Hi!
A chapter right after another! Yay!

So this chapter has a song, and it is "Million Words" by The Vamps. I left the lyric video up there^ I don't know if you actually go and listen the songs that I suggest here (with the exception of Shawn's songs, of course), but I would really like if you did. The way this song fits with how Shawn is feeling in this chapter is so incredible! Here is a part of the lyrics:

I remember you were standing in my doorway,
And the words were on my lips, that you never looked so beautiful

Doesn't this ring so many bells to when they were still in NY? I could really put all the lyrics of this song here, because every single word would fit in perfectly. But I will save you from that.

Hope you like it! :)
Xxx,
Sara

Sadie's POV:

Sitting in the side room which is packed with keyboards and computers, I watch, feeling more useless than ever, the rest of the group chatting about some party, and not even touching their instruments.

"Welcome to Music lessons." Aria mumbles, looking just as lost as I am. Apparently not everyone that chose the subject are as passionate towards it as I thought they would be, because they don't show any signs of wanting to start doing the work anytime soon.

"Is it always like this?" I ask Aria, and looking at me sympathetically, she nods.

"I am always the person who does the whole work. They only talk." She sighs.

"Well, I will try to help, but I don't think I will be much of a help." I say, feeling bad for her.

Standing up and getting a blank piece of paper, Aria starts writing down the names of everyone in the group. Sighing, she scribbles over the names she wrote down and drops the pen, shaking her head. "We're doomed."

Bored, and not knowing what to do, I walk over to a keyboard, and turn it on. I didn't really know what I was doing. I just started playing random songs I had memorized, and then the next thing I know, I am playing random keys. Playing them repeatedly and adding some chords, the world fades away around me just as it does everytime I play, and I am lost in this melody that I somehow created out of the blue.

Getting fed up of repeating this pattern over and over again, I stop, sighing. With the sudden silence of my keyboard, I notice that the chattering died out, too. Looking up, I notice all of my group members' eyes on me, Aria's with a new sparkle of hope.

"Sadie, we can use that! This is great! I didn't know you were this good!" She exclaims, beaming.

"Thanks, but I don't really know what I'm doing..." I say.

"Aria is right. This is awesome! For the first time in forever, we have something good to start with." Nick says, nodding. He is brunette and has brown eyes, and I know him from my homeroom, but I never really spoke to him. I always saw him as the class's jokester.

"Hands up who votes Sadie as group captain!" Sean says raising his own arm, and surprisingly, all arms go up. Right, so I am in charge, without asking for it. Just great.

"So what do we do now?" Bree asks me expectantly.

"Um..." I mumble, not knowing what to do. I try to think this as just another project. What would I do first? Sort out who does what.

"We need to sort the tasks. Well, I think we should start by knowing who will play what. What do you guys play?" I ask. "I play the piano and the guitar, however I would prefer staying with the piano. Much safer." I add.

"Don't worry, you can stay there. I'll play the guitar." Sean says, and I nod. Do all Shawns/Seans ever known to mankind know how to play the guitar?

"Nick?" I turn to him.

"I play the drums. And obviously, Aria will sing, correct? I mean, normally she always is the only one that is willing to do so." He says, and I look at Aria, who is chuckling. Now I remember. Didn't Aria star in the school play? Yes, I am pretty sure she did.

"And you Bree?" I ask, turning to her. Unlike Aria, who has long dark brown hair, she has shorter, curlier hair, which also is dark.

"Well, I only play the piano, but you are already playing it, so I guess I'll stay with the shaker-"

"No! I don't mind sharing it. And we never know how this song will turn out. Maybe we will need a synthesizer. We'll sort that out later." I say assuringly, and she nods smiling, happy with the fact that she won't have to stay with the shaker.

Suddenly the door opens, and Mr. Brown comes in. "So how is the work going?" He asks.

Everyone looks at me to answer, so I do. "Well, I guess." I say, trying to be as positive as I can.

"Could you show me what you've got?" He asks, and again, everyone in my group looks expectantly at me, waiting me to play what I had created. Turning to the keyboard, I take a deep breath and clutch the key around my neck, trying to calm myself. Pressing the keys in the keyboard, I play what I had created, and when I am done, I look at Mr.Brown, who is smiling and nodding approvingly.

"That's an awesome start. Did you come up with that, Sadie?" He asks, and before I can try to say that it was group work, everyone says yes. "Well, that just proves that I was right. Good job." He says, leaving the room to check up on the other group again. I didn't know why this comment made me so happy, made me feel acomplished: like I had finally done something right.

***

"Please don't say-"

"I told you." Shawn cuts me. I glare at him, and he chuckles. "What? I did tell you that you would do great!"

"I do hope it was not just beginner's luck, though." I say, changing the hand that is holding my phone, as the other one started getting tired. "Now, why don't we stop talking about me. How are you? Did you manage to start "Something Big" this time without accidentaly playing "Aftertaste" instead?" I ask.

"Yeah, things are fine. I just can't believe that in two more days I'm off to tour again." Something cathes his attention, and he nods towards someone. "I am sorry Sadie, I really need to go. Talk to you later, ok?" He says with an apologetic look, and I nod.

"Sure. Bye!" I smile.

"Bye!" He says back, and the screen goes black.

This week back to school seemed to drag, but finally, Friday finally arrived. The song composition was going well; we had already started with the lyrics. Jason has hanged a lot with us, and I discovered that he was quite nice and that I actually enjoyed his company.

Leaving and getting stuff in my locker, I sense someone approaching me. I look to my left, and there was Jason. "Oh, hi." I say, turning back to the agenda in my hands, which told me which notebooks I had to take home to do my homework.

"So, what are you doing today?" He asks, and I shrug.

"Probably I will do all my homework. I like to do everything today so I won't have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend." I look down at the agenda, and as the pleasant thought of getting rid of all of the work comes to my mind, I get determined to work. "Maybe, I will even finish that project which is due next Thursday." I say.

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to do something." He says.

"Oh, sure. Who's going?" I ask, still not facing him, trying to take a notebook from the bottom of the pile.

"Um, I was thinking it would be just the two of us."

These words get me by surprise, making me nearly drop the notebook I finally managed to take from the bottom. I finally turn to him.

"Look, Jason I'm sorry, you're really nice and all, but I don't think I would be comfortable if it is just the two of us." I say awkwardly.

"It doesn't have to be a date! I mean, you are the person I got closest to here in this school, and I just wanted to hang out and do something. We would go just as friends." He says, and I see the pleading in his eyes.

"Just as friends?" I ask him to reconfirm, remembering how it was hard coming to a new school and making friends. I felt bad for how he had been welcomed by everyone. Basically all the girls were all over him, only interested in flirting, and because of that, the boys didn't talk to him, mad that the girls were only paying attention to him.

He nods, and sighing, I finally agree. "Ok, I'll go. Text me the details. I have to get going, my driver is waiting for me." Forcing a last notebook between two others into my backpack, I close it and slide it over my shoulder.

"Sure. Thanks Sadie! See you later then." He says.

"See ya." I say back, walking towards the gates I exit at.

Shawn's POV:

"You're kidding, right? Isn't that a little too much?" Sadie asks, incredulous. "Excuse the pun."

"No! I was just there, performing normally, and out of nowhere someone chucks a water bottle at me!" I say, and not controling anymore, she burts out laughing. "This is not funny!" I say.

"I'm sorry, but I just can't stop imagining you, there on stage, singing something like "take your shot it might be scary" and a bottle comes flying towards you!" She resumes her laughing, and even though I try my best to keep a straight face, I start laughing too. Her laughs are too contagious.

"Oh, I can't do this stuff anymore." She says still laughing, closing the notebook in her hands and throwing it somewhere. "Talking to you is way better."

"Sadie Salvay is ditching her homework?" I say, widening my eyes and putting a hand to my chest.

"Just because it's you." She says.

"Oh, now it all makes sense." I roll my eyes and gesture my hands, as if it was the most obvious thing ever, which made her chuckle. The laughing dies out, and she looks at something in the corner of her computer screen, making the smile disappear from her face and her raise her hand to her mouth.

"Shoot! I completely forgot!" She says, standing up and leaving me with the view of her pillows and her bed frame. I knew she was still there, so I spoke.

"Forgot what?"

"I am supposed to meet Jason in, like, 10 minutes!" She says, and I hear a sound of a wardrobe door sliding open.

"Jason?" I ask, feeling unsettled by this news flash.

"The new kid I told you about." She answers, and the wardrobe slides shut with a thud.

"Who else is going?" I ask, feeling that I knew the answer, but still dreading it.

"No one." There is a silence, and I felt an emotion that I suspected was jealousy stirring inside of me.

"Is it... A date?" I manage to ask.

"No, of course not! I mean, I only met him this week. Besides, even if I knew him more, I probably wouldn't still go on a date." I feel relief flooding me, making the brewing emotion dim down. But it was still there.

"Why wouldn't you?" I manage to ask. There is another silence, but she finally answers.

"I... kind of like someone already."

A pang of hope hits me with a huge jolt, making my heart beat faster against my chest. However, I still couldn't shake the image that had formed in my mind of Sadie alone with this Jason guy; him slipping his hand in hers, his arm draped around her shoulders, him leaning in for a kiss... Stronger than ever, the jelousy comes back.

"Are you sure it is just as friends?" I ask.

"Yes, I think I made it quite clear."

"How clear?"

After the words leave my mouth, I hear some footsteps, and suddenly, she appears again. She is wearing another shirt now, and reassuringly, the necklace I gave her is hanging rounder neck.

"Clear enough to refuse first, but then say yes when he explained I was really the only friend he made." She says, a smile playing along her lips. She opens her mouth to say something, but then hesitates.

"Are you jealous?" She asks slowly, a smirk on her lips. Certainly yes, I think.

"Maybe." I answer playfully. "Just know that if he tries something on you that ends up hurting you, the guy is the same thing as dead." I say, maintaining a small, innocent smile in my lips.

"Good to know." She laughs, and now more than ever, I just wished I could be there, next to her, and not on the other side of the screen. Wished I was the one she was going to hang out with; not Jason. "I'm sorry, I really have to go. Good concert tonight!"

"Thanks! I'll talk to you later on. Bye!" I say, and after she waves back, the screen goes black. Sighing, I try to wipe the image that was now tatooed on my mind, but it doesn't seem like it is leaving anytime soon.

This all could have been different. What if I had told her that I liked her the moment that I had realized what I felt? Or at least, what if I had told her at the airport?

But no. I had to screw up everything.

I know that she told me that this thing she is doing today with Jason was just as friends, but what if it changes? Feelings change.

We are now thousands of miles apart, and I didn't tell her all the things that I should have told her.

Feeling an idea forming in my head and a wave of inspiration hitting me, I feel slightly more hopeful.

I will tell Sadie the truth, face to face, no matter what. Now I'm touring, so I can't do much about that. But I know just the right place from where to start.
