The next morning, Micky woke Mike up with a surprise.
"Good morning," Micky smiled. He brought Mike breakfast in bed, along with some new records and a new wool hat. Green, Mike's favorite.
Mike didn't say anything. He looked up at Micky with wide eyes.
"I, um..." Micky cleared his throat. "You were...away...for your birthday so I thought I'd make a makeshift celebration. Better late than never, right?"
Mike looked down. He picked up the wool hat and Micky beamed, thinking he'd like it.
Mike looked up at Micky again.
"I don't wear these anymore."
