I'm sorry if I seem uninterested
Or I'm not listenin' or I'm indifferent
Truly, I ain't got no business here
But since my friends are here
I just came to kick it but really
I would rather be at home all by myself not in this room
With people who don't even care about my well-being
You hated these stupid after parties people were always drunk and trying their best to get you to hook up with them only to forget your name a couple hours later.
But matter of fact if your friend didn't win that stupid Grammy you never would've been here and that would've been just fine with you.
You were currently sitting alone after your friend had ditched you to go talk to Jason Derulo and Tyga. Which you really didn't understand because to you they were just normal people just like everybody else except they just so happened to be rich and talented.
Someone bumped into you interrupting yours thoughts while spilling his drink on you.
"Oops.."He slurred indicating that he had already had way to much to drink tonight.
You roll your eyes as you reach for a dry napkin on the table to wipe off some of the liquor that had spilled on you.
"Hh-ey did yhuu waant to dance?" The man slurred drinking the rest of whatever it was that made you sick.
"No." You bluntly reply wishing this guy would just leave you alone.
"Fine your loss, hoe." He angrily replied stomping off back towards the bar.
You roll your eyes once again not letting that guy's stupid ratchet personality get the better of you. You continue to sit there wishing that your friend would come back so that y'all could bounce.
In the distance you could hear someone yelling, "YEAH MAN, WE BOUT TO TURN UP IN THIS MOTHER!!"
I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend
So you can go back, please enjoy your party
I'll be here, somewhere in the corner under clouds of marijuana
With this boy who's hollering I can hardly hear
Over this music I don't listen to and I don't wanna get with you
So tell my friends that I'll be over here
"Great..."
you think as you rub your temples.
"How did I get into this mess?"
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here
Your inner turmoil was interrupted once again when someone randomly plopped themselves next to you.
"You don't like these kind of events do you?" He asks drinking what looked like water but you really couldn't be sure with these group of people running rapid.
"How could you tell?" You sarcastically reply.
"By the way your sitting here by yourself looking like you wish you could strangle everyone in here." He says knowingly but with a little smirk.
Excuse me if I seem a little unimpressed with this
An anti-social pessimist but usually I don't mess with this
And I know you mean only the best and
Your intentions aren't to bother me
But honestly I'd rather be
Somewhere with my people we can kick it and just listen
To some music with the message (like we usually do)
"Okay well if you got that vibe from me why are you sitting here talking to me?" You snap back.
"I don't know, thought it was interesting how your the only one in here not totally wasted or turnt up." He says slouching back a bit.
"Yeah well I don't like these type of surroundings..I like peace and quiet." You admit shrugging your shoulders a bit wondering exactly why you were explaining this to him.
"Yeah i'm more like that now..I used to be just like them though." He says sounding like he was thinking back to when he was a complete party man and or druggie.
"Okay..well thanks for the info but I really wish my friend was here for I can leave." You honestly say as you scan the room in hopes of finding her.
And we'll discuss our big dreams
How we plan to take over the planet
So pardon my manners, I hope you'll understand it
That I'll be here
Not there in the kitchen with the girl
Who's always gossiping about her friends
So tell them I'll be here
Right next to the boy who's throwing up 'cause
He can't take what's in his cup no more
Oh God why am I here?
"Nah I get it you don't want me here.." He says sincerely.
You frown a bit realizing you were coming off as a bit rude. "Hey i'm sorry..it's not like that but i'm not like those girls over there gossiping about how J Lo's butt or how Taylor Swift just broke up with another one of her boyfriends..because honestly I don't care."
He let out a laugh amused to see that you were completely serious.
"BLEGGHHHH!"
You could hear someone just puke and it was followed by a lady screaming.
"YOU RUINED MY 75,000 DOLLAR DRESS YOU PRICK!"
You shake your head as the guy next to you continues to laugh at what was happening. "Yup and they call Detroiters Classless." The guy mumbles.
"You from Detroit?" You ask suddenly curious.
"Yeah." He says a bit dumbfounded.
You think for a minute realizing this guy looked familiar and was from Detroit..
"Oh wait your Eminem right?" You say suddenly recognizing the man.
"Yup, in the flesh but just call me Marshall okay?" He says gesturing to himself.
"Well nice to meet you I guess..your the only one in here that seems to have some self control." You admit checking the time and realizing y'all were supposed to leave like a hour ago.
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here
"Yeah same to you." He nods taking another sip of his drink.
"Well i'ma go find my friend." You say getting up from the booth.
"Ight, but before you do that, here take this." He says handing you a slip of paper.
"What's this?" You ask bewildered.
"In case you ever get bored and you need someone to talk to." He says.
"Okay." You take the piece of paper and put it in your purse.
You call your friend and unfortunately she's not replying and your head was starting to ache from all the smoke and loud noises that seemed to captivated the entire room.
"She didn't answer?" Marshall asks seeing the frustrated look on your face.
"No..hey can you do me a favor and tell her i'll be in the car?"
"Sure sweet heart, what's her name?" He says.
"It's Tori Kelly." You say pointing over to the girl currently dancing with Trey Songz.
"Thanks."
Hours later congregating next to the refrigerator
Some girl's talking 'bout her haters
She ain't got none
How did it ever come to this
I shoulda never come to this
So holla at me I'll be in the car when you're done
I'm standoffish, don't want what you're offering
And I'm done talking
Awfully sad it had to be that way
So tell my people when they're ready that I'm ready
And I'm standing by the TV with my beanie low
Yo I'll be over here
You make your way out the door into the parking lot about to get in the car when you realize you don't even have the keys to get in.
"How lovely." You mutter.
"Hey!" A voice echo's throughout the parking lot.
You turn around to see that it was Marshall running up to you. "Your friend told me to drive you home, and I never got your name?" He says through breaths.
"Oh alright, and i'm Y/N." You say.
"Nice to see you again Y/n, you ready to go?" He asks while walking me to his car.
"I've been ready."You smile hopping in his car glad that you could escape the atmosphere and ride with someone who made you feel a lot less irritated.
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
