This one will be longer.

A hand grabbed onto her shoulder, pulling her away from the tall guards. She stood against a man, troubled.

"What do you think you're doing, Andrew?"

A voice said to their right. Kira turned her head to see the scientist. His dark hair hanging by the side of his pale face. As always, his expression held no emotion. His dark Asian eyes void of any feeling, but held a glint of power.

"All you're doing is hurt this little kid. Don't you think that it's--"

The scientist narrowed his eyes, staring at the man's grayish eyes.

"Are you saying that you care for this girl?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

The man, Andrew, glared at his superior.

"Andrew, you work for me, therefore you must go along with my plans."

"Go along your plans?" His tone went a little high. "Why in the fucking world would I watch a girl get hurt?!"

"Maybe because you need money for your own daughter."

Andrew froze at the mention of his daughter.

"And there's nothing to be worried about, we're doing something different today."

Andrew barely heard the scientist, as he looked down at the girl next to her. A sweet, and innocent girl. Too innocent to get hurt, to be a guinea pig for these rotten scientists he had to work for.

It made him frown of how much she resembled his real daughter, or at least, how much she resembled her daughter before she was diagnosed with cancer.

Bright blue eyes, short brown hair.

It shook him, and that's what made him attached to her.

"You'll go into the chamber with her." The scientist said, leading the two.

"Sir, where are we going?"

He frowned in the inside.

"We're going to do a test."

"Test? What kind of test?"

Andrew frowned.

He hoped that his reflexes would be faster than light.

"You are to stand in a room with her. You have to pull a lever, that will drop a safe on her. The purpose of this test is to see if she is fast, or to see if there is an entity in her that actually obtains the gift. However, if the safe is about to hit her, you have to jump in and push her away. We are counting on you to save her, that is why you are chosen to be her guardian."

He had hoped that she wouldn't get hurt anymore.

No, he wished that she wouldn't get hurt, ever.

Like he used to wish for his own daughter, who had died the day after he passed himself. The day after their last test together.

* * *

"I always wanted to see you again."

He had dropped Jack onto the forest ground.

"But, ever since that last 'good night' you never came back."

"Who are you?" Kira asked, backing away as he slowly walked towards her.

He smiled, white teeth being displayed.

"Your old best friend."

"Why in the fucking nether are you having a conversation with the bad guy?!"

Kira made a face at the weird feeling of Ben's shrilly voice in her ear.

A dark mass produted behind him. It seemed to form a tentacle-like shape, much like Slenderman's tendrils.

More grew and suddenly sprang out to encase Kira. But she quickly acted, and put her hands in front of her, making them stop.

She started to close her hands, as if wrapping her fingers around something. The group of black separated into two groups, looking like it was tied like two pigtails.

She felt a three objects whiz past her. Two stabbed through the two tied groups of tentacles, Kira soon realizing that she was holding them, and broke through the thick mass. The tentacles fell into a pile onto the ground, exploding into dust and shards just at her feet.

The boy grew more tentacles, but as they slowly rose, the third object passed by all of them, as if being steered by a pilot. It cut the tentacles. The three objects then floated on top of Kira, then slwoly dropped into Kira's sheaths.

It was her daggers.

She was curious as to how they moved on their own.

She watched as the boy's thin lips frowned. She also watched as Jack slowly stood, going towards him.

"Distract him for me." He mouthed.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

He gave her the are you serious look. "I thought somebody hacked into our system and saw all of our plans?"

"Oh my god he knows!" Ben breathed into the earpiece, once again, making Kira shiver.

The purpose of this test is to see if she is fast, or to see if there is an entity in her that actually obtains the gift.

Jack quickly wrapped his arm around the boy's neck, securing him into a headlock. The boy grimaced, grabbing onto Jack's arm.

"Sweetie, this isn't the time for hugging me from the back."

Ben couldn't help but laugh through the electronic.

Jack growled and tightened his arm around him. The boy's face started to turn red from the lack of oxygen, so he used his black tentacles to get him off.

Jack stumbled back, but charged forward for him again. His fist colliding with his cheek, then sent his knee to his stomach. The boy dodge an upcoming punch by side stepping, smirking.

"Kira, do something."

Kira raised her hands again, focusing on the boy. She decided to do record a memory, something she learned how to do just a while ago. It was a short procedure, so she got to do something else.

It'll come in handy.

A nonexistent hand wrapped around the tentacles he was forming again, and another wrapped around his torso. Kira lifted him into the air, him struggling in her grasp.

She did something she didn't know that she would do. Something too extreme for her, even though she killed before.

She lifted him high up from the ground, her hands positioned as if she was about to swing down a hammer.

His body slammed down onto the ground, a loud crash echoing throughout the forest, the ground shaking from the impact of his body smacking against the dirt.

"Kira, what was that?"

Kira did it again, hearing one loud crack. She did it again, and again.

And again.

Hearing a rather satisfying crack, she put him down. Jack stared at her, almost afraid.

She looked down, expecting him to be dead. Or, at least unconscious, since he was someone like Kira.

But he was neither of the two. He smiled, his white teeth soaked by the blood that dripped from his forehead, down his face and into his mouth.

Of course.

Kira sighed, walking forward.

"Ben."

"Y-Yeah." Ben stuttered when he heard the emotionless tone.

"Do we... have to kill him?"

"I-I... it's your choice."

Kira reached for the earpiece, turning it off.

"Kira... Hahaha..." He just laughed, sitting up. "Kill me? Hehe..."

He stood up.

"It's hard for you to kill me."

"Hard, but possible." Jack said, walking forward.

The boy's tentacles sprang out again, and they moved wildly. They flailed in the air, but by a single tilt of his head, they were sent to Jack's way.

He was pushed back into a tree.

"Ugh, god damn tree." He muttered to himself.

But he noticed the rush of wind hitting his face, and the liquid on his cheeks getting colder.

Jack didn't know that the skin around his eyes could have widened the hole.

The wild mess of tentacles, some tangled within knots, went towards Kira. Kira had only a second to jump out of the way. Only now had she noticed the sharp edges of the mass, digging into the dirt on where she last stood.

They slip away from the ground, and went for her again. She jumped away, dodging the tangles of black mass. She had to do this for three more times, until she grabbed onto them and tried ripping them from his back. Her daggers except for one, once again, flew up and cut through the thick mass.

Through shards of black mass, they flew into the air, to the sky. They were so high up, Kira barely saw them falling down. Two feel and cut through the remainder of tentacles, then gave him a few cuts, then went back into her sheaths.

Except for one.

He held it in between his fingers. The black blade matching the black veins that had just appeared on his hands. He twirled it in his hand.

"I like this one."

He smirked devilishly, then forced another tentacle to grow. He gave it to it, it wrapping around the hilt, then suddenly launched it towards her.

Kira didn't expect a blur of black to go to her. No, she wasn't talking about the dagger. She was talking about the other person.

The boy who now stood in front of her, who just yelped as the blade pierced his palm. The black metal went through his hand, jutting out from the other side, as if only one of his hands were just bailed to the cross.

"Jack!" Kira screamed, looking over his shoulder.

She saw his cheek, not his blue mask.

She saw gray instead of blue.

Jack's mask lay broken on the ground, shattered from the black tentacles. Jack put his hand down, his other hand pulling out. He stiffened, muting his sounds of pain as extracted the weapon from his hand.

It was a bad idea, actually. The dagger was also keeping his hand from bleeding out. By pulling it out, it bled even more.

"Jack, wha--"

Jack charged forward with incredible speed. He held the dagger up, and by the time he was close enough, he brought it down onto his neck. The boy gurgled.

"Wha..."

He pulled out easily, his face void of any emotion. But his mind was full of anger, anger for his mask.

His bleeding hand held his shoulder as he brought it down again. Blood squirted onto his black hoodie.

"Hard to kill you, huh?"

Kira froze as she watched Jack stab his neck multiple times.

"You fucking cocky son of a bitch."

She certainly didn't see this side of him. She didn't see the angry side of Jack, only the stoic and silent side.

But she couldn't just leave the fact that his face was uncovered.

It was something she wanted to see, but definitely what she didn't expect.

His eye sockets were hallow, empty but the dripping black liquid. She can't help but just stare into them. Just, two black voids. How is he able to see? And what is that substance.

Without realizing, he had stopped. The boy's head dropped to the ground, rolling and rolling before reaching to a perfect stop in front of her. She looked down, despite that awful feeling in her gut telling her to not look, studying his features. He did, in fact, look familar. His red eyes were lifeless but they held memories she still hasn't remembered. She needs to see that memory, but she needs to go back with Jack first.

But she still kept staring.

His neck, or the skin and bone dangling underneath his head was the result of Jack's merciless onslaught. The blood made her sick, with its stench and small lumps of... whatever they were, floating in it, and she was sure she wanted to vomit. How cruel to go out like that.

And to think she snapped dozens of necks before.

"Look away, you might make it even more disgusting with your bile."

She jumped and looked back at Jack, who was currently facing her. His eye sockets immediately got her attention, making her go into trance. She shook her head. There's no time for that.

"Sorry, are you hurt?"

Stupid question. Of course he is.

"Not too much. How about you?" He stepped forward, his arm stretched out to hand her her dagger. She glanced at his bloody hand, concerned. Even though he's doing a simple action, holding objects with a hand that was stabbed will hurt. He'd need therapy.

She took the dagger, wiped the blood on his shirt and shook her head, "N-No. Just, shaken up a little," she avoided eye contact with the head.

Jack sighed and casually kicked the human body part away. She flinched as she heard it hit the tree. Of course, he wouldn't hesitate even if it were a head. He is a murderer, after all.

She sighed and reached into her pocket, taking the roll of gauze that Ben managed to sneak into her pants. How she does that, she doesn't know. Or wishes to know.

"Give me your hand," she said, grabbing the end of the bandage.

Jack took his glove off, his hand already shaking. She can't help but notice how his expression changed a bit. Nervous? She couldn't tell. She would have looked into his mind if it weren't for her kindness. She shouldn't invade his privacy.

"I don't really have anything to clean it," she said, "Ben, he just... he's sneaky. He got this in my pocket."

"He snuck a com into my pocket. I'm not surprised."

She chuckled. "That'll stop the bleeding, hopefully. We should head back. Do we need to do something with," she frowned, gulping. She glanced at the headless body of her supposed friend.

Jack shook his head.

"Okay..."

Kira started walking to the direction from which she came from. Exiting the clearing, she realized that she didn't hear Jack's footsteps. Is he light on his feet?

She looked back to see him staring at his bandaged hand, an indescribable look on his face. Her eyebrow arched in wonder, then she walked back.

"What's wrong?" She asked as she approached the taller boy.

He didn't answer. His silence shouldn't be making her nervous, but it did. She was about to speak again when his hand reached out and held the back of her neck. Before she coild react, he pulled her towards her.

Then she felt soft lips press against hers.

She froze, her face red as a tomato. Thoughts exploded in her mind and she felt strange feelings in her stomach. Her heart beated wildly as she just stood there, in shock.

But she couldn't help but close her eyes.

And kiss back.

Yay! Sad backstories! \^▼^/.

Oh, and Jira sailing. :3 you know, I was actually thinking of asking Leigh to read this. But apparently she's busy, and she actually told me to do whatever I want, as long as I still follow the notes.

So yeah, her notes specifically said to "Make Jira happen you fucktard." Idk why she also curses in her notes.

Hope you enjoyed

-Matt

Ps, I learned that you shouldn't pull out whatever it was that was used to stab you so it could prevent greater blood loss from Tumblr. And sorry for any wrong spellings or missing words.

Edit: Nov. 1, 2016: So, I (Leigh, not Matt. Matt is gone.) found out that the last part of this chapter was missing. To those of you who have read this before this date, you may notice that what happened before Jack kissed her is different. Just letting you know.
