„Why do you ask that?"
„To be honest, everyone, who stayed here overnight, ran away the next morning and they never returned back.", replied the woman slowly.
(When I see that Karex again...)
„Ehehe."
Arisa gave them a smile and looked at me.
„I am not afraid of any undead beings. So if they come, I will protect us both."
„We will see. Come, Ara-chan.", said the woman and they were about to leave.
„Or we can still return to our old house for this night."
„And where is that house of yours?"
„In Tokyo."
„I never heard of such a place."
(Why? It is not more than 1 hour away from here.)
(And the capital city of Japan!)
The woman and the little boy slowly walked away.
„Arisa, let's look around."
„Mmm."
We checked the surroundings and found one small lake on the other side.
„Now this place doesn't look that bad."
„If there aren't any dangerous creatures."
„True."
I said that to comfort her, but that place looked terrible... in comparison with our now old home.
(At least it is ours.)
(Our own haunted house.)
„Let's unpack first and check whatever we miss. Then we can return to our old house or buy something in any nearby city."
Arisa agreed and we returned to the house.
„Arisa, go ahead. I need to make a phone call."
„Sure."
Arisa left and I called Karex, but his number was unavailable.
(Great!)
(Is this place even connected to electricity?)
I tried to switch lights on, but nothing happened.
(Maybe circuit breakers are just tripped.)
After a while I found the box and my assumption was correct. I set everything on and tried it again.
(One problem solved.)
Then I returned to Arisa and helped her unpack everything. We found the main problem really fast... a lack of usable furniture. Everything in the house was too old. All we had were our personal items, blankets and pillows.
„Let's return to the old house and then we could also buy something."
Arisa looked dejected.
„Arisa, it will be all right. We will cope with it somehow.", I said that and hugged her.
„Mmm. At least it is our house."
„Yeah. It is our place and no one can kick us out from it. Not even ghosts."
Arisa suddenly kissed me.
„Even if ghosts live here, I am sure you will protect me, right?"
„Of course!"
We ran out of the house.
„Oh! We should first find our location."
I wanted to check our GPS on my phone, but it didn't find any satellites.
„Arisa, try to find our location in your phone, mine is not working."
„It is weird."
„Show it to me."
Arisa showed me her mobile phone and its result was the same.
„It is really weird."
It was confusing, but we set off toward Tokyo anyway. Hopefully we can find the way back. A bit later when we got out of the tunnel, I checked GPS again and there was no problem.
Around the noon we stopped in front of our old house.
„Let's go inside. I will prepare us lunch."
„I will help you."
I tried to unlock the house, but my key didn't go into the lock.
„Is there a problem?"
(Did anyone already change the lock?)
„It seems, that someone changed the lock."
When I tried to look at the door to garden, the same new lock appeared to be there too.
(sigh)
„Someone had to be watching us and they changed it as soon as we left."
I tried to call Karex again, but his phone was still turned off.
„Let's go shopping. We need at least a futon... or I wouldn't be able to wish you good night."
„Hehe."
Arisa slightly laughed and we set off to a nearby shop.
The way back was again without problems... apart from the fact, that one car was following us from the time we stopped at the old house. At the crossroads I turned right and drove onto a road through a short forest and then into the tunnel. The pursuer followed us, but not farther than to the tunnel. When we got to the other side, they were nowhere behind us.
„Why are they not following us?"
„Eh? Who?"
„No. Nothing."
Arisa seemed to not notice it and so I didn't want to scare her. Back in our house we put the futon into one of smaller rooms.
„Come, Arisa. Let's relax."
And so we took a nap until evening, then had dinner and fell asleep again.
„moka!"
„Tomoka!"
I woke up in the middle of the night when Arisa was calling me.
„Arisa?"
„Did you hear that?"
„What do you mean?"
„Someone was walking downstairs."
„I am sure, that I locked the house... so anyone shouldn't be able to get here."
The main entrance to the house was the one in corridor, but there was one separate door into this part.
„I will go lock even the door to our part."
„No... stay here. I am scared."
„You can come with me then. I will take my weapon."
„Ah, okay..."
I switched lights on, picked up my nunchaku and Arisa found a stick. Then we slowly walked downstairs.
„Tomoka... do you hear anything?", she whispered to me.
„No."
(creak)
„Eh?! What was that?"
„These stairs are old so..."
(squeak)
Another similar sound appeared, but clearly from the corridor.
„Tomoka..."
„Stay behind me."
I slowly moved to the door leading to corridor, stopped and kept listening. Suddenly we both heard steps getting closer to the door. When it seemed, that someone stopped just behind it, I quickly opened it, raised my hand and stroke.
But it didn't hit anything. No one was anywhere around.
„Is it really haunted as that boy said? I would not mind aliens, but ghosts are really scary."
I switched lights on and checked the main door. It was locked.
„Let's return to bed."
We left all lights on and fell asleep again. No other ghosts appeared till the morning.
