You and Regina never liked each other until you get closer than usual at a party, changing everything between both of you.

~-~

Y/n, Damian and Janis have been best friends for as long as they can remember.

Y/n and Janis used to be neighbours which caused them to grow closer along the years, especially during middle school. But, during 6th grade, Janis best friend was Regina and not Y/n.

Y/n was fine with it, she didn't really mind Regina, in fact she thought she was cool, until Janis decided to come out.
Regina's reaction to Janis vulnerability made Y/n really hate her guts.

I mean, who gave her the right to make fun of someone she considered her best friend just because she came out.

Since then, they never got along, and Y/n made sure that Regina knew she didn't like her, either it was whenever she gave her a death stare when passing or slightly tripping her.

Of course, Regina wasn't an easy target. She made Y/n's life a living hell, they both did.

They would never get along.

It was like Y/n was the only girl at school that didn't fear her. And some people admired her for it, which made Regina hate her even more.

Doesn't matter how many times Janis tells her it's not worth it to fight over something that happened a long time ago, Y/n's dislike towards Regina grew to the point that anything she did, Y/n would find it annoying.
Same goes for Regina.

Besides, everyone was always up on each other's business, and since they loved drama, Y/n's and Regina's actions were the highlight of their day, deepening their behaviour.

Even for both, it was just their normal now.

"What do you think Y/n?" Janis said looking at Y/n with a grin, pulling her out of her thoughts as they were walking towards class.

As usual, Regina appearing out of nowhere, interrupting their conversation, brushing her shoulder past Y/n, "Watch it" she snarks, looking up and down the girl, before she keeps on walking, the plastics agreeing and nodding along like lost puppies.

Y/n rolls her eyes in response, Damian exchanging a look with Janis.

"I'm not sure," Y/n answers, this time, turning to Janis.

"It could be interesting!" Damian joins in the conversation, shrugging, making the girls look at him.

"Yeah, Y/n, you never know" Janis continues, "You might even find a cute girl to take home" She winks towards her best friend, Y/n playfully rolling her eyes with a small smirk.

"Fine.." Y/n gives in, just as they're about to enter the classroom, Damian and Janis sharing a high five, proud of finally convincing their friend.

Damian and Janis had been trying to get Y/n to go to a party with them for a while now.

Y/n normally doesn't mind parties but she knew Regina was going to be at this one, and she didn't feel like fighting.

It was a basic party some guy was throwing since his parents were away, just a casual hang out with alcohol and childish games, like truth or dare and 7 minutes in heaven.

The thing is, the guy was into Regina so she was obviously invited, and Y/n knew she would eventually have to see her there and she so clearly didn't want it.

"I can't believe I said yes" Y/n whispers to Janis once they got to their table, since they sit side by side, "Is it too late to take it back?"

Y/n's met with a grin from Janis, the girl shrugging, "Yep, too late," she playfully blows her friend a kiss, Y/n chuckling in return.

"Do you and Damian want to get ready at my house?" Y/n asks, Janis shifting her gaze to Damian that was sitting across the room, "So we can get ready together," Y/n finishes explaining.

"Do you girls want to share it with the rest of the class?" Their professor asks, lifting his brow as he crosses his arms, "No.. sorry" Y/n and Janis answer quietly, embarrassed yet annoyed.

Janis nodding to Y/n, "We'll talk at lunch," she whispers, receiving a glare from the professor.

"Hey!" Y/n says to Damian, allowing him to enter her house, "Hey girl!!" He replies.

"Janis' here already?" Damian asks, gesturing with his hands, Y/n nodding in response, "in the bedroom,"

It was finally Friday, the day of the party, and as usual the trio was going to get ready together.

"how'd she get here so fast?!" Damian asks, turning to Y/n as they're entering the bedroom,

"because I live next door?" Janis answers instead, since she heard the question, "Right." Damian replies, remembering that they were neighbours.

"Well, hello to you too," Damian continues with a smug look, going to join Janis that was sitting on the bed, Y/n following right behind, taking the makeup bag with her.

"Can someone do my eyeliner?" Y/n asks, sitting on the bed, both of her friends happily volunteering to do so.

As they were getting ready, the time kept passing, meaning that they were going to be late.

It didn't matter though since they took their time anyway.

Once they were all finished, they started to walk towards the house where the party was being hosted, since Y/n's didn't live that far from it.

"We're so late!" Janis says, still not bothering to walk faster.

Y/n letting out a scoff, her friends looking at her annoyed "Girl don't start!" Damian spoke, making Y/n let out a chuckle.

"I didn't say anything!" smirking slightly, Y/n shrugged.

"I don't even know why you hate Regina that much" Janis joins in to question the girl.

"I don't know why you don't," Y/n wonders, "She's terrible to everyone, I'm not going to sit and watch as she makes fun of someone just because" Y/n explains, shrugging.

"She has a point!" Damian states, "When do I not?" Y/n remarks with a sassy look on her face.

"Uhm.." Damian lets out, Y/n rolling her eyes in response as Janis just laughs beside them.

"You know what?" Damian adds, lifting up a finger towards the girl.

"what?" Y/n wonders as Janis curiously listens.

"I think you just need to fuck Regina," He continues with indifference like it was nothing, shocking both Y/n and Janis, since they clearly weren't expecting those words.

"I'm sorry?" Y/n says, looking back at Janis that also had her eyes widened and her mouth hung open, before a small laugh leaves her lips, "I can kinda see it." Janis says shrugging.

"You too?" Y/n looks at Janis, "I can't believe you both!"

"You didn't deny it," Damian states, leaning towards the girl.

Y/n just looks between her friends in disbelief, "Think about it Y/n," Janis starts, gesturing with her hands.

"There's nothing to think about-" Y/n tries to say but Damian interrupts her to explain, "There's definitely tension between you and Regina."

"I can't deny it, Y/n, I see it" Janis shrugs.

"How is me, not liking her, tension?" Y/n tries to explain, Janis starts, "It's the way you always make time just to fight each other,"

"Or the way Regina would go out of her way just to bump into you" Damian shrugs, joining in, mentioning to the other day, Janis nodding while Y/n lets out an annoyed sigh.

"Because there's no way that girl's straight," Damian letting out a knowing scoff.

Y/n just looked at him confused, "Girl, didn't you see the way she was looking at that random girl in school the other day?" He nods his head.

"She literally dissed Janis for being a lesbian, how is not straight?" Y/n explains like it was obvious, Janis suddenly growing more quiet, even if she was already over their fight it doesn't mean she wasn't hurt.

"I think she was just being defensive," Janis says, making Damian and Y/n look at her, "You know, it doesn't mean she isn't a lesbian"

Y/n nods, listening attentively to the explanation, but still refusing to believe their nonsense.

Eventually they get to the house, the music loud enough to be listened on the outside, and some already drunk people on the front yard, along with plastic cups on the floor.

As they get into the house, their conversation changed topics, especially since they might run into Regina and it wouldn't be good for her to hear them.

In fact, as they enter the house, they're immediately met by Regina and Gretchen that were passing by, Regina giving Y/n a glare once she notices her, making the trio all change a knowing look.

They move to the kitchen to grab some drinks, mostly Y/n, since she wanted to get drunk.

"Glad you're here, took you long enough!" The same guy that's throwing the party says to Y/n once he notices the group, since they were friends.

"At least I'm here" Y/n shrugs with a smile, patting him on the shoulder as she's passing through him.

"You arrived at the perfect time," He starts, "We're gonna play truth or dare, come on" He comments to the group, starting to walk towards a random room, just waiting for them to get some drinks.

Once they arrive at said room, the dude immediately goes to sit down on the floor, the empty bottle already set.

Y/n looks around the room, before Damian makes some excuse as to why he couldn't stay since he didn't feel like playing the game, leaving the girls alone.

They didn't know anyone, but joined the boy on the floor anyways, until they see two very familiar faces walk into the room.

Regina and Aaron, the perfect couple.

They settled onto the floor among the others, but Y/n couldn't help but notice how Regina made sure she was siting on his lap, as if staking her claim, saying she just didn't want to get dirty.

Regina eventually looks around the room, her eyes falling on Y/n for the second time, both of their faces changing to one of annoyance.

It didn't matter though, since they didn't break eye contact, as if they were trying to prove a point to the other, a small smile hinting at their lips.

But Regina moves to lay a kiss on Aaron's neck while gently holding his face, mocking Y/n.

Y/n rolls her eyes at the sight before her, a feeling she couldn't quite pinpoint what it is, filling her, making Janis let out a chuckle.

"Tension," Janis whispers in her ear, with a small laugh, making Y/n look at her with an annoyed expression.

"Please, I've seen better chemistry at a science lab." Y/n lets out a scoff, subtly looking at the couple.

"I start," A random guy announces, moving to spin the bottle, cutting the conversation short, and as if for coincidence it falls on Janis.

Janis answers with truth, wanting to ease into the game, "Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?" he says, hearing some groans around the room, "y'all, i'm starting easy" he adds, making the girls roll her eyes at his antics.

"I haven't," Janis shakes her head, disgusted, before she moves to spin the bottle, it falling on a random girl, Janis having to give her a dare.

The game goes like that for a while, before it the questions start becoming bolder, the dares more outrageous, fuelled by the intoxicating atmosphere of the party.

For a while Y/n didn't have any questions, just observing the childish behaviour, with a mixture of amusement and apprehension.

However, her amusement quickly fades when the bottle lands on her, and a drunken guy daring her to spend 7 minutes in heaven with the one she disliked the most in the room, Regina.

"I'm not doing it!" Regina immediately answers.

"You have to, get up," Y/n says, at this point, she was already a bit tipsy, Regina just looked at her, not trying to hide her disgust.

"I hate my life," Regina says as she got up after receiving some encouragement from her boyfriend.

"If you get too close to me, or breathe near me, im going to make your life a living hell," Regina says looking Y/n up and down, before they walk into a bathroom nearby.

As they're leaving the room, there's some whistles from some boys, making them roll their eyes.

Once they reach the bathroom they get in, Y/n locking the door behind them.

"Listen, this is bad enough, don't make it worse!" Regina snarks at the girl, leaning by the sink, "I didn't even open my mouth?" Y/n answers,

An awkward silence falls between, Y/n looking around the bathroom, Regina keeping her gaze on her, secretly, not wanting to look away.

Regina ended up letting out a sigh, shaking her head to look down. This time Y/n turning to look at Regina, observing her attentively.

"Why are you like that?" Y/n breaks the silence, suddenly getting a rush of confidence.

"What?" Regina wonders confused.

"Why are you always such a bitch?" Y/n repeats, leaning her head to the side.

Regina just rolls her eyes in response,"Coming from you, that's rich," she scoffs.

"At least I don't hide my feelings by hurting others," Y/n shrugs.

"You don't know me." Regina responds, looking down at her, before adjusting her posture, crossing her arms.

"Who does?" Y/n remarks.

Regina's jaw clenches, a fire igniting in her eyes. "You think you're so clever, don't you?" Regina sneers, "Deep down, you're just like them," she says to Y/n, mentioning to the people outside the bathroom, an uncomfortable silence filling the room again.

After a few seconds that felt like minutes, Regina moves to sit on a carpet that was on the floor, leaning her back against the bathtub, trying to get more comfortable.

Y/n smirks, unfazed. "Careful, you might get dirty.." Y/n comments once Regina's sitting, receiving a death stare in return.

Y/n joins Regina on the floor, sitting across from her, making the girl roll her eyes for what felt like the hundredth time.

"You don't have your boyfriend to serve as a chair now," Y/n says chuckling, mocking Regina.

"It's okay if you're jealous," Regina says, faking pity towards the girl, making Y/n let out a giggle.

As weird as it seems for the girl, Regina couldn't help her stomach from filling with butterflies at the sound of Y/n's giggles.

It wasn't unusual for them to appear around each other, it didn't mean anything after all.

"You wish." Y/n says, adjusting her position, to cross her legs instead. "You know, you shouldn't be together" Y/n shrugs.

Regina looks at her confused yet offended. "He deserves someone better," Y/n whispers, winking at Regina.

"And you're not happy with him." Y/n quickly says before Regina can comment anything about her last statement.

"You don't know shit," Regina snarks, looking at Y/n.

"I know your relationship is toxic," Y/n responds casually, "He's using you, I'm not blind." she explains, giving Regina a reality check.

"I don't like you, but you're more than just your body Regina" Y/n continues, shrugging, Regina just listening attentively.

"You clearly don't know what you're talking about," Regina rolls her eyes, she knew her relationship with Aaron wasn't felt but she didn't want others to know.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," Y/n replies, as if she knew what Regina was thinking. "I just think you could have someone better," she starts, "Or be better."

"Better how?" Regina looks up, letting out a sigh.

"Someone that would see you as you," Y/n says, Regina humming in response, looking down at her, "Kyle does," Regina says, laughing through her nose.

Regina knew Kyle wasn't good for her, and in no way she could possibly like him, but she decided to tease Y/n.

Y/n furrows her brows, her gaze fixated on Regina, "No, not him."

"Didn't you just say—" Regina starts with a little smirk, before Y/n cuts her off, "First, he's annoying as fuck and rude and mean, even towards you, it's just nonsense,"

"So are you, especially towards me" Regina says, cutting her off, whispering the last part, "It's different, I can do what I want to you, not him." Y/n crosses her arms, huffing.

Regina wasn't expecting Y/n to be that possessive, or maybe it was the alcohol talking for her, either way Regina can't help but let out a chuckle, suddenly forgetting of how much she hates her now that they're alone.

"If you go to him, you're going to leave from the bad to the worse," Y/n continues explaining, rolling her eyes annoyed.

Y/n normally wouldn't give Regina any advice but right here and now, she couldn't help but feel a sense of jealousy that someone would treat Regina the way she does.

"Actually, maybe you should, it's not like anyone else would take you," Y/n shrugs, Regina rolling her eyes at Y/n's contradictory comments, finding it annoying.

Y/n decides to get closer to Regina, turning to her, their bodies only inches apart now.

"You're insufferable," Y/n muttered, explaining, surprising Regina.

Regina's eyes narrowed, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips, finding it amusing. "And yet, you can't seem to stay away," she shot back, looking into Y/n's eyes.

Y/n chuckled, closing the distance between them until their faces were mere inches apart. "Maybe I just like annoying you," she murmured.

Regina's breath hitched at Y/n's proximity. "Or maybe you're just too afraid to admit that you want me, maybe you really are jealous," she countered, her voice low.

Y/n's grin widened, a playful glint in her eyes. "Please," she scoffed, leaning in even closer. "I could have anyone I want."

Regina arched an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. "Is that so?" she murmured, "Then why are you still here?"

By now the minutes have passed and they both knew it, still none have made an effort to leave, it was like they were drawn to each other.

But before Y/n could respond, a surge of boldness swept over her, just looking at Regina's lips before she closes the remaining distance between them, capturing her lips in a heated kiss.

For a moment, Regina was frozen in shock, her mind racing as Y/n's lips moved against hers with a fervent urgency. But then, a surge of desire flooded through her, tangling her fingers in Y/n's hair as she deepened the kiss.

Suddenly their fight was forgotten, they were consumed by the heat of the moment, their bodies pressed close as they lost themselves in each other.

After a while, Y/n reluctantly pulls away, though she didn't want the kiss to end, she remembered where they are.

She gets up, suddenly feeling dizzy as she goes towards the door leaving Regina alone in the bathroom, only muttering a 'I should go.' before she's held back by Regina, that followed after her.

Regina turns Y/n's body towards her, leaving almost no distance between them, her expression was unreadable, masking indifference but deep down she was scared of being outed, and as usual she projected her fear onto her words.

"If you tell anyone what happened," Regina's voice was barely a whisper, but it cut through the silence like a knife, "you'll regret it."

Y/n nods, "I wasn't planning on doing so," she says, making Regina let out a small nervous sigh, before she unlocks the door for Y/n to leave, her hand holding the door open as Y/n leaves. Y/n's own hand brushing past Regina's as she goes to meet her friends.
