"Hey, Brooke...do...do you have some medicine? ACHOO!" Sneezed Nanami sleepily, standing outside my room. If I didn't know her, I would honestly think she was a zombie.

Shutting my 'Kamisama Kiss' book quickly, I threw it in my bag, zipping it up and placing my bag on my back, and pulled back my shutter.

"YIPES!" I shrieked. Nanami was standing in front of me with her hair in a mess, black bags under her eyes, red, hot cheeks and drool in the corners of her mouth. Nanami was a zombie.

I placed the back of my hand on her forehead. Her forehead was that hot you could fry an egg on it. "Wait here a sec!" I commanded, dashing into the bathroom.

But guess who I would obviously bump into.

"Where are you-...?" Tomoe tried helping me up, but I shot up quickly.

"No time to answer! Must save Nanami from turning into a zombie!" I declared, entering the bathroom.

I checked the cabinet and saw the thermometer laying there. Smiling, I ran back to Nanami who was currently being held by Tomoe.

"This is a good chance," smirked Tomoe, still holding Nanami, "to miss school." He's saying that because he doesn't want to go to school.

Then a bright idea came into my mind.

"Nanami, you don't want to miss school, do you?" I asked menacingly, as grin started to appear on my face. Tomoe put Nanami down, and she started wobbling towards me.

Slowly, Nanami nodded her head. "And Tomoe, you're free today, aren't you?"

Tomoe started frowning. He doesn't even know my plan! I opened my mouth, but Kotetsu beat me to it.

"How about Tomoe turn into Nanami for today?" Kotetsu proposed casually.

"What a brilliant idea, Kotetsu!" I chimed in, secretly laughing my ass off in the back of my head. Tomoe's eyes shot daggers at me.

But I could sense today was going to be a good day.

"Quit laughing already!" Growled Tomoe as we walked into the school.

"Whatever you say...Tomina," I laughed, wiping my tears away. "However, I do have one serious question."

"Which is?" Groaned 'Tomina'.

"How come you've got bigger boobs than me? I am a female, yet you are a male and when you get turned into a chick yet you've got massive boobs, and I'm a girl with actual boobs. Don't tell me it's because you have a-..."

"Please shut up, you're giving me a headache."

"Haha, I'm sorry. I thought you'd be interested as you're a pervert, but I guess you do have some sort of humanity," I chuckled, as we were nearing the classroom.

Tomina started chuckling, and opened the door to our annoying classroom. It was like walking into a zoo.

Me and Tomina strolled towards our seats, but obviously Isobe and his gang were sitting in them. Rolling my eyes, I opened my mouth, but closed it as there was something weird going on.

Isobe was staring at Nanami/Tomina like he never did before. His eyes were bigger, and I think he was starting to drool like his friends around him.

"You're in our seats," snapped Tomina, pushing her hair back. They still sat there, mouths dropped and drool flowing. "Urgh, please go away and stop staring at To...I mean Nanami!" I complained, becoming bored and frustrated.

Snapping out of their trances, they obeyed, but still couldn't keep their eyes of Tomina.

"Do you not feel at little bit...pissed at them staring at you? I would, especially if they were staring at my body," I asked, shuddering of the thought of people staring at my body.

"If they were staring at mine, no, but your's is a completely different story," he grumbled quietly, sitting in his seat. Do I sense some jealousy? Or was that just me?

"Haha, don't worry, nobody notices me anyway, let alone looks at me," I awkwardly commented, sitting down quickly.

Tomina looked up at me. His facial expressions softened. Did he feel sorry for me? I can't make him feel sorry for me, that would make me look weak.

I looked away, and faced the board. Biting my nails, I could feel Tomoe's eyes burning at in to the back of my head.

RING!

Let the hell begin.

~ • ~

"Hey, princess," gushed a familiar voice. Tomina and I were looking at our Maths work after class ended. Tomina didn't understand what Algebra was, so I was helping him out.

I couldn't help but smile as it had been a long time since I heard that voice. "Hey, charming."

Me and Tomina quickly put all our stuff in our bags and stood up. "Hey, Nanami. Last time I saw you was when you and the stupid fox were small," joked Kurama, "but now you've turned more...girlish." But the only thing he got out of that comment was a glare from Tomina. I decided to keep quiet as I wanted to watch how this played out.

"Anyway, Brooke, I still want to speak to you about-..."

"Okay, just not now! Name the place and date and I'll be there!" I answered hesitantly. Tomoe can't know. I grabbed Tomina's arm and dashed off, but the last thing I heard was Kurama saying something which made me laugh.

"It's a date!"

Slamming the door, shortly after I let go of Tomina. I started walking off when Tomina grabbed my wrist. "What does he want to speak to you about?"

"It don't matter! Let's go get some food, I'm starving!" I beamed, starting to speed-walk.

Tomina stood still, still holding on to my hand, but more forceful with his grip.

"Remember what I said, you can't keep secrets from me, Brooke, so if you're keeping any, tell me now."

"Look Tomo...Nanami, we'll talk about it when we get back, okay? Now let's go and get some fooooood," I complained, trying to pull Tomina with me.

"I want to talk about it now."

"Look, chill out fox-boy, he just wants to speak to me," I explained, still trying to pull him with me.

"Yeah, and what happened when Mizuki just wanted to talk to you? You were injured, and as you're familiar I must-..."

"Look after me, and you're doing that right now! Kurama's okay, he won't hurt me, I will probably hurt him before he hurts me. I'm a big girl, Nanami."

"But that doesn't mean I don't worry about you, still."

Tomoe's character and personality has changed completely since I stepped in this book. I don't know how to feel about it.

Does this mean I'm not doing my job?

I've really messed up this story up.

But that doesn't mean it hasn't done the same to me.

"Please could you read the next page, Miss Momozomo!" Asked our English teacher with no care in his tone.

I made a little giggle, making Tomina glare at me. Tomina looked so confused, doesn't he know how to read?

Oh yeah, he doesn't.

Kurama's hand up and said, "I shall read for Nanami as she has a bad throat!" While Kurama cleared his throat, Tomina sat down.

"Hey, Nanami," I whispered, trying to contain my laughter. When he finds out his face will literally be such an entertaining sight!

"Yes," Tomina hissed quietly.

"You're...hehe...book is...upside down."

And guess who got the look they wanted.

-Next Lesson-

My ears were bleeding. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind having Tomoe around me.

But he is never singing next to me again.

"Momozomo, you're off key!" Sighed the music teacher for the seventh billionth time in this lesson. "Why don't we get some professionals to sing for us!"

Tomoe was going to be outshone again by Kurama, what a shame. He deserves it, I missed my lunch because of him.

"Miss Brooke, please come to the front and perform this duet with Kurama."

Tomina let out a laugh, but cupped his hands over his mouth. He better keep his hands over his goddamn mouth, jerk.

"Erm...I'm good! I'm really bad at singing and-..."

Kurama snatched my hand and brought me to the front of the classroom. I'm so going to kill this tengu.

"Actually, can we sing a different song?" Kurama begged, fluttering his eyelashes. I swear to god if he chooses a cheesy song.

"Of course!" Encouraged the music teacher. Kurama then cupped his hands over my left ear and whispered what he wanted to sing.

A smile started to spread across my face, and I grabbed the acoustic guitar off a kid in the front row. I mouthed 'sorry' and stood next to Kurama.

"We're gonna sing 'Hey There Delilah', by the Plain White T's," announced Kurama, as I strapped the guitar on to myself and strumming some chords.

I remember this song, I remember the lyrics, notes, I knew this song off by heart.

"You ready?" Asked Kurama calmly. I looked at the people and took a deep breath in.

"I'm ready."

I started playing the introduction on the guitar, and as I played it I couldn't help but think of all the stuff I've done in this book so far. But this time it wasn't out of worry, it was out of joy.

So far I've had my first friend, my first kiss and the first time I have ever felt happy since my family died.

I'm not going to cry. I'm going to do what my father taught me, in order to make people happy, I must use be happy.

"Hey there Delilah, whats it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away, but girl, tonight you look so pretty. Yes you do. Times Square can't shine as bright as you, I swear it's true," sang Kurama.

"Hey there Delilah, don't you worry about the distance, I'm right there if you get lonely. Give this song another listen. Close your eyes. Listen to my voice, it's my disguise. I'm by your side," I continued, strumming away on my guitar.

"Oh it's what you do to me, oh it's what you do to me, oh it's what you do to me. Oh it's what you do to me, what you do to me," Kurama and I harmonised perfectly, not going off key.

"A thousand miles seems pretty far, but they've got planes and trains and cars, I'd walk to you if I had no other way. Our friends would all make fun of us, and we'll just laugh along because we know that none of them have felt this way," I belted out, smiling like an idiot.

Tomoe (well Tomina) was staring at me since I started singing and hasn't took his eyes off me since. This look was different to the way he usually looks at me though. What does it mean?

"Delilah I can promise you that by the time we get through the world will never ever be the same, and you're to blame," we both sang.

"Hey there Delilah, you be good and don't you miss me. Two more years and you'll be done with school and I'll be making history like I do. You'll know it's all because of you. We can do whatever we want to. Hey there Delilah here's to you. This one's for you," sang Kurama beautifully.

"Oh it's what you do to me, oh it's what you do to me, oh it's what you do to me, oh it's what you do to me, what you do to me," we both sang, finishing the song.

I then looked up and not only did I see happiness, I saw something I never expected. I saw recognition towards not only Kurama, but to me, which made me happy.

But I noticed that Tomina wasn't here.

~ • ~

What an idiot!

He could have at least told me before the lesson even started that he needed to go somewhere. Hell, he could have told somebody to tell me he needed to go somewhere!

But no!

I angrily ripped off my guitar from around my body and slammed it on the desk, storming out the classroom.

"Son of a-..." A soft, warm hand wrapped their fingers around my wrist.

"Princess can sing?" laughed the voice warmly.

I started gritting my teeth and spun around to be faced with Kurama. I rolled my eyes and grunted, "What do you want, Charming? I've kinda lost To...Nanami and-..."

"I have some information for you which might interest you."

Interest me?

"What is so damn important than finding my friend!?" I exclaimed irritably, catching some looks and stares from my lovely classmates.

"Look, if you wanna speak about Hikari and those images you saw when you kissed I suggest you come with me and speak about it on the rooftop. I'm helping you, Brooke."

For the first time I saw a genuine Kurama. Why does he want to help me? It's frustrating when you don't know the reason to why people do things, but I wasn't going to pry.

What Kurama does, he does.

"Do I have an option?" I sighed.

"Nope, unless you don't want to survive in this world."

~ • ~

Walking up the empty staircase to rooftop, I had no clue what Kurama was going to say to me about Hikari.

Was he going to tell me something which would actually protect me? Or is he just messing around?

I unlocked the rooftop door and sitting on the edge of the building was Prince Charming himself.

"What took you so long?" Whined Kurama childishly as he started lying down. I huffed, making my hair fly up in the process. Kurama just chuckled and his arms.

"You wanted to speak to me?" I reminded him, leaning against the doorway to the stairs.

"I am, Princess," he snapped back, sitting up. Jeez, what's caused his panties in a twist? "So, remember when I kissed you?"

"No, why would I? It was the 2nd time I met you and you just kissed me. Oh, what a lovely memory I have of you. You are so romantic!" I replied sarcastically.

"You make me laugh, Brooke. Anyway, those images, they were the memories I had of Hikari. You basically messed around with my memories. Wait...do you know?" Teased Kurama as his mouth started to form a smirk.

"Do I know what?" I snarled. What the hell is going on with Kurama? He is so irritable today.

"Your lips," he began, jumping off the edge and walking towards me, "can reveal so much of how people think, and you don't even know it."

"Stop playing riddles with me, Tengu," I uttered seriously, venom laced in my words.

"I'm not dear, I just gave you the answer," he remarked. Then he placed his lips next to my ear and whispered, "Now work it out." Dear? When has he ever called me a name like dear?

He started pulling away from me, but I pulled him down to me, looking him straight in the eye, and grumbled, "You're not Kurama."

"Ah, I knew you were smart. Stupid Tengu said you would only listen to me, and he said that I understand this situation way too much so why not explain to a measly human girl?" Nattered on the fake Kurama. ENOUGH ALREADY!

"Who are you? How did you know that I kissed Kurama, hmm?!" I barked, pushing all my weight on fake Kurama and pinning him against the wall.

"Please have some elegance when you start a battle! You're lacking elegance, sweetheart!" I tightened my grip on his shoulders, causing fake Kurama to wince.

"Now tell me now or-..."

"Or you'll what? Send your godly-fire after me? Use your magical ring and stopwatch to scare me away? Oh, that's quite sad."

We stared at each other. None of us were getting what we wanted.

Fake Kurama rolled his eyes and giggled, "OOPS! My times up! I've gotta dash, sweetheart, I'm kind of a big deal being, you know, a God and all! Please do send Mikage big hugs and kisses from me and also..."

Kurama shot up from my grasp, flying in the air. But this time he wasn't flying because he had wings.

He was standing on a cloud.

"Bye-bye!"

Then fake Kurama vanished, so with a secret and his true appearance.

I pressed my index finger against my lips. As I touched them I couldn't help but think what fake Kurama was talking about?

What's so special about my lips?

NOTE:
Do you think it was too cheesy? Too much? I really don't know!

Also, Brooke was very personal with Tomoe o.O

Sorry if I scared you btw with that personal speech by Brooke...

ENJOY! ^.^
