Aramoor is Ours

Virion Leywin

I held the head of Exeges in my hands, it's been a couple of days since I killed him and wiped that mansion out of existence. We were all in Maerin, preparing for Aramoor as we were going to be going there today to make out statement, and hopefully have the people bend their knees.

I looked at the Vritra, his long horns had so much mana in them, and yet, I didn't really need to absorb all of it. I needed to get stronger, but the clones in the Grotto are doing that for me, trying to find a new technique for me. I think they are close to figuring something out, at least Hades says so, I don't really know, but I have trust.

"Alright." I said, nodding to myself, there was nothing more to really think about, I just had to go into the city and make a statement. "You five are coming with, but remember, we aren't attacking the people." I paused, rolled my eyes, then added. "If they decide to attack us, then we'll leave and regroup. We could wipe the city out in a split second, but I don't want to do that if we don't have to."

"We understand." Ivy said, nodding her head, all of them were healed from their battle with the Wraiths, there were no serious injuries. "We'll watch from the shadows like you said while you are talking to the people."

"Yeah, no need to worry." Nithe said, looking at me, then at Raven. "None of us will attack the citizens for now." Raven held her hands up in defense like he was talking about her, which to be honest, he probably was, that girl might be crazier than me.

"Okay." I replied, opening a portal that would lead to Aramoor, the city basically in the center of Etril. "I will handle this, join me when the next portal opens up." They all bowed their heads, and I stepped into the portal.

I exited into the city, and it was marvelous, it was the first time I was actually here. It reminded me of Xyrus, but there was a lot more technology, and the designs were a lot fancier. This city was remarkable, and now, it was about to be under my control, it was going to be my city.

The portal closed behind me, and as I looked at the giant buildings, the people, the Alacryan citizens turned toward me with wide eyes as I carried a head within my hands, a Vritra head. Alacryan soldiers circled me, and then as I stopped moving, standing in the middle of a normal street, I looked around, my eyes unwavering, the soldiers dropped to their knees, all of them as I released my aura.

The citizens did the same, some threw up, not my intention, but it sent the point, then I pulled my aura back after a soldier gasped out a couple of words. "It's the Devil of Dicathen." I could feel their hearts racing, each one of them, they were frightened.

"Yes, it is me, the Devil of Dicathen, Virion Leywin." I said, shrugging as they all continued to look down, no one around me had the courage to look up now, and as more people entered the street I was on, the more that dropped to the ground to join them, afraid to move. "I am here too free you from the hands of Agrona!"

"However, I grant you the choice, I am not here to just make you turn on him, you all need to make that decision yourself!" I shouted, thinking to myself, I thought about what I was going to say for like a day or two, and to be honest, I kind of forgot the rest, so time to wing it. "But before that, I need to do one more thing." I said as I clicked on a device in my pocket, and my image appeared on the projecting artifacts planted all throughout the city by Ivy.

"There we go." I said, nodding my head, I grabbed the head with both hands again. "Like I said, a choice, you all need to make a choice, serve Agrona and fight me, or rebel against Agrona, and le time fight him!"

"You all have been under his rule for too long now, and it's time you stop serving him because of fear, and to stand up against him!" I spun my head around, so the face was seen by all. "This is your Sovereign, Sovereign Exeges, I killed him a couple days ago, and I brought him here today to show you all that the Vritras aren't gods, they bleed and can be killed just like any of you!"

As the people in front of me heard this, their eyes lifted a little more off the ground and towards me, looking at the head in my hands with wide eyes, trying to understand everything that was going on. I get it, they are looking at a god's head, well, they were gods to them, people who have been ruling here for like hundreds of years.

Wow, I didn't think about that, hundreds of years and yet I've been here for like fourteen and pretty much ruined everything, haha, that's funny, too bad I have to continue. I'm going to end their dynasty, wipe them out of existence.

I slowly placed the head down onto the ground, finding it to be repulsive, and well, it smelled, I've had it out in the sun the past couple days. "It's your choice, either you are with me, or against me, but no matter what, understand that I would never do what Agrona is doing to all of you!" I paused, letting my words sink into their minds. "Join me, pledge yourself to me and I will kill Agrona for you all, and you will be free from his tyranny!"

I didn't want to threaten them anymore than I already have, but I was pretty much done, there was nothing else more to say to them. It was time for them to make a decision, either they joined me, and I killed Agrona for them, or they didn't, and I left, it was a simple decision, one that should have been answered immediately, but was not.

I waited for a second, then started speaking again as no one answered my call, or responded to what I had just said. "Do you honestly like your lives!" I shouted, stepping forward, causing them to flinch a little, the ones in front of me. "Living under a man who controls you through fear? Join me and that won't be the case, or just don't fight for him anymore, I can protect him from you, all you have to do is agree to it, and I will treat you all like family!"

I was lying, but it was needed, right now my words were all that mattered, not my future actions. I needed to make them understand what's going on, and what they can receive from it, receive from me.

"A world where you can all live free and happy, where there is no war, but only what you want!" I continued talking into the device, letting my voice radiate through the city. "I am the future of this continent, say the word, and I will let you all live freely, give you more supplies, everything, join me and rejoice, let me free you from Agrona's grasp!"

That was all I got, I couldn't say anything else, it was up to them now. I was going to have the Reapers and Hellspawn run through her at some point if they declined, but again, I don't want to threaten them, I somewhat I want to see the massacre. It would be a sight for sore eyes, I don't remember my last true massacre.

I shook my head, shaking off the thoughts that I tried to push away at times, I could feel Hades doing the same thing in my mind as he pushed the thoughts away for me. I could feel my five children just chilling on roofs, watching me, doing as I asked, which was good.

With Exeges here, there really wasn't a way for troops to get here, I don't even think Agrona knows about Exeges's death yet. It's kind of hilarious to think about, he doesn't know his Sovereign is dead, hahaa.

The people didn't move, but then a woman stood up. "You really think you can kill him?" She asked, looking at the ground, and as she did, I stepped forward, vanished and appeared before her, she was old, really old.

She flinched back but I grabbed her hand, and she looked up into my eyes. "Yes." I told her, smiling at her as I stood there. "I promise you, I'll kill him, I understand what all of you have been through, and I am here to tell you to raise your heads, you no longer need to worry, I will protect you from that false god, and you can live your lives however you want from now on."

The people around me started to stand up after hearing my voice, seeing how pleasant I was trying to be. "Truly?" The old lady asked as she looked into my eyes, even though it disgusted the fuck out of me, I continued to be this pleasant person. "You truly can kill him?!"

"Yes." I told her, dropping her hand as I spun around and looked at all the people. "I will kill Agrona and free you all from his grasp!" I could see the joy in their eyes forming, they wanted this, they wanted me to help them, my plan was working, they saw the head, and believed my words.

What fools...

"Then I am with you." The old woman said, and the people around her looked at me with a nod, which surprised me, seconds ago, they were afraid to move, and now, well, they appear to be happy that I am here, not that I am complaining or anything, I'm just saying it's funny.

"Me too." This time a boy spoke up, a little older than me, but I could see his legs still shaking, it probably took a lot of courage for him to say something like that, which I respect from a Lesser.

A soldier stepped up, then a couple more, I didn't need them, they wouldn't help, only get in my way. Etril wasn't really important to me, I just needed a place to go first, it wasn't like I could simply show up and kill Agrona, he has traps and guards planted all around his little Caelum, it would be a suicide mission.

"We are with you, Virion of Dicathen." He said, looking at me, well, my chin, not my eyes, he was obviously still freighted. "Free us, help us, please, I am tired of this life of constant demand." I was surprised that he said something like this, but I nodded, giving him a smile as well.

"Thank you, and I want you all to understand something, if I killed your friends and family over there in Dicathen, please forgive me, I was only doing what I had to do, you were enslaving my people." I told them all. "I will make sure that no one is a slave every again, and that you all get to live freely however you want!"

"It was war, just like now." The old woman said. "You could have come in here and killed us all, but you know that means nothing to the High Sovereign, so there is no reason to ask for our forgiveness, we should be asking for yours."

'This old lady is kind of a badass, speaking so comfortably in front of you, and about Agrona.' I laughed at Hades's words, it was so true, she was kind of a badass, too bad I'll forget her in about ten minutes.

As we stood there, more people came into the streets, somewhat cheering, I did feel bad for them, it was uncertain what the outcome was going to be. They either would die painfully, or live happily, it wasn't something I could really predict, I wasn't going to risk my life for them though.

I stood there silently as the people spoke around me, it appeared as if Aramoor was ours now, something I truthfully didn't think was going to happen today. I thought I was going to show up, make a whole speech, then be attacked by someone, but this, this was nice. I don't care for the people, and being this close to them somewhat disgusts me, but it was nice.

'Veer!' Hades thought to me, speaking with a worried tone. 'We have an issue.'
