emily pov
when we finally got home i entered my house, evading the paparazzi.
"hey buddy!" i said as i went over to pepe.
he made a low sound and i smiled as he rolled onto his stomach.
"did you miss mommy? i bet you did! who's mommy's boy?" i cooed and he made out a sound, as if he was trying to speak.
he got to his feet and jumped up, his paws on my shoulders, kissing my face and i giggled and rubbed his back.
"i know. i love you too boy. yes yes i know. i missed you."
i laughed and stood up, looking at his empty food bowl.
"you finished all your food? i stocked you up for the whole 2 days! good job peps!" i said and smiled, knowing he was making progress.
i smiled, knowing he did well since i could tell he used the doggy door i got him when i was gone.
i filled up his water bowl that was near empty.
i made sure i got him 2 water bowls and a lot of extra food because i don't trust anyone else to watch him.
i went to my house phone and grabbed a soda as i clicked the play messages.
"you have, 48, new messages."
"shit." i said, confused.
i played them.
"hello emily. this is entertainment tonight-"
i clicked next, "emily fields! an honor! this is E! news-"

i hit next so many times, i was wondering if the button would ever break.
i groaned and put my hand through my hair.
"emily fields. scooter braun. i heard your voice at the new years rockin eve. i am a talent manager and own school boy records. you should call me some time. we love talent like you and i heard you singing to ariana grande. i am her manager too. she told me wonderful things. call me back if you're interested, my number is (just a random number lol) 323-487-5659. i hope to hear from you emily." the beep went off, signaling the end of the message and i sighed.
"what you think peps? should i?"
he barked loudly and i chuckled, writing down the number: 323-487-5659 scooter braun.
"i'll think about it. but right now i need some shut eye." i said and smiled.
i locked the doors and went upstairs, sitting in bed, lights off, going on my phone.
i noticed that alison posted a picture of us on twitter and instagram.
perfect weekend with the perfect girl. i love you @emilyfields.
i smiled and replied,
it was only perfect cause my beautiful angel was there. i love you too @alisondilaurentis. more than you know.
i put a kissing emoji and smiled as we broke the internet.
holy shit people are crazy.
i looked at my notifications and saw ariana followed me.
i smiled and followed her back.
met this one this weekend. definitely a memorable moment. @emilyfields
she attached a picture to it and i favorited and retweeted it.
i liked it on instagram as well.
i texted ariana,
hey it's your favorite person!
i got an answer almost right away,
nana?
i laughed,
emily!
it was read and she replied,
ohhh right. no not my favorite but eh. you'll do.
i laughed,
real nice grande cappuccino.
pepe jumped up on the bed finally and snuggled into my side.
nice one fields. you coming to the record?
i sighed,
idk. should i? am i good enough?
right then, my phone rang and i smiled,
"hey beautiful."
"hey you. make it home good?" alison's voice said.
"very. pepe misses you though."
she laughed, "aw peps. i'll be there tomorrow."
"oh will you now?" i said and she giggled.
"yes ma'am. look. i wanted to talk to you em." alison said.
"about?"
"ariana called me. she said she wants you to sign for scooter's label."
i groaned, "not you too."
"em you should do it. you have the talent. everyone heard it."
"i know but alison-"
"no stop. emily i know you are going to think of a million excuses to do this but i won't let you say one. do it. you're amazing and that sexy face and body deserve to be known. you'll be huge em."
i sighed, "i don't know-"
"babe. i know your boxing and run down house mean a lot to you, but wouldn't you like all of the fans, screaming your name in an arena? singing the words to your songs? everyone in the stadium, watching you? that adore you?"
i closed my eyes, imagining the dream i've had since i was a little girl.
i would pretend to be a famous rapper and singer.
i would put the stupid chains on my neck and the snap backs and play in front of my parents and they would laugh and sing along with the child songs and raps i came up with.
"it does sound pretty amazing."
"then emily do it! i know you want to! i saw the way your eyes shimmered while rapping on that stage. you love it. and you will be huge. i can promise you that."
i smiled, "i guess. yeah. yeah i'll do it."
"yes! i love you! night babe."
"night gorgeous." i hung up and went back to my messages, seeing ariana hounded me with texts.
are you kidding?! you're amazing!
emily fields please just say yes!

i smiled and put my phone away, finally going to sleep.

the next morning when emily and i walked into school.
holy shit.
"OH MY GOD! EMILY! ALISON!" everyone sprinted over, asking questions, asking for autographs and pictures.
it's only been 2 weeks since we have been in school.

school went on christmas break on december 20, 2015
it's literally been 2 weeks.
emily and i ignored everyone and just went to her locker, then to class as fast as we could.
"okay. i had a watch!" emily yelled and snatched it from someone.
i laughed and she sat down.
"god. what the hell is going on?"
"that's what fame feels like darling. it's crazy." i said and smiled.
"wow."
"emily! are you really joining school boy records?" some person ran in and asked.
i suppressed laughter as i saw emily's face in shock.
"wait what? how did you know?" she said.
"everyone knows. it's all over the internet." she said and held her phone out.

i chuckled and emily groaned, "damn you ariana."
i laughed, "she's just happy." i said and patted her shoulder.
emily pov
this is so...awkward.
people i have known since grade school are even acting different.
only ali, hanna, caleb, aria and spencer act normal around me.
everyone else is asking for autographs and it feels...weird!
i got out off my bike and walked back into the house.
my phone rang.
i answered, "hello?"
"emily! it's ariana. listen, we want to record that song asap. how fast can you fly down to cali?"
"like california cali? i have school."
"emily you don't need school. not when you become a star. how about we arrange a flight for you? say? tonight?"
i sighed, "sure. what time."
"i'll meet you at JFK in 4 hours. pack your bags. we'll be there for a while."
"ar. i don't have a house there. and my dog-"
"can come too. relax. i have a place. i am still in new york for a photoshoot so i will be with you. 4 hours em. bye." she said and hung up.
i sighed, "guess we're going to california buddy." i said and started packing.

"california? already?" alison said.
"i know. but ariana said we have to do the duet as soon as possible, and i should probably start my own music there too."
she sighed and looked down, "i know. it's just. quick. but i get it. i did the same thing. you have to sacrifice some things."
i nodded, my bag on my shoulder and hugged aria and spencer, then hanna and caleb.
"i'll see you guys." i said and waved and looked at the cage they put my pepe in.
i hate putting him in a cage, he hates cages.
but they need him in one for the plane.
"and you? i love you okay?" i said and kissed alison.
she kissed back and hugged me.
"i love you too. be safe okay?"
i nodded, "i will."
"don't go all hollywood on me?"
i chuckled, "promise. i won't. as long as you promise to always love me?" i said with a grin.
she giggled and nodded, "always."
"and forever. i love you baby." i kissed her sweetly and walked away.
"hey fields. ready to get your fame on?"
i nodded, "born ready grande." i said and we went through security and boarded ariana's jet.
she took a picture of both of us and captioned it,
and the journey begins... #risingstar
i smiled and looked out the window at the shrinking people.
