on to his finger, a smile on his face.

My jaws tightened as I stared at the man who was holding this beautiful baby with the gorgeous toothless smile, dimples that appeared when she smiled and the red-ish loose curls on her tiny infant head. From what I could tell, the child had deep blue eyes and amazingly enough looked like a whiter version of Eva which was incredible, that realization on its own telling me I was standing in front of my child.

God help me, I wanted to kill this man. So naturally, I stepped forward, taking only a step before my brother glared at me and shook his head slightly. I frowned but still stepped back as the man finally looked at us.

"I'm sorry, I was cleaning this poop monster," he started, finally focusing on us. "Can I help you with something?"

I scoffed at him, my hands now in my pockets. "Actually yeah, I'm going to ask to hand over the child so that you and I can have a nice conversation about what I'm sure you're just now realizing is about to happen to you for abducting a child and putting her mother in a coma."

The man's expression changed, the smile finally wiped off his face as he stepped back which brought me great pleasure to watch as he realized he was royally fucked. He looked around quickly and back. I stepped forward, he stepped back.

"Let's not make this any harder than it should be. Hand over the child please." I said, unable to keep the smile off my face at what I knew I wanted to do to this man the second the child was out of his reach.

He was now moving backward as quickly as one could given the situation and holding on tightly to the child until finally, he turned around and tried to run which pissed me off to no end as I lost any patience I had in me and reached out, grabbing the back of his wife beater, pulling him back and turning him around the second he tried to run away.

"Seriously, what the fuck did I just say? Do you really have to make this harder? Where can you possible go in this house to hide that I won't be able to find?" I asked as I pulled the child from his hands and handed her over to my brother. And finally, after making sure she was secured in his arms,  I looked back at the man standing in from of me, looking like someone who had just encountered a ghost.

"Man listen, I_" He started stuttering,  his voice shaky as the words got out but there was nothing he could have said at this point that would have changed anything and not made me want to kill him. So before he could get out anything else, my fist connected to his face, making him stumble back as he yelled out in pain.

"You messed with the wrong family, you took the wrong child." I said, as I pulled him up by his shirt and hit him again, making him cry out more while he begged and I kept punching him, my blows a little harder each time. Again, and again, and again, and again, and again until his face was a completely bloody mess, the blood running down from his face to his clothes.

I let him fall on the floor, and released my bloody fist, sweat dripping down on my white shirt. I looked down with disdain at the now disfigured man on the floor and spit on him. "That's for cutting open my woman and taking out my child." I said, finally noticing the fact that the baby was crying uncontrollably.

I turned around to find my brother trying to soothe her. Immediately, the rage in me dissipated a little as I sighed, taking my phone out to send a quick text to Dimitri and when that was done, I found the kitchen and rinsed my fist in the skink, cursing when the water hit the cuts on my knuckles but it was worth it, it was all worth it.

"Who did you text?" Michael asked as he approached me with a now calm baby.  I grabbed the kitchen towel and dried my hands.

"Dimitri." I replied. "I need him to bring the two idiots here before we call the cops, I need to make sure our involvement in this is as limited as possible." I said, looking at the child who had her eyes closed. My God, she was beautiful.

I looked at my brother and smiled nervously. "Here, I think it's about time you hold your daughter." He said, gently handing me my daughter who I reached for with trembling hands, my fingers shaking as she was finally in my arms and I was finally, for the first time, really holding her.

"I can see Eva in her features." I said as I looked down lovingly at that tiny human I was currently cradling. She was so small, so fragile looking, so mesmerizing, so outrageously perfect.

How could it be possible to instantly love something so deeply. My heart was suddenly filled with things that I didn't possibly think existed. I loved my family, I loved Eva as I have never loved before. But this baby in my hand, that ridiculously beautiful thing with the red curls and pale face I was currently staring at, stirred in me things I couldn't explained. My heart was filled with so much love that It just might as well be inhumane.

How could it be possible to have literally just met her and already I couldn't possibly think of ever letting her out of my sight and already more than ready to promise her the world.

How could a love like this ever exist within me and me not be bursting into million little pieces.
