"...Twins."
The word bounced around in my brain. Twins. I'm having twins. The idea of having a baby inside of me was always one I still found quite hard to grasp... But now to hear that there are two of them in there. Inside of my body... The idea seemed to be even harder to understand.
I was lost in thought. I mean how could I not be? I'm going to have two kids before I'm 18. I think anyone else in my situation would also be freaking out a little bit.
Through my eyes I could see everyone cheering and crying... Michael was even standing up on one of the booths waving his arms around like a loonatic. But the thing was... I couldn't hear them.
My brain was filled with white noise,my own train of thought was the only thing there to fill it.
I knew I was crying, from the cold streaks I could feel on my cheeks, and as I began to come too, I could feel my body being pulled out of the booth before everyone's arms wrapped around Luke and I. With everyone's bodies pressed together in the middle of a semi-famous pizza parlor, it all sunk in.
"Holy shit, There's two of them... Twins! We're having twins." Luke cheered before planting an awkward kiss on my cheek.
He's right, we're having twins. Him and I. And it's not something that I can deny anymore. These babies are just as much mine as they are his. No matter what is going on between us, I can't keep them from him. We're in this together... for the next 18 or so years anyway. In a way that thought comforted me, because as much as Luke and I may not be together, but I still love him, I probably always will. And it's quilty pleasure to know he'll always be there close to me, we know have this special bond that no one else will be able to understand. He can't get rid of me now...
"Wait, wait, wait, pause the mini party!" Michael yelled, causing us all to do exactly what he said, "We still didn't get an answer to the original issue, the gender or genders."
Excited squeals left the mouths of Gemma and Zoe, "Tell us!"
Looking in Luke's direction, he was biting his lip, but I could see the way the corners of his lips were turning up in a smile.
All eyes were on Luke. And you could practically feel the anticipation radiating off of everyone.
"We're having a girl," he took a small pause as everyone let out a shriek of excitement. And it took a moment for everyone to realise it... He only said there was only one girl... which meant, "And a boy."
Screaming. It was as though that was our theme for the night.
My heart felt as though I was going to explode with happiness. With only one pregnancy I was going to get a child of each gender. Honestly, today couldn't have gone any better. I knew now that my babies were healthy and that I was going to start my parenting life with a millionaire family.
"We needed to go for drinks to celebrate!" Calum yelled. Causing Michael to excitedly clap his hands together.
"Guys, Nikki can't drink. She's pregnant with two little ones... That sounds so weird, my best friend is pregnant with twins. Hard to think just 4 or 5 months ago you were a virgin."
Everything she said was true.
"Sooo, they have other things than alcohol at the bar, she doesn't have to have any. There are some pretty amazing mocktails." Michael inputted.
"I'm fine with going to the bar... But you guys are underage, how are you even going to get served?" I asked honestly interested. It was a question that's been floating around my brain whenever I heard Luke had gotten plastered at a bar or club and then hooked up with a random, as well as when then arrived at the table I was working at the cafe drunk... Since I know how strict they are with ID's.
"We're celebrities... So no one really cares, especially if we give them a really good tip." Cal explained, and it made sense. Who was going to tell some teenagers who make 3 times their salary no?
"Are you sure Nikki? We don't want to make it awkward for you that we'll all be drinking and you won't be able to." Zoe looked at me with a lot of hesitation. I knew she didn't want to go into something like this with the possibility of something going badly while everyone is drunk.
"It'll be okay, if Nikki can't drink neither will I. That way she has someone there for her and everything." Ashton smiled, bumping shoulders with me.
"Why thank you Ash, that's very gallant of you." I giggled, causing Ashton to giggle along with a wink.
At Ashton's actions I could feel Luke stiffen from beside me. His hands tightened into fistes and he began to grind his teeth together...
"You're way more important than drinking. Also I wouldn't want to get drunk and embarrass myself infront of you."
"Ashton, I don't think your sobriety is going to be needed. I'll stay with Nikki, her and I can be the designated drivers together. You can celebrate with the others." Luke growled.
Everyone was silent, slightly surprised by Luke's actions. After the last time we were all together it was kind of surprising to have him react the way he was. Especially when he's supposedly on a lot of thin ice.
"Woah man, chill. Considering your track record the past few months, I thought that you'd want to get plastered and have a little fun. And it be my absolute pleasure to spend the night talking and hanging out with Nik." Ashton's arm snaked around my waist comfortably.
"Mate, you know that everything that's happened recently was a repercussion of Nikki and I's breakup. So don't you fucking dare hold all that against me, I was having a bad time and thought that sex and drink was the only way to mend my broken heart when in reality I was only stretching it out even further. I'm trying so hard to turn over a new leaf, no more sex meaningless sex with random girls, drinking till I can't think properly, or getting into fights and punching people out. I don't want any trouble. I liked the man I was when I was with Nikki..." Everyone was completely attached to every word that came out of Luke's mouth, we were all so absorbed in the drama.
"Boy, you were and are just a boy. No way in fucking hell were you a man. Only little boys would exploit women in the way you did, just for your own selfish reason. Women get used all the time, for pleasure, but not because it makes some little boy feel cool or mature. If you had an ounce of maturity in your body, then you would've treated Nikki one hundred times better than you did." Ashton boomed, his fists in tight balls causing his knuckles to turn a ghostly white.
"And what, you were the "man" who could treat her properly?"
"Hell fucking yeah I was," He looked at me, his jaw clenched, "and quite frankly I still am. And you're still a fucking heartless prick. You're only giving her affection now because you know you can get a rise out of me... And guess what you've fucking accomplished your goal."
And with that Ashton hastily stocked out of the restaurant.
My body was frozen with shock... This was all too much for one night. I new to some extent that Ashton still had some feelings for me. After all he's been flirting with me a lot ever since they found me at the beach, and we may have kissed a couple of times. But I guess I never saw the extent of what was happening.
"Hello, you guys have been loud and are disturbing other customers, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to leave." A girl said, who obviously knew who the boys were and also didn't actually want them to leave.
"Did you hear any of what we've said tonight?" Michael asked awkwardly, his eyes wide... You could tell by his flustered actions he found her attractive.
"Yeah kinda, but don't worry your secret's are safe with me." The girl smiled sweetly. If I had to guess, I'd say she was about the age as us. She had beautiful long black hair and flawless olive skin, and to top off her entire look, had gorgeous greyish-blue eyes.
"Well thank you, do you have a twitter? We could follow you?" Cal sweetly suggested.
"Oh my god that'd be amazing. Just please don't judge it's @xXsquirrdelcliffordXx." (N/A I don't know if this is a real twitter handle!)
Just from hearing her twitter handle, I could tell Michael was even more interested in this girl, just from the little hint that she likes pokemon and I'm guessing the 'clifford' meant he was her favourite of the band. Gemma and Zoe began to grab their purses and the girl started to walk back behind the counter... Even though I've had a rollercoaster of a night I knew I needed to have it end on a high note and I couldn't have one of my bestfriends crushing on a girl that he didn't even know her name, could I?
"Hey, one more question before we leave," She turned around at me a huge smile, I like this girl, "What's your name?"
"Lily-anne Henderson."
