Hello readers!

Ok guys, lets go back to the story.
Enjoy! :)
Xxx,
Sara
.......................
Shawn's POV:
I couldn't bare seeing her like this. After the crowd of fans dissipated around me, I found her, leaning against the wall with earphones in her ears. Just by her posture and the expression on her face, I knew that she wasn't well.

I noticed that she had called me, so I decided to call her first, instead of just walking up to her. Then, when I saw her eyes brighten as she saw me calling on her phone, saw the brightest of smiles form on her face as she saw me, I knew I had done the right thing.

With my arms around her, hugging her tighter than ever, I felt like I had it all. I was here with Sadie, and I know that my place is next to her.

"How is that even possible? What are you doing here?" She asks, looking up at me with those bright eyes. Oh god, how much I wanted to kiss her.

"Visiting you, what do you think? I had to get a break after the tour finished, and I need to work on the album. So why not do it while I am with you?" I answer.

"You're the best! I am so happy you're here!" She says, hugging me again. "How long are you staying?"

"I don't know. One month minimum. Maybe more. It all depends on how much time it takes for me to finish the album. They told me I could take my time with it, as after it is released, it will all get very crazy again."

"That's awesome! But...I don't want to keep you away from your job." She says.

"Don't worry about that. You're not."

Suddenly I notice someone else's presence, and still with my arms around Sadie, I look around, finding a blonde girl with her eyes bright and lips pursed, trying to contain herself. Suddenly, she can't hold anything anymore, and letting out a small squeal, she quickly puts her hand over her mouth.

"You. Guys. Are. So. Friggin. Cute!" She says, her hand muffling her voice, but still I am able to understand what she said.

Sadie laughs, and turning to look at her, she positions herself next to me, our arms crossing as each of us still held to each others waist. Good that she didn't let go, because I wasn't pretending on doing that anytime soon.

"Violet!" I say, recognizing the blonde girl.

"That's me!" She answers, still beaming at us. "Oh my god Sadie, seeing you two together, now it sank in that you met Shawn! I'm so happy for you! It was the thing you had wished most for!" She says, and blushing, Sadie turns her head slightly away from me. "It's so nice to meet you Shawn, I'm a big fan! Not as much as Sadie is, of course, but her hype rubbed a bit on me."

"Nice to meet you too. Thanks, you know, for what you did." I say, trying to make her understand without saying what she did in front of Sadie.

"No worries." Violet says, as she looks down at her phone, and turns pale as a ghost. That's when she starts walking backwards."I need to go! Bye Sadie! Bye Shawn!" She says, before turning around and starting to run for her life.

We laugh, and turning back to Sadie, she asks me, "Just a question. How did you find out where my school is?"

"Remember when you gave me your mum's contact, so I could send her the details to where we were going on that family night?" I ask, and I couldn't help but feel a jolt inside of me as I remembered that night.

"Yes."

"So, I asked your mother, and she told me where it was. She was so nice to me, she even offered me to stay at your house." I don't know what made her feel like that, but she looked surprised.

"Oh really?" She says, her eyebrows raised.

"Yes. But I don't want to disturb anyone. Probably it would be irritating to hear a guitar all day round. In the hotel which I am staying at, I rented this conference room where I can go anytime when I want to compose. And it is a hotel that your mother suggested me to stay at because it is very close to your house. So it doesn't make a big difference right?"

"Yeah, you're right. But just know that you wouldn't be disturbing. My parents are always working, and the only person who would hear you playing would be Marta, the cleaning lady." She says, pulling me over to where she had dropped her backpack. "Anyways, I am going home now. You're coming, or do you want to rest? I'm sure you're tired."

"Nah, I'm fine. I'll come with you."

***

Stepping inside Sadie's house and feeling the cold air of the turned on air conditioning, I couldn't help but sigh of relief.

"God Sadie, you were right. This city is so hot!" I say. It was really hot outside, the day resembling a Summer day in Pickering. Or worse. I don't remember ever having such a hot day.

"Yes. And we are in the middle of the Winter. Imagine how it is in the Summer?" She says, her expression saying that it wasn't pleasant at all. "Good thing is that I can go to the pool the whole year round."

Passing through the kitchen which was from where we entered, I greet the cook/ cleaning lady by saying "good afternoon", however, she throws me a quizzical look.

Right. Different country, different language.

Sadie steps forwards, talking to her in words I didn't understand. She then says my name as she gestured to me, and guessing that she was introducing me, I grin. Marta nods in aknowledgement in a polite way, and after Sadie says something more, she nods again, and turns around, continuing to dry a plate with a cloth.

"What did you say to her?" I ask, feeling slightly useless.

"I was explaining that you don't know how to speak the same language as her and that you were trying to say "good afternoon". I also said that you are my friend." She said, gesturing her head to a door. "I also asked her to bring us some snacks. I'm so hungry, the school food was horrible today."

Opening the door, I find myself in a large living room, couches and a huge TV in a corner, a dining table in the other. Here, the air was even colder, and I guessed that the cool air from the kitchen had come from here. The TV was on, and a woman was sitting on the coach, a computer on her lap.

"Mum! Look who's here!" Sadie says beaming, capturing the woman's attention. Making eye contact with me, she smiles. Mrs.Salvay is very different from Sadie. While Sadie has dark hair and eyes, Mrs. Salvay has blonde hair and blue eyes. Nevertheless, the resemblence between the two of them is still there.

"Shawn, you're here! I am so happy to finally meet you personally. You know, with my daughter speaking so well of you, I knew I had to meet you." She says warmly, with an obvious British accent.

"It's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Salvay." I say, smiling.

"We're going up to my room, ok?" Sadie says, and her mother nods, turning back to her computer. Sadie leads me up some stairs, and we turn right, entering the first door to the right.

Her room is very big; big enough to have a queen sized bed in the middle of a wall, and plenty of more space to put a digital piano, a huge bookshelf filled with books, a desk and a wardrobe. The walls are all white, which made a good contrast with the colourful books and her bedding. In one wall in front of the bed, there is a TV. The window is large, taking up a full wall, which I could see led to a small balcony.

"Where are my posters?" I tease, looking at her with false sadness.

"Nowhere." She says, rolling her eyes. "But you're here in this photo." She picks up a photo in which Sadie and I were next to each other, smiling to the camera, the silhouette of the Empire State Building as the background. The last picture we took."Ella gave it to me. She had it on her camera, and as she wanted to print every photo she that she took, she ended up printing this one too, and gave it to me."

She puts the frame down on its place, and sits on the corner of her bed. Following her, I sit next to her. "Thank you so much for coming. You don't know how much you're making me feel better." She says, smiling.

"No problem. But do you know what will make things even better?" I ask, standing up and picking up the guitar I had given her, that was standing up with a thing supporting it. Smiling at her and strumming a random chord, I sit back down next to her."So, what do I play?"

"Um..." She mumbles, thinking. "There is this song that you haven't played for a while now."

"Which is?"

"Imagination." She says.

"Then Imagination it is." I say, starting to play the first chords. Initially, I was the only one singing, Sadie observing me. But after a while, she joined in, and we sang together. She had a beautiful voice, and our voices blended, we sounded amazing. I still didn't know how she could think that she has a horrible voice.

Throughout the song, it was as if we were connected, the strong bond that already was between us becoming stronger and stronger. And the best thing was that I could see the fog that clouded her eyes disappearing; the sparkle, returning; and her smile, widening.

Suddenly, I am taken back to my birthday, remembering what Aaliyah had said about me being in love with Sadie.

I think that it might be happening. I think that I might be falling for Sadie.

***

Sadie's POV:
Little by little, I could feel the weight that was weighing down on my heart lift. Everything that made me happy was right here: music, the sound of the guitar, his presence, his voice, his smile, the passion that he always sings with. This made me forget about everything, too focused on this perfect moment.

Shawn finishes, plucking the last few strings. "So? Didn't this make you feel better?" He asks, and I nod.

"It did. You always know how to make me feel better." I answer smiling. Someone knocks at my already slightly open door, and once I let them in, Marta comes in carrying a tray. Putting it down next to me on my bed, I see that there is cake.

"Yes, cake! Thank you Marta!" I say in her language, and she smiles, saying "you're welcome". I notice Shawn struggling, not knowing how to say thank you, and I laugh. "I'll have to give you a crash course on the local language."

"Yes please. I sure as hell do." He says, laughing too. After eating our pieces of cake in a blink of an eye, Shawn and I stay the whole afternoon talking, me trying to teach him some simple words, and him, failing. It was funny, watching him try to pronounce the words with his cute accent. For once, I felt myself again. And it was good to be back.

***

"Finally, we're done!" Sean says, as we hear our song for the final time. It really had stayed awesome.

"Don't forget that we still have to perform." Bree reminds us.

"I think we will be fine." Nick says.

Waiting for Mr. Brown to come here and us to join the other group in the other classroom, we bring our chairs together, chatting. I had really got attached to them all. We were a great team, and we got along very well.

"So you are all coming to my party next week, aren't you?" Aria asks, and everyone nods, except me. I try to smile, but this doesnMt work."Sadie! You're not going?"

"Look, I'm still not sure ok? I don't really like parties and-"

"But it is my fifteenth birthday Sadie. Please? I want my friends there with me, and I really want you to come!" She says pleadingly, making me feel a pang of guilt.

Fifteenth brithdays are taken very seriously here. Girls make huge parties, in which they give a theme, sometimes being as big as weddings. There is a huge cake, the girl wears an expensive dress, and everyone has to wear formal clothes. But at the same time, it is a party, with blasting bad music, people making out everywhere, and people grinding on the dance floor.

My mum wanted to do one for me, but I wouldn't let her spend so much money on something that would make me be the centre of attention for a night ( which I shivered just thinking about it), and that I would be bored throughout. I would be forced to waltz with high heels, which was not a good idea. So no thank you. Besides, who would I invite?

"It's just that I have a friend from far away visiting, and I would really like to spend the time I have with him while he is over. But I'll really think about it, ok?" I feel like a crappy friend, but I absolutely hate parties. And what I said was true, too.

"He can go too, if that's what it takes for you to come." Aria says, taking out a piece of paper and a pen. "I'll just need his full name, and he will have to bring his ID ok?"

"Thanks. I'll ask him if he wants to go, I'm not shre if he even wants to. But his name is Shawn Peter Raul Mendes." I say the names separately, so she has time to write each one down. At the last one, she stops, putting the pen down and looking at me.

"You're kidding right?" Aria asks. "Shawn Mendes is really going to my party?" She says, a smile appearing on her lips.

"I- I'm not sure, ok? I don't even know if he would like to go."

"Oh my god, could I meet him? I am a huge fan! I mean, I'm not the most dedicated fan, but I love his songs!"

"I guess you can..." I say, feeling a slightly better friend for making her this happy.

The door opens suddenly, Mr. Brown poking his head inside, telling us to go to the other classroom.

"Okay guys, so firstly, I would like to congratulate both groups. The songs stayed outstanding! Definite A+s if this had been your exam." Mr. Brown says, smiling. I couldn't help but feel a small spark of pride glowing inside of me.

"Now, I wanted to tell you guys about the performance. I decided to change things a bit. You guys did so well, that I don't think that presenting them in class will be good enough. That's why I talked to the headmaster, and asked him to let you present in the academic awards ceremony, which will happen next week!"

Some people cheer, and some people start asking Mr. Brown for more details, but I stay there, frozen on the spot.

I never had performed in front of a big crowd before. The biggest crowd I had performed to was for the people in the streets, when Shawn and I had sang back in NY, him carrying me in his back. But it had been different then. The awards ceremony was with everyone from grades 5 to the seniors, which wasn't as much as typical schools, but still very much. And that's when I knew.

I was doomed.
