"What is going on with you?" Natasha asked harshly, clearly growing frustrated with Steve's frenetic energy as they waited for Rumlow to give them the details of the rescue mission. "You haven't stopped moving since we boarded."
"Too much coffee," he sighed, shaking his arms and clapping his hands together a few times before absentmindedly flipping switches on the communications panel.
Nat reached out and grabbed his hands, pulling them down and firmly pressing them to his sides. She raised a hand and pointed at him, her expression as stern as possible given that she was fighting her own inner battle to not laugh at him.
"Stop. Fidgeting."
"I caaaan't," he whined, now hopping slightly on his feet. "How much longer before we get there? Are we ready to go over this or what? I'm ready. Are you ready?"
"Steve! Shut up!" she hissed through clenched teeth. "Rumlow, can we get this going please, before Cap becomes the first casualty?" She grabbed him roughly by the arm and dragged him to the monitor as the STRIKE team gathered around them and watched their leader run through the hostages and pirates on board.
"Any demands?"
"Billion and a half."
"Why so steep?"
Rumlow smirked and glanced at Steve, "because it's SHIELD's."
"You know, I'm getting a little tired of being Fury's janitor."
Natasha turned to look at Steve, whose energy was appearing to waver slightly, "relax, it's not that complicated." She continued to listen but her focus kept shifting to the Captain, hearing his foot tapping frantically against the jet floorboards. "Stop it," she growled under her breath.
"Alright, Nat, you kill the engine," he said, bouncing on his feet, pausing as if he were struggling to remember what he was trying to say.
"Wait for instructions."
She refused to look at him again, knowing it would only feed his behavior. If anyone could push her buttons, it was Steve Rogers; he was like the older brother that she never wanted.
"'Cause I'm in chaaaarge," he whined again, clearly enjoying every second of his newfound immaturity and its effect on her. Steve turned to her with a wide smile on his face and a laugh building in his chest. "Come on, don't look at me like that! This is gonna be fun, Romanoff! Let's move out!"
