FF 3 WEEKS>>>>>
Ruby's P.O.V:
Nie-mo was sitting watching TV with Jensen snuggled up on the couch, Norman was in the bath and I offered to make dinner for everyone. I was chopping away happily when a wave of nausea ran through me I had to stop chopping and lean against the counter as I felt dizzy. It soon passed though, I hoped I wasn't coming down with anything, that was the last thing I needed right now. I continued on making dinner which was vegetable fajitas. I missed my chicken and fish. With that thought I figured out exactly what was wrong with me. My body wasn't getting the supplements it needed
'Hey Jensen is there a Pharmacy around here?' I called out a few moments later both him and Kenzie came through
'Are you okay?' Kenzie asked taking a seat on the stool
'I am fine I just got a wave of nausea and dizziness, at first I was hoping I wasn't getting sick but then I thought about it, were not getting all the right supplements, I mean Jensen you must be feeling different not eating meat in how long?'
'Ugh I guess if I am honest I have had a few spells where I feel rather.... off I guess.' he admitted Kenzie looked to him
'Why didn't you tell me?' she asked he shrugged it off
'I figured it was nothing to worry about.' he looked to her she took his hand 'So you wee thinking pharmacy run and try to find some supplements?' he asked looking to me I nodded
'And while we were out we could swing by the boat yard and collect some fuel I noticed we were slowly getting low.'
'We still have a week or two but yes might as well while we are out anyway. Okay well talk it over with Norman and we can do that tomorrow?'
'Okay great thanks.'
'You sure you are okay? You do look a bit off.'
'I am fine Hun don't worry, inner will be soon so go wash up.' she nodded and made her way up stairs.
The next morning we hit the road heading for one of the small towns that surrounded this huge forest. It took us near fifty minutes to reach the small town of Santa Ana, it was so run down, I didn't expect to find much of anything here.
'The pharmacy is at the other side of town.' Jensen told Norman,just pretty much follow this road until I say otherwise.' Norman nodded and done as Jensen told him to.
A further five minutes and we were parked outside a small shopping centre
'The pharmacy is in there, to the left, You girls want to go get stuff, Norman you and I can collect some supplies yeah?'
'Okay.'
'Have you both got your weapons?' Norman asked looking in his rear view
'Check never leave home without it.' I grinned he flashed me a smile and we got out the car going our separate ways.
'That reminds me, we need more feminine supplies Melissa had them all in the camper so she is set.' Kenzie said 'And I am about due I think, I kind of lost track of dates and days of the week but I feel like I am about due.' I looked to Kenzie bug eyed 'What did I say something wrong?' I shook my head
'Roughly what do you think today’s date is?' I asked her. I saw her figuring it out in her head and using her fingers.
'Well comic con started on the 18th of July all this started on day three which was the 20th which was about a month ago so say its around 18th to 20th of August now, why?'
'A whole month?' she nodded 'My period was due on the 6th of august Kenzie, I haven't had nothing.'
'Shit me either, but I was all over the place anyway and I swear I have one coming.... wait a minute what the hell You have been feeling tenacious and dizzy Ruby....'
'I know.' I said trying not to cry.' Kenzie linked arms with me and we went into the pharmacy she rooted around in the feminine hygiene section while I kept watch, she reappeared a few moments later.
'Here go now, there is a bathroom one there I saw it on the way in.' she told me I took the digital test and made my way to the bathroom, this can't be happening. I peed on the stick and replaced the cap washing my hands and walking back out to Kenzie who was at the door keeping watch.
'Well?' she asked I shrugged 'not looked yet I am to scared, what if it's positive?'
'Well then we deal.' I nodded I didn't know how we would deal but I couldn't think about that right now. I raise my hand and look at the screen pregnant with a happy smiley face.
'I-I I'm pregnant Kenzie.' I fell to the floor
'Hey come on now.' Kenzie dropped beside me and pulled me into a hug
'How could I be so stupid.'
'You are not stupid okay, it happens, now I hate to be the one to say this but you do have a choice, we can find pills or prenatal vitamins?' I looked at her 'Sorry but I am just saying your options I know how you feel about them but the option is there is all I am saying.' he told me I nodded
'No it's not an option, it's not.' I stood up just as Norman and Jensen walked in I quickly hid the test and smiled
'Babe are you okay, have you been crying?' Norman asked coming up to me wrapping me in a hug
'Yea I uh I am fine...'
'We got to talking about back home and uh she got upset.' Kenzie covered for me
'Aww baby as soon as we can we will find out if your family are okay.' he told me I nodded
'I know just a moment of weakness I am fine honest.' I smiled Norman eye me suspiciously but then nodded
'Did you find what you need?'
'Nope, why don't you scavenged the rest of this place and we will continue to look?' Kenzie suggested the guys agree and took off while I got rid of the stick. We stripped the pharmacy of all it's supplements even the prenatal ones.
'What if the guys ask?' I asked Kenzie
'We will just say we took everything and anything.' she said I nodded
'Thanks Nie-mo you are a super star really.'
'I am just doing what any friend would, but you know Norman needs to know.' I nodded
'I know he does, I will tell him at home not here.'
'Okay come on then.'
We all gathered back in the car with the supplies the guys found which was more food and some warmer clothing for us all as they found a clothing section of the precinct. And now we were on our way to the boat yard.
'I just hope there is some fuel going about, if not we will need to get on the move again.' Jensen said
'Fingers crossed' Kenzie said crossing her fingers.
'Turn left here then go straight ahead for about 200 yards then turn right and follow the road down.' Jensen directed Norman.
We were soon at the boat yard, but everything was locked up tight.
'Shit, we can't get in without making a noise.' Jensen said running his hands through his hair.
'I think we might be safe dude there is no sign of any life living or dead.' Norman said
'Lets hope.' Jensen grabbed a rock and bashed the lock until it snapped open 'A little quieter than a gun.' he explained when he saw the looks of confusion on our faces why he didn't just use his gun. I nodded as he and Norman pulled the huge double doors open. Behind us a load of boats lay on the mud as the tide was out.
'There.' Norman grabbed a huge canister labelled fuel
'Is it full?'
'Yep unopened.'
'Look another.' Kenzie said pointing to the far corner of the boat shed Jensen grabbed it and he and Norman went to put them in the car.
'Shit Ruby look out.' Kenzie yelled I quickly turned and got very dizzy and the world went dark.
Kenzie's P.O.V:
I turned and saw a walker falling out of the boat, he was fast and was on his feet in no time.
'Shit Ruby look out.' I watched as Ruby turned to face him then down she went. I ran as the walker tried to make Ruby into a snack. I kicked him off as the guys returned Norman put a blade through his head as I knelt beside Ruby lifting her head it sounded like she banged it pretty hard when I heard it hit the floor from over the other side of the room.
'What happened?' Norman asked hurrying over to us
'She turned to get the walker and down she went.'
'Is she bleeding?' he asked referring to her head.
'No but she did hit it pretty hard. Jensen and Norman got her in the car I rested her head on my lap as we drove home as quickly as possible.
