Odell POV-
Kenya was tutoring me today and I was going to wait to the end of the session to ask her to come hang. Just so we could get to know each other better.
I have never, been this drawn to a girl in my life. Maybe it was the challenge. The fact that she didn't fall at my feet like everybody else. I don't know what it was, but I had to learn more about her. Be around her a little more.
Good." She looked over my work as she corrected it.
We were in the tutoring center and our session was almost over.
What she did to help me out was, take ten problems. Break them down in steps until we got the final answer. Let me review and memorize them. Then basically regurgitate what She had written.
It would help me in getting the basic mechanics down. Before, we went into me doing problems on my own. Surprisingly it was helpful.
"On this one just remember the x." She pointed to the one problem I messed up.
I looked over the practice problems she corrected.
"I made you a few practice problems, just to try on your own. So we can see where your deficiency is." She handed me the paper.
"If you need anything else. Just let me know." She got her bookbag and was about to leave.
Now was my chance. My heart was beating out of my chest, but I pushed myself to be brave. She wouldn't reject just hanging would she? Especially since we went all the way to NOLA together. That makes us semi-cool right?
"I was gonna grab something to eat you hungry?" I said grabbing his things.
"No I'm good."
I sighed and decided to try again.
"It's the least I can do for you helping me."
"I'm okay. I have studying of my own I need to do."
"Well I can drive you back to your dorm."
"It's just a couple of blocks. I can walk. But thank you." She grabbed her bag and walked out.
"Ey Kenya." I called after her.
She turned around and I walked up to her.
"I umm..." I cleared my throat. It was like the words couldn't come
Out. "I was...just gonna say can we change next Thursday to Wednesday instead."
"That's fine."
There was an awkward moment of silence.
"Did you want something else or..."
"No."
"Okay. See you then." She turned around and walked out the building.

I laid in my bed in the dark staring at the ceiling. I had to be the biggest loser ever. Do you know how many girls, I've finessed in my life?
And here I'm in front of Kenya and nothing would come out.
Why did I care?
I could go through my phone right now, and any girl I called would answer and be willing and ready to meet where I said.
Why did I care?
Droves of girls recognize me on campus and come and talk to me without me saying a word.
Why did I care?
I am Odell Cornelious Beckham Jr, future NFL hall of famer.

I don't know and that's the frustrating part of all of it.
Why was I sitting in my room in the dark when Juice and my team was out partying?

I threw a shirt on my bed and the wall.
I covered my eyes, then turned on the light and reached for my phone.
I dialed her number. My heart raced like someone was chasing me as I waited for her to answer.
"Hello."
I couldn't say anything.
"Hello?"
Still no words.
"Odell?"
I quickly hung up. I can't do this. I dialed Sophie.
"Hey baby. I haven't heard from you in a while thought you forgot me." She said in a flirty voice.
"Never that. So what you on tonight? I was trying to come through." She knew what I wanted.
"I'll be waiting."
I smirked. "Aight."
We hung up and left to get Kenya off my mind.
Kenya POV-
Brandon and I were sitting in the student lounge when we heard a group of loud voices laughing.
We looked and it was O, some of his football buddies and a group of girls that were practically drooling over them.
O looked at me, but didn't speak and kept his focus on the girl whose hand he was holding.
They all sat on the other side of the room. The girl sat on his lap and he kissed her cheek.
"We can go back to my dorm." I got my stuff.
"No bitch, we were here first, they don't own shit." Brandon said loud, where they could hear.
They looked over.
"Don't draw attention to us." I tried to get him to calm down.
"Ain't nobody scared of they asses."
I sighed.
"You got something to say faggot say it to our faces." One of the dudes said.
"I said y'all ain't won a game since the season started. When your monkey ass win a game then, step to me. Until then, don't say shit to me. You don't own shit around here."
"Brandon." I tried to stop him.
"Mack." Odell held his hand out to stop him as he stood up.
"Keep talking to me, my foot gon be farther up your ass then them dicks be." The dude said.
"Trust me your little dick or foot couldn't fit. Wack ass Bitch. Come on Kenya." Brandon grabbed me and we left out.
As we got in the hallway. We bursted into laughter.
"Uhhh... Hate them pea brained mutha-fuckas." Brandon said.
I shook my head. "And you see how O acted like he didn't know me? I'm doing him a favor and he acts like that? I'm over it."
"Oh I was waiting for him to say some
Shit. I wouldn't be like yeah, you bae and yeah you fine, but don't make me go in on your handicapped ass." Brandon said.
I laughed.
"Kenya." O came in the hall walking toward me.
I ignored him and kept walking fast.
He ran up to me and grabbed my arm. I snatched it.
"I'm sorry about that. They ignorant." He looked at me and Brandon.
"No you are. And I'm done tutoring you. Find somebody else."
"K." He called behind us.
But me and Brandon left him in our dust.
